ASPCA - Asked me to return their reimbursements
ASPCA has been great... until last week, they reached out to me saying they had an error in their system, and they accidentally approved several claims that I had over 6+ months ago that they now believe were potentially caused by a preexisting condition. Which is not the case. And they now have the audacity to ask me to repay them over $600 in the next 30 days from reimbursements they made to me literally over 6 months ago. Absolutely absurd and unacceptable. I am good about not submitting claims that are truly for preexisting conditions, so this is just truly disappointing.

The worst pet insurance company that I have ever worked with.
They are rude and ignorant, and they threaten me to cancel my insurance.
Three times I got an email and I have all three.
I spoke to two people at French and I explained the situation with my credit card being lost and having to get another one.
And their response was to worry about it you have a few extra days and I can't sleep right away it takes time so I'm not sure.
The human that sent the message or a robot, either way they can take their insurance and stick it where the sun doesn't shine this is not professional customer service.
It's rude and you don't threaten someone to cut it off.
If I were you I would do your research before you get your pet insurance I didn't.
I picked fetch right away without looking at others and now I regret it.

Oh yeah they also said that then canceling my insurance from my cat.
Would mean that anything that happened before the cancellation will not be accepted with the next Insurance company.
Does anyone know if there's an agency that governs pet insurance company's in Canada and the states.
PetPartners - Pet Partners is a Waste of Money
Pet Partners is happy to take your money, but not to actually pay legitimate claims nor communicate changes in policy. An absolute waste of money.
They neglected to tell me my dogs had “aged out” but kept taking my premiums for extra policies. When my Golden had an accident and tore his CCL (acl) they informed me that vets consider this injury an “orthopedic illness” and therefore not covered as an accident. This is absolute rubbish. There is language in the declarations page about a waiting period for CCL/ACL coverage but NO ACTUAL COVERAGE.
ASPCA - Terrible insurance- does not pay ANY for accident or illness.
Every single claim I filed for one of my cats for accident or illness was denied. Things that were supposed to be covered were, in fact, not. So $1,490 was not covered. this insurance is a money pit. I filed all of the documentation that was required. Don't waste your time or your money. I wish I hadn't spent $600 for the one cat's insurance.
Embrace - The insurance we paid for was useless.
The insurance we paid for was absolutely useless. Nothing was covered for our dog, no regular health check ups, nothing.
I’m sure there are other pet insurance companies that are worth purchasing, but Embrace Pet Insurance certainly is not.
Thankfully we cancelled and will look into better pet insurance available.
Trupanion Canada - Absolute thieves
Absolute thieves. We have the top of the line plan and we are covered. We were arbitrarily denied a claim despite the vet explaining and sending over all the information. We will be contacting a lawyer to recoup all the money we’ve paid thus far. AVOID!!!!!!

Wait forever for them to respond only to telling nothing is covered by we need every vet he's ever seen! And everything is pre existing conditions or not enough info! Don't by any pet insurance I've had 3 different ones all a scam I'm paying 163$ a month for one dog and won't cover!!!!! Don't waist your money on any of them
Embrace - First accident claim for the puppy
First accident claim for the puppy. Our 2 year old tripped going down our stair, and she had a small limp for the next 10 days on and off. We decided to take her to the vet. The vet basically said she hurt her knee, and gave her some pills. One week later no limp. I submitted my bill, and because it was an orthopedic injury in our waiting period they won’t cover a ACCIDENT that is fully covered. If she cut herself she would have been covered. This is how USSA veterans are treated.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This so-called “pet insurance” company is an absolute joke. They lure you in with promises of peace of mind and coverage for emergencies, but when it actually matters, they do everything in their power to avoid paying.
I recently had to take my pet to the ER for an urgent situation—a visit that was already stressful and expensive. I filed my claim with every single document they requested, thinking I was covered. What did they do? They nitpicked every minor detail to deny the claim only paying $40 after a $900 visit, claiming it didn’t fall under their “coverage criteria.”
It’s absurd. What’s the point of paying outrageous monthly premiums if they won’t even cover a legitimate emergency? They hide behind vague fine print and ridiculous loopholes to dodge responsibility. The process of filing a claim is a nightmare, and the customer service is useless. They don’t care about you, your pet, or the fact that you’re relying on them in a time of need.
This isn’t insurance—it’s a scam. Save yourself the headache and put the money into a savings account for your pet’s medical expenses. You’ll end up paying out of pocket either way, so why bother with these fraudsters?
DO NOT trust them with your pet’s health or your wallet. This company is nothing but a profit-hungry scam operation, preying on pet owners when they’re most vulnerable. Shameful.
