ASPCA Pet Insurance - I just recently signed up for this pet…
I just recently signed up for this pet insurance, and have submitted one receipt for Veterinary visit. It was rejected because they need all my records from every single Veterinary visits she has ever had, and I’m finding it very difficult to negotiate what needs to be done. I am giving it one more try, but they are making it very difficult in my opinion.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Just joined
Just joined. No experience yet. Don't ask new members to review a product they have no experience with. Ask me after I submit a bill. Have used Trupanion. Will compare when appropriate.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Average
It’s decent. I adopted a dog from a rescue shelter who has allergies. Apparently allergies won’t be covered since he had it prior to the adoption. I find that part to be sad. While I have a similar mission of saving dogs instead of buying a puppy like most people, apparently only the ones who buy puppies without preexisting allergies will be covered.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - This is regarding claim from October…
This is regarding claim from October 2023. The claim was denied repeatedly due to need for medical records from the vet clinic. The clinic sent records (wrong date as it turns out) but the follow up communication from the insurer was totally inadequate to resolve. Very frustrating.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Policy Wrongfully Cancelled Without Notice.
My only issue with the insurance is that you get an email stating that your pets policy has been cancelled without your knowledge. When you actually speak with an agent and was told that the co-owner cancelled it, and they have every right to do so. Well, I asked my husband and told me that he didn't. First off he isn't computer literate, he has me go over his emails with him and has me delete, or respond to the emails for him. Secondly, he never received an email from ASPCA regarding the policy. Thirdly, I'm the one who pays the monthly premiums. Last but not least, I never added him has co-owner on the policy. The agent I spoke with assured me that she put in a reinstatement, effective November 8, 2024. She swore to me, assured me that all has been taken care of and that there will not be a problem. Low and behold, ASPCA is advising me that I would have to reapply after being with them for over five years with my current pet, and an additional 5/6 years with my previous pet.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Don't get insurance with this company
Don't get insurance with this company. I have had insurance with them for 3+ years. They have raised my rate every year without much justification. I kept paying it despite it getting expensive. I had accident only insurance, and this year my dog tore her acl (ccl in a dog) in her knee. A very common orthopedic injury to active dogs. I thought "oh good" at least I kept that insurance active. The surgery was $6,000 and I turned in my claim for reimbursement which I already had to pay out of pocket. I got surprised by this company because they turned around and called my dog's accident an "illness", and thus it didn't qualify under my accident insurance policy. Hmm, that was sly! They made no justification to me how they came to that decision, and every vet and person with any common sense would never call an orthopedic common knee injury that required surgery to fix the issue and "illness"! So I called customer service to inquiry about it and they just tried to read me all the stuff I already knew. I was handed off to the supervisor, who also could do nothing for me except offer that I could email their appeals department and maybe get the decision changed. But that only has ~50% turn-around. This company is a crook. They took my money for 3 years, never anywhere in their policy do they say they won't cover a common traumatic knee injury as an "accident". They define illness as anything that isn't an accident, and then get to make the decision without transparency as to what they define as an accident. Then I have no power to talk with anyone in a supervisory role to make a better judgement on it. Cannot talk with the person that made the decision, have to continue to do all the work to get them to do their part of our contract, and likely will have to get an attorney at this point for any hopes of getting them to payout a legitimate claim I put in. Just beware this could be your experience with them too!
ASPCA Pet Insurance - terrible for sure
the worst thing is they didn't solve anything for me
ASPCA Pet Insurance - They denied every claim I submitted…
They denied every claim I submitted claiming it was a pre- existing condition- when it was not. ASPCA wouldn’t even cover the euthanasia for my dog who ended up having cancer. Initially, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and only after multiple vet visits did they determine it was lung cancer. The denied my vet visit claim and his end of life care. I paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for absolutely nothing. I’ve signed my other dogs up for a different insurance. I wouldn’t trust them to honor any claims moving forward.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - 44% YOY premium increase
The fact they think they can justify raising my premium 44% YOY is unheard of. They want us to be ok with how spending 4k a year for a max return of $2500 is worth it.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - INCOMPLETE COVERAGE
HORRIBLE coverage--hardly covers anything and this company has the gall to charge customers $127 per month! Absolutely USELESS insurance! Additionally, keeps hounding customers to submit health records even when customers have submitted all health records and STILL hardly covers anything, which ends up costing consumers MORE money than not having insurance.
