Embrace - Pre-existing condition
Almost every claim is pre-existing condition unless they were hit by a truck
Embrace - At the time of purchase
At the time of purchase, the representative assisting me explicitly stated that my dog’s neuter procedure would be covered under the policy. However, upon submitting a clam for reimbursement after the surgery, I was informed that the procedure falls under wellness care, which is not included in my policy.
Embrace - I was told a claims agent would call me…
I was told a claims agent would call me back but never heard back. My claim was denied and I still don’t know why.
Embrace - Slow process and hard to get answers in a timely manner from a representative
We have been members for barely a year and our rate already increased. Our first claim took a while to be processed and it was very simple and straightforward. Our reimbursement has not yet gone through to the proper bank account. I have called and emailed multiple times to get an answer with no luck. Tried to update bank account details on app and it keeps glitching to no success. When I was finally able to update and to talk to someone on the phone, nothing has been done yet and it’s been almost a week. Not what I expected. Don’t want to imagine what happens if you had a complicated claim.
Embrace - This company is horrible
This company is horrible. I had an underwriter decline my dogs SAR diagnosis stating that he had been blind before I adopted him. He had seen at least 5 veterinarians before I put him on the policy and not one of them noted any blindness. It literally happened overnight per my vet who also wrote them a letter. Save your money and go to Healthy Paws. They are a much better carrier. The sad part is that I have Embrace a shot because my agency sells their product. I have told everyone who will listen what a terrible company this is. I haven’t recommended this product to anyone ever again.
Embrace - They don't pay for any claims
They don't pay for any claims! Beware! I put in one claim they asked for more medical records,,AND SENT IN MORE RECORDS from the new VET and then they refused payment stating I needed previous medical records from previously!! How can i get previous records when she was a Rescue cat?? They Never said that when i signed up with them. They just don't want to pay any claims! I had their better ins where they suppose to pay 90% of the visit. They Paid Nothing!! and I had to pay over $850 out of pocket!! STAY FAR AWAY...NO GOOD!
Embrace - Underwriting is very unfair
Underwriting is very unfair. Would give a “0” if it was offered.
Embrace - Zero If the website allowed me
Zero If the website allowed me. Please, I urge you to go read Embrace's reviews and responses to said reviews on the BBB website. The reviews are more detailed so you know EXACTLY what Embrace's does and does NOT due after they have taken your money!
Bottom line: They don't review your pet's medical history prior to purchasing a policy. They self diagnosis your pet with pre-existing conditions and illnesses even when a Vet has NOT, even with medical documentation of no such condition/illness. Then deny, deny, deny!
Embrace - Absolute scam artists
Absolute scam artists. They'll find any way possible to deny your claim, break it down into pieces, classify every possible thing as "wellness", classify all the rest as within your waiting period or a pre-existing condition, and put another lump into the deductible - if they even process anything, because half the time they complain about missing paperwork or medical history. You're lucky if you get anything out of them. Even for a $1500 accident / injury vet episode on a single pet, you might get $500 back - but then think of the hundreds you already paid them to insure the pet for the year. And that assumes your pet actually has any health problems that year. Every time I open this website, I get angry. I've had to fight them for coverage multiple times. We have policies on three pets (two cats and a dog).
TLDR: Not even half of your vet expenses are covered under their policy, and you still have to meet deductibles.
* Unless you pay for "wellness rewards", which is just paying in advance for services you might not even use, for the pleasure of maybe getting your money back.
The only reason we still have this is in case something really bad happens - cancer, broken bones, whatever. I don't know, maybe you get your money back when your pets age, but by then you'll be earning more anyway, and the money will mean less to you than it does now. For healthy pets, this is a ripoff of epic proportions, and it will grind your gears every time you have to deal with them.
Embrace - We have been paying insurance for our 4…
We have been paying insurance for our 4 year rescue for two years, no issues to take your money, no requirements or docs needed. Now that we needed to file a claim. They want history from before the adoption which doesn't exist since she was a stray. They keep asking for the same information which doesn't exist. And keep denying the claim.
Stay away from them.
