A waste of time, money and effort to signup and deal with this company. The information you receive when signing up is misleading at best. Regardless of how many riders you will add to the basic policy such as wellness plus, alternative, rehabilitation etc figo will find a way to reject your claim.

Very very difficult to cancel a policy. Information on website is incorrect about doing so. Customer service not helpful.

My dog was involved in a major car accident, and 4 months after she jumped from the couch and hurt her ligament, but they declined my claim because they said this issue is a degenerative disease. I called them up, the advisor told me to file for a reassessment, I did it, and they said we need more documents to show it was from a major accident. I told them it's okay to provide after 180 days. She said yes since you opened up the reassessment in that window, and we need more documents. I gathered all the documents to provide them; it took me about 8 months. They said OOO, it's 180 days after, and we can't do a reassessment. BULLSHIITTT

I gave a 5 star not long ago, but then renewal came and they want an additional 60 dollars a month. Price hike out of control. When I started with this company for both of my cats it was less than 130 a month. Now they want 216. I understand with aging comes increase, but 99 a month for a cat is insane, what will it be when he's 16.

This company is a rip off. I sent four years of vet. Bills and talked to three different people. Every time I called they had a different excuse for not paying me. The Vet. And I both sent records. Now they are saying they need proof I paid the bills. Do you know any Vet, that would continue to treat your dog for 4 years if you’re not paying at time of service? I don’t! So I asked if the Vet. could send something saying I don’t owe them a dime but still not good enough. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY! Update… To make the themselves look good, they asked for my information on here which I gave knowing they would not do a thing and they haven’t. I have asked for a letter of cancellation for a week now but still no letter. God help them if they take more money from my acct. You messed with the wrong person this time! I wish I never found this so called company but I will make it miserable for them just like they did me!

Typical insurance company that will spend an inordinate amount of time and energy (money) into looking to deny your claim. I got the 30 days free when registering my dog and by happenstance had a claim..urinary tract infection for a female puppy and they arbitrarily claimed it was a congenital defect. The Vet said no way. Not worth the fight since I will not be renewing and definitely not worth your money to get this insurance.

I submitted $800 worth of claims. Wellness, shots, an early and meds. It took them over a month to get back to me via email to advise they denied all claims. This company is a total fraud. I paid my premium every month for over a year and received absolutely no benefit from it. Don't trust this company.

I've had Trupanion for about 10 years, and for me, I would have been better off without it. If your dog has a catastrophic injury or major disease, it's probably worth it. For general health decline, it's not, in my opinion. My dog's monthly fee started at about $30 and is now about $130. However, my biggest complaint about Trupanion is how often then deny valid claims, then I have to appeal, then usually they are paid. My dog has been on several prescription drugs for YEARS. I have met my deductible for the related conditions for the drugs. Yet, when I file for reimbursement, claims are denied and I have to call to follow up and have the claim resubmitted. It is frustrating and time consuming.

The website does not show a consolidated itemized listing of the invoiced bills to what is reimbursed. It is over 60 days to get refunded. Also little cost savings after 2 pets. I have nearly 20 cats. So way to expensive.

It’s absolutely obvious that this shady company is creating fake reviews, because as soon as someone posts one negative review, on that very same day multiple five-star positive reviews appear to drown it out. Be careful, don’t get involved with this company.
