Geico - Geico breaking policy?
Hello!
I recently rear ended someone recently and this accident ended up totalling my car. I have geico insurance and they are stating that I only get 3 days with my rental car. My policy does not say that anywhere. They severely undervalued my car. I compared it to KBB and other cars with similar make and models and mileage. I sent them these and they told me to hire an independent appraiser. I don't have the funds to hire someone to do this. They are going to make me turn in my rental car before they even pay out any money so I can get a new vehicle. I have asked my adjuster to send me where in my policy it states this and they have been unable to provide me a location in my policy where anything that they are citing is stated.I am feeling a bit lost and hopeless and I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue before or if they have any advice. Any would be great! Thank you so much!
Spot - Best Insurance for Cats?
I currently have Spot but they decided to raise my premium with no real extra benefit (as most insurance companies do around this time of year). I am now getting charged around $40 a month for a $500 deductible, 90% reimbursement after deductible and no preventative care. Is this fair?
Also if anyone has actually filed a claim and been satisfied with the company/experience which was it? Any company I should avoid all together? Insight would be nice!
(side note: I was looking at Progressive coverage since I could bundle with auto but idk if that's a good idea)
Medicare - Health insurance
I have met my Medicare deductible. I have plan G Medicare supplement which pays all co-pays, etc.
I am being billed by a doctor’s office in spite of the fact that I have no further liability for co-pays. What is the best way to resolve this as the doctors office keep sending me a bill.
State Farm - What do I do?
I was in an accident 12/29. My car was totaled by my insurance company (State Farm). They called my creditor (Upstart) to get a payoff total. They gave my claims agent a “10-day guarantee payoff quote.” The insurance company sent the payment in full and it processed within 4 days. The insurance company now owns the title of the car (I’ve confirmed this twice). I theoretically should owe nothing on this loan as the quote given was paid in full and the title has already been transferred. However, the creditor is still trying to charge me my monthly payments. My claims agent said they called and confirmed with the creditor that everything was indeed taken care of and the car has been paid off. He said I should no longer be getting charged payments. I figured maybe it would just take time to process the transfer or the loan payoff but my account is now past due because they’ve tried to take 2 more monthly payments. I have called several times to dispute it (because I was told it should not be my responsibility as the loan was already paid in full!) but they just say they’ll transfer me to a supervisor and then I’m on hold for 30 minutes before the line just disconnects. I’ve emailed. I’ve called. I don’t know what else to do and I cannot afford to pay these extra payments with accrued interest and late fees but it just keeps accruing. Nor should I have to since the creditor doesn’t even own the car anymore and they got all the money they asked for. Any advice in this situation is appreciated.
Trupanion - Ridiculous Trupanion Rate Increases
I've had two rate increases in a year's time, increasing in total about 64%. Has calling to reduce helped anyone? This is honestly crazy, and their vague emails with arbitrary reasoning is incredibly frustrating.
September '24: $74.57 to $91.77
September '25: $91.77 to $121.58
Manypets - Anyone NOT doing the transfer from Manypets to Odie? My premium went up nearly 50%!
I guess I should have looked into this sooner, since I got the email from Manypets back at the end of December, but I forgot about it until now when I FINALLY got an email from Odie regarding the new policy which takes effect March 1st. I have been paying $34.12 a month for each of the last 3 years on a Golden Retriever since she was 3 months old with Manypets. $500 deductible and 90% reimbursement and unlimited annual. They say your rates will be the same with Odie as they would have been with Manypets, but the new premium is $50.15 for $500/90% AND I noticed that the annual max is no $20,000 instead of unlimited. I understand rates normally go up each year but this is nearly 50%. I have seen other posts about this so just wondering if you guys are sticking with Odie or finding another company. I still have not received the email regarding the whole policy so there may be more things I find missing. And if you did switch, do you know if the new companies normally waive the waiting period as long as you have had continuous coverage with another company?
my insurance company - Being sued and not sure what will happen next
Location: Houston, Texas
On July 15th 2024, I was involved in an accident with a driver.
It was a two-way street and I was at the middle crossing section ready to yield to the street I need to go. I noticed a driver coming out from the plaza and looked like they are waiting to cross to the street where I was coming from. Before yielding, I made sure no incoming cars and safe to go; attempted the yield. As I turned, the car from the plaza crossed the street and a collision happened where my front hit their side. Police was called but no report was made as they said it was minor. The other driver insisted the police to give me a ticket but they didn’t and sent us home after we exchanged insurance.
After that, I did all my obligations with my insurance company and they denied claims from the other driver as they said it was not my fault and I had the right to yield. Fast forward to now, I received a paper said I’m being sued for personal injury but in remember the police asked the driver questions to determine if the driver need medical attention and the driver said no.
I contacted my old insurance right away to inform them about the sue paper. I don’t know what to do from here.
Allianz - Allianz and pre existing conditions
I unwisely booked a 4 day festival ticket that I don’t think I can attend. I have a pre existing condition and at the time, I didn’t consider how my impaired my mental and physical stamina is.
I’m trying to file my claim but I’m worried because pre existing conditions are excluded.
I’m seeing a psychiatrist and therapist about OCD however (which factors into why I can’t go all four days). Will Allianz accept this reason and documentation for it?
UnitedHealthcare - Doctor wants payment up front—Insurance says not to
I have UHC and while taking care of some things on the phone with a representative I asked a question out of curiosity which was just my confusion that sometimes when I get my botox for migraines my provider has me pay nothing and I get the bill later, other times I just have to make "a" payment and then get the bill later. When I say get the bill later in both cases I mean after the claim has gone through insurance I then get the billed amount I owe, and the portal for UHC updates with my EOB (I use the EOB to apply for a savings program to be reimbursed by a third party). My most recent appointment however they made me pay the full amount of botox up front otherwise they refused to treat me. I am disabled without this treatment so I just found a card with enough money on it and gave it to them. The insurance representative told me they aren't to make me pay more than a voluntary small amount of my choice if I want to, and that they aren't supposed to deny me my treatment that they approved. She told me to not pay next time and if they push back to call United and get a representative on the phone. My mother used to work medical scheduling however and she insists they can make me pay whatever amount they want and reimburse me later. I am thinking my mom might be more right but just want to hear it straight. For the record I am in the (slow) process of changing migraine treatment providers for a number of reasons related to poor communication or miscommunication.
Pets Best - Pets best. I am very angry
So this may slightly be my fault but I need to vent and need options. I have had pets best for 2 years. My golden retriever blew her ACL and I took her to a surgeon and they confirmed it. The entire process took 5 months. I called pets best to see how to proceed, they said to pay the bill and then send everything to them. So I did.
They just came back and said that they will not reimburse me because I don’t wait 6 months to have the surgery. WTF!!! and why would you not tell me when I called to ask how to proceed?!?
Am I just out of luck? Or do you think that this is worth fighting? I am out $7k now. This is why I had pet insurance in the first place!!!
