No other options too answer because I have not been approved yet. Just applied for the insurance today.
Nationwide - Frustrating
Frustrating. It took 3 calls to get this done. Was not aware that Maggie needed to be 8 weeks and coverages just make no sense.
Further WHY EVEN OFFER WELLNESS? The cost greatly exceeds the value. Policies change every year and it is just impossible to understand. I now have 4 policies and am considering changing companies. Not the same company you used to be.
Nationwide - Although it was an easy interface to add pets, very confusing to finish.
Although it was an easy interface to add pets, unfortunately the system wouldn't take my billing address, no matter how many times I filled it out, and therefore the billing page refused to complete the purchase. Then I get an email saying that Nationwide received my application, which confused me, considering the webpage for purchasing the plan wasn't letting me finish. Not just that, but the email I received only mentioned one of the pets I was applying for coverage on. Very confusing.
Nationwide - No notification of cancelation
The USPS did not deliver the letter in December about policy changes, nor did I receive any further communication regarding the policy with a renewal date in April 4 months after the letter which was not in my mailbox. The policy was canceled without my knowledge or notification or warning of its cancellation. I have had my dog insured with them for 7 years and any conditions covered on previous policy will not be covered on new policy. There wasn’t even a choice to roll-over to the “new plan” the old policy was canceled and coverage starts new not covering any of the medical pre-existing conditions he had been covered on the policy for the last seven years. It’s unethical and a way out to no longer pay for my dog’s conditions they had previously covered under the policy plan they had eliminated. Premiums were always paid and except for this last year I hardly submitted any claims in the past 6 years. Just when I needed the coverage the most Nationwide made a loophole in terminating the plan my dog had and making me apply for a new plan so his illness would not be covered as they consider it pre-existing even though it existed while covered by Nationwide.
Nationwide - Amazing Rep, Disappointing Options
My representative was absolutely great. Loved him. If I could review him separately, he'd get 5-stars without question. He was very personable and helpful throughout the whole process and took the time to explain anything I had questions on.
However, I feel that the options for pet insurance plans have significantly dropped in quality and coverage, especially after having my grandfathered-in whole pet w/ wellness policies (3 pets) cancelled (like so many others did, I'm sure). Am I still going to insure my pets? Yes, because I love and care for them. But am I also greatly upset by the severe downgrade in coverage and care? Yes. I cannot express in words the sheer level of disappointed I am with this shift. This has definitely taken a shift toward accident-only coverage and it's highly disappointing that my pets are now treated more like a car than a living being.
Nationwide - Nationwide Con Artists
Our dogs policy was cancelled supposedly due to not being cost effective. Therefore, I had to enroll her as a new policy and now they will not cover pre-existing conditions that they themselves had already covered for the last 4 years. I have been a loyal customer with all of my pets for over 15 years. I believe this was a scheme they made up so all existing customers pets would no longer be covered and save them money. The coverage is the exact same as what my dog had before with just a different name, and no pressure-existing conditions of course. I am now canceling and going with another provider who will cover her and will care about my pet. Nationwide I think conned everyone, when really it was all to get more money.

the website froze sooo many times that I had to start over 3 times. other than that was easy to set up
Nationwide - Bad option for lifetime of a dog…
My dog has been covered with nation wide for 8 years. They got rid of a lot of pet plans currently and this last year. If your dog has preexisting conditions before they are 9 years old, you are screwed if you have nation wide. If you want your dog be covered for a life time do not go with Nation wide. Now, I have my dog's preexisting conditions that will never be covered because of Nation wide kicking us out of their plan. Nationwide will betray you when the dog gets old.
Nationwide - Policy lapse
I have been a client for over 18 years with multiple dogs. Today I found out that because I paid for one of my dogs policies in full, her policy actually lapsed and she didn’t have coverage for the last month. With my other dogs, their policies automatically renewed. The policy could not be reinstated and actually had to create a new policy. I am very upset by this. With that said my dog now does not have coverage and will not for at least two weeks. In addition, I submitted a bill for $191 that could’ve went to my deductible for the year, and now that doesn’t count.
