Embrace - Wasted time
Representative was courteous. I submitted a claim twice because it was not legible. The claims were sent EXACTLY AS Embrace requested. After I was placed on hold for an extended time, the claim suddenly became CLEAR. Another issue I have is when Embrace factors in discounts I receive for other non- reimbursable items I purchase.
Embrace - What has happened to this company?
I am an older person. I have used your insurance for 3 generations of dogs. Never a problem until now. Now your company is less friendly in the way you handle claims. I don’t own a working printer. This means, I couldn’t use the claim form on your web site. WHY do you not allow me to fill out the form on line and send it.. This poor management for what has always been a good and thoughtful company.
IT also meant that the person who worked with me also emailed the form to me to fill out. Again, I don’t havre a printer. I can’t use those forms. And why didn’t you train your customer service person offer a printed copy of your claim. So all I mailed to you was the invoice from my vet. Please call me to straighten out this no printer problem or mail the forms to me, and allow my claim go through. I”m very disappointed with your new shiny system. And I could tell that you have shorted the length of discussions that your people had to work with me. Embrace has always been a warm insurance company particularly since it is expensive.

Embrace - 150% premium increase without old policy
I used to suggest Embrace to all my friends. Not anymore. They’ve increased my premium from roughly $760 per year for two cats ( 1k deductible, 90% with 15k max payout) to $2000 per year. My cat’s age one is 7 the other is 8.
Inflation is their only reason. I can only lower my deductible %.
I have no choice but try to keep up. This pet premium is the least payout and its even more than my mortgage insurance per year. I am stuck here. If I switch or up my plan all previous claim will become pre existing condition. This is unethical.
On the other hand I do love their customer service but this is unbelievable.

Stop submitting claims in 2024 because company never pays! Puts claims on hold even tho they get invoices and notes from Vet. I submitted notes myself and still get put on hold!
Embrace - Difficulty finding diagnosis
I had two claims to submit. The first one was simple and I would rate the proccess a 5 star. The second invoice was more difficult because I was unable to find the diagnosis in the drop down menu. It then states if you can't find the diagnosis put it in the description box. When I tried to submit it said unable to process the claim. So I picked one from the drop down menu that was the closest and included the description of the diagnosis in the box. I was able to submit it but unsure if it will be processed. I will wait and see.

I am sorry to have changed insurance from Nationwide. The claim process is cumbersome and they keep asking me to contact my vet for my 3 dogs history, something they should have done last year. I strongly advice pet owners to avoid this company…

We will be looking for a new insurer or frankly it's probably better to put the money into a rainy day savings account.
I might also add that it is very difficult logging into their site and forget getting email responses.

I spoke with an insurance lady on the phone. She was very eager to get my business. And was very energetic and excited and gave me a lot of information. I signed up. Then I tried to set up my account and I was having a hard time, I called her and asked her to call me back and I never heard back from her. I found that disappointing.
Embrace - False advertising. Waiting period for Ortho injuries including breaks
I read the entire policy and website before signing up. I even read their sample policy. After signing up, I tried to get a copy of the orthopedic report card only to find out that they no longer accept it despite what the website and policy state. Rest assured I'll be filing a lawsuit if something happens to my dog before I can switch him to a better company. If they can't even follow their own policy or website, you definitely can't trust these guys. I'll be filing a bbb complaint as well. Go elsewhere.

Didn't have a problem with the insurance, but clear they want to give you the best price possible only initially as my monthly price went up 65% (nothing out of the ordinary for my pup). They couldn't provide me with any specific reasons over the phone, so I've obtained plenty of other quotes from companies and will change. Not sure I'd recommend, maybe for the first year!
