Currently have State Farm (been with them for 12+ years), and just learned that the defensive driving and good grades no longer available for teen drivers. Just the defensive driving and steer clear. Is that the new norm for insurance companies? Trying to obtain as many discounts for my teen driver that he could be available for. Didn't know if it was time to shop around!?!? ETA: Next best option to shop around to? State Farm was pretty reasonable when I added him, and has been good to work with. Bummed about the news.

After a bad summer hailstorm, The ill-informed adjuster totaled my wife's and my only car. It was cosmetic damage only. Car still ran like a top. The adjuster who was not from my state( Texas). Said he "thought" the law in my state was the same as his (Florida). NOT! Now Geico is taking the car because we did not want a "salvage title." So we had to ante up for a different car. I would sue them and have a lousy chance of winning a case. We have been insured by Geico for 20 years. They treated us like a pile of crap. Plus our house was fairly heavily damaged in the same storm (a tornadic microburst.) I have already changed to a different company on the new car. It has been a 6-week long ordeal with the claims process. Pain in arse! Stay away from these crooks! The adjuster was wrong on the law in my state. filed a report with the state insurance regulator. Geico cost us $25K for a replacement car for something comparable to our total loss. Of course, they are not paying us anything near that amount. We were happy with our old car which gave us 50000 trouble-free miles over 10 years.

Hello, I adopted a rescue dog in November. I purchased Fetch insurance in March. They will not cover any anxiety meds or treatment for his anxiety due to it being "pre-existing". Early vet visits mentioned his anxiety . I'm pretty discouraged that this is being held against him. Are there any insurance plans that cover behavioral issues despite it being pre-existing. My vet even argued that my dog has Seperation Anxiety which is a different dx than anxiety and it was still denied.

I just thought about checking on my fetch insurance, went on to the medical record page, and found out that ALL my pet’s medical records were deleted!!! It says no medical records at all, but I’ve been updating my pet’s medical record since I adopted him in 2023. There are 4 records that I updated, including annual wellness check and initial baseline. I have the confirmation of medical records emails from fetch last year. I called them and reuploaded all the files. The customer service was nice but she said that she has no idea why this happened, and no further clarification on how to prevent this in the future. This feels so shady. Everyone with Fetch, please have the habit to check on your records regularly, because I’ve had experiences of them refusing my claim because I didn’t post annuals check up record every year. I can’t even imagine what could’ve happened if I didn’t think about checking the insurance today… still in shock

Hello, I have a very unique situation here lol. I am moving out of state where I will no longer need to use my vehicle. However, I don’t want to get rid of it and my girlfriend and I have planned to let her use it until her lease ends next year to move with me. So - the car is hers essentially in every way but legally and since I am still financing it I know I have to be on the auto insurance. However, the car is going to be used by her primarily and stored at her FL address. I explained the situation to GEICO and they said they couldn’t insure this situation since the car would not be stored at the owner’s address. Is this going to be allowed by any auto insurance or am I screwed aka need to find an alternative way to handle this situation? Thanks,

So I hit someone’s car and the damage was very minimal. Just a tiny dent and a scratch. I filed a claim, and the guy I hit said the damage was minimal so he wasn’t going to file one. I called yesterday to cancel and was told by progressive I would get a call today. I get a call and let the lady know I wanted to cancel because of the reason provided. She then gives me attitude over the phone and we hangup the call. What do I do in this situation ?

This past Sunday, while watching a movie at a theater, someone ran over brand new my motorcycle in the parking lot. Thankfully the person who did, told an employee and waited for me. He gave me all of his information. I filled a claim with his insurance, The Hartford and am a little worried about it now. Within a day of filing the claim, they have switched the adjuster and the new adjuster told me, “honestly, I don’t know. I’m not going to ghost you…” when I asked for a timeline on them getting back to me. Are they just going to give me the run around?

Well, I guess im late to finding out my coverage dropped from 90% to 50% i had been doing claims due to my dog having multiple TPLO surgeries and find out ny nost recent one only got covered 50%. Pretty annoyed. My dog is 8 and already is through most of the surgeries but does have a neurological issue. Im looking to get a new policy somewhere and would love recommendations.

I’m moving from Oregon to Los Angeles & my wage is still quite low, but the move is justified because I should go up in salary much quicker in due time. I have to change my car insurance over & my rate with Progressive will go from $133 for comprehensive to about $400. What insurance do I really need in the event of an accident & how can I lower this cost as low as possible? Anyone have really cheap rates with other companies? Car is a 2015 Nissan Altima.

Healthypaws is raising our premium to $35/month/cat, have had general cat insurance but almost nothing has been covered - their issues (cat herpes early on, recently anal gland stuff) is hardly covered or not at all. Looking at catastrophic/accident only insurance - is this worth? Do you have a company you like/hate less than all the other companies? Looked at PetsBest which is suspiciously inexpensive at $6/month vs aspcapetinsurance at $22/month for the same coverage. Any help is appreciated!
