Fetch - Affordable initially but they’ll rip you off once you’re with them.
Initially I was quite impressed with Fetch but I just received my first renewal notice and they’ve hiked my premium up by 15%!!! This seems like a ridiculous price increase given I haven’t even been with them for 6 months (my pup is only 9 months old for context so not many issues health-wise).
Trupanion - This is why all of us dogs owners need…
This is why all of us dogs owners need to stand together and go to our state representatives to put some type of bill against these pet insurance cause it’s a scam that makes you pay out-of-pocket first then reimburse you that defeats the purpose of making a monthly payment so that was something happen and you don’t have the money they pay for People wake up stop paying for these ridiculous vet bill
Trupanion Canada - Pretty awesome idea to give people a…
Pretty awesome idea to give people a free month of pet insurance, however to actually get customers to continue using the insurance, they should actually cover a vet bill during the free month trial...otherwise what is the point. Refused coverage for a vet bill after signing up for the insurance. Looking into the payments as well, they seem rather expensive ($160 range / month). Seems quite a bit more than other companies.
Trupanion - Support is no help
No help, no knowledge.
Fetch - If I could give them zero stars I…
If I could give them zero stars I would. I really liked Fetch Pet Insurance in the beginning and then it all went down hill. They were constantly asking for more documentation when they already had everything. I rescued a puppy and then signed up for insurance for all my dogs. They had everything from the start but were asking me for information that didn't exist. I have never had to fight so hard to get reimbursed for stuff they said they would cover. I am so fed up, I am cancelling and taking the loss. It's not worth my time and I think that is part of their process. They want you to give up trying. I WOULD NEVER recommend them to anyone!
Trupanion - 1/5 Stars
1/5 Stars - Misleading Sales Practices and Lack of Transparency
I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Trupanion, a pet insurance company that promises comprehensive coverage but fails to deliver. My experience was marred by misleading sales practices, lack of transparency, and poor customer service.
When I signed up for the policy, the agent assured me that I would have a single $1,000 deductible. However, I later discovered that the deductible was applicable to each condition, not just once. This was a significant difference that would have affected my decision to purchase the policy.
Furthermore, the documents provided to me did not match the policy's actual terms, leaving me feeling deceived and frustrated. When I brought this to the attention of the company, I was met with a lack of empathy and understanding.
Trupanion's business practices are not transparent, and their sales agents are not forthcoming with accurate information. As a pet owner, it's essential to have trust in the insurance company, and Trupanion has failed to establish that trust.
I would not recommend Trupanion to anyone looking for pet insurance. Instead, I would suggest exploring other options that prioritize transparency, honesty, and customer satisfaction.
Trupanion - Your system “upgrade” is a disaster

Pets Best - Nuclear-Grade Incompetence
This is the most dysfunctional insurance company I've ever worked with. My claims keep being denied because the claims department never thinks to ask the records department for, you know, RECORDS before denying my claims. Uploading records to my portal on the app does nothing; so I now have to email records directly to the claims department and then call and tell them that the email exists. Then the records department has to connect that email with my claim number, despite my claim number being in the header of the email. The departments flat out don't communicate with each other. Calling it a circus wouldn't be fair. Circuses are better coordinated.
Even if the claims department knew what it was doing, it wouldn't change the fact that reimbursement takes forever. It's been six weeks and I haven't seen a dime. My cat can't receive life-saving treatment because all of my claims get denied. The claims department is working overtime to prove my cat has a preexisting condition, despite two annual wellness exams and blood work proving she was always a healthy cat. My veterinarian is even willing to testify that my cat was never sick before her issues started. Doesn't matter. Did I mention one of my claims is just an error message now? I guess that's not getting reimbursed any time soon.
I have no faith that this company will ever pay me. And now that my cat is sick, I can't switch insurance companies. They know that. So they aren't attempting to help me at all. I pay extra for 90% reimbursement with no annual limit. I guess someone knocked the 9 off of that 90 and never bothered to put it back.
Pets Best is that cousin who's always borrowing money and promises to pay you back next week, next month, next year, once he gets a job, once he pays off his car, once he wins the lottery, once he becomes a billionaire. It's not happening. Ditch the cousin and find a better insurance company.
Healthy Paws - Healthy paws is a rip off
I have had healthy paws insurance for my Australian Shepherd, who is now 11 1/2 years old. I have never made any major claims for my dog. This last year had a few small claims after the 250.00 deductible because she developed an allergy. I was just notified that my insurance is going up from $97 to $148 a month. That is an outrageous jump from the previous years increase. I am debating whether to keep this insurance because she is 12 years old. I think it’s a big rip off when pay for your insurance and you never use it and now that she might need it, they raise the rates. They also have a who cares attitude when you call to speak to them. I have another dog that I got after my Australian Shepherd. I went with a different company just because of the rude attitude when I called to get a quote they really don’t care. So disappointing.
Pets Best - Worst Pet Insurance
They cover NOTHING from a $1457 vet bills. This company sucks
