ASPCA Pet Insurance - My doggie was having routine dental…
My doggie was having routine dental cleaning. During this procedure, vet called and recommended several teeth to be extracted. This was the 1st occurrence that the vet recommended extraction. We had other dental cleanings before this. Vet would call me back within minutes to provide me with extent of surgery and fees. While waiting for vet, I immediately called ASPCA insurance. The rep was extremely kind. She looked at our plan and said since it was the first time having procedure (extractions) that we have a $250 deductible and then our plan would pay 90% up to $3000.00. Submitted claim for $2300.00. When claim was processed it was for only $1000.00. Called and spoke to rep at ASPCA. ASPCA obtained something called SOAP notes from vet office. ASPCA determined that there was a note in 2018 , 6 years ago, that the doggie had a note of dental build up . tarter on teeth. We provide complete vet check up every 6 months with the same facility. When I called to verify why the difference in reimbursement amounts, 50% vs 90%, I was told the 90% would have only happened in 2018, even though it wasn't medically necessary or advised by vet. Now would only be eligible for one time reimbursement of $1000.00 under continuing care. Somehow this doesn't seem right. Would request further explanation for this reasoning of denial of 90% of fees.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - at first i didnt like this insurance…

I felt like it wasnt being off, thats why i bought cat insurance to helped out when most needed. Evenually i guess i paid the maximum amount so it started paying off. Even if paid alot out pocket for my dusty it was worth it but having insurance for him was a blessing. Now i can keep trying for cat to live a little bit more,
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Double Charges and NOT REIMBURSED as of YET!
I am really disappointed with ASPCA stating and acknowledging of a double charged error in their system and I have called the day of 10/1/24, and 10/04, 10/07, 10/15 and 10/22. Even if it's an amount of $77.87 it's still robbing and not yet reimbursed as promised. I confirmed they had my checking account number and still nothing. I am not happy with having to keep checking my account.I have emailed and said if I do not get reimbursed I will dispute this amount and will cancel and shop elsewhere! Anyone else going through this issue?
ASPCA Pet Insurance - The Worst insurance company

ASPCA Pet Insurance - Didn't cover some of the vaccine costs…
Didn't cover some of the vaccine costs required for my dog to go to daycare, and it was also not effective in covering the cost of an exam.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Terrible insurance
Terrible insurance. More expensive than most of insurances and keep denying claims for ridiculous reasons. They say something is pre-existing but it is not. They bend the rules in their favor. We were clients for 3 years afraid of leaving and something bad happens to our dog. But enough is enough.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Good Luck with Reimbursements
Been a customer for 6 months now, took cat to vet for urinalysis because she was peeing everywhere. Claim denied because ASPCA says they cant obtain medical records. See disclaimer at bottom of their website " The ASPCA® is not an insurer and is not engaged in the business of insurance. " Also no close account option in their customer portal. Closing account. Wont return.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Waste of money
Everything, Every. Single. Thing. was somehow coded under "pre-existing condition". Not once did anyone listen to me when I called to explain what the Vet procedure was for. ASPCA connected everything to some pre-existing condition and never approved a claim. Ever. I was basically paying ASPCA to tell me that they will not cover anything that I have done for my pet. Urine test, nope, Fecal test, nope. Blood work, nope, X-rays, nope. Ultrasound, nope. Medication, nope. teeth cleaning with a cyst removal, nope. My dog has never had health issues, still doesn't but somehow they have linked all of this together to something they call pre-existing. They never explained what the pre-existing condition is and never backed down from defending their decision. Never again, never recommend. Cancelled immediately.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Unfair denial of last claim
Our last claim for NoName for over $1600 was rejected by this company for no good reason. Allegedly there was no track record for his recent illness and treatment, but we have always cared for him properly (he was a stray nearly 5 years ago, blind and neglected) taking him to several vets. We had to take him to several owing to the pandemic, and a large portion of his last visit should have been reimburse-able. We are long time clients with multiple animals and feel very much let down. We have made 2 appeals with no satisfaction.
