Over the years AKC Pet Insurance has in our perception downgraded the insurance, paying less, and limiting amounts more. For the day to day things I'm not so impressed. We've had coverage for 9 years.

Did not get clear answers to my questions regarding recent reimbursement coverage

I'm shocked that so many people have rated this insurance plan so highly. This is the first time I've filed a claim and I hope to never have to file a claim again. It seems that if your vet doesn't fax in all your pet's medical history ( I think after almost a month of dealing with this I've learned what the issue is. The emergency vet clinic has been emailing petplan my dog's records instead of faxing)this has resulted in my claim not even being looked at until all the documents are in. While the representatives on the phone have been polite no one can seem to locate these records. How can an organization only have one method of receiving documents? This has been an extremely frustrating and exhausting experience. I'm extremely dissatisfied.

Not as much is covered anymore. One prescription for Apoquel got a deductible of $l25.00 First time I saw that. ???? Next time the resulting refund was normal, or much the same as previous claims. Why don't you cover impacted anal glands? The dog and I stay up nights with the problem until we can get to the vet for relief.

Wij hebben een waterschade door het toiletreservoir wat gescheurd is. Nu krijgen we te horen dat de oorzaak niet vergoed wordt. Alleen de schade aan de muur. Ik vraag je, waarom sluit je nog een verzekering af als je toch niets uitgekeerd krijgt.

Zelf was prima, maar Nowgo vreselijk, ik stuur via de website een bericht voor wijzigen van de premie, krijg een standaard mail terug dat het aangepast is, en dat nieuwe polis in de bijlage zit. Geen bijlage en een week later ingelogd, en geen wijziging te zien. Toen gemaild, weer automatische mail terug maar geen wijziging. Na een week maar whatsapp gestuurd, bericht terug dat het aangepast is, maar ipv annulering aangezet te hebben wordt medische kosten aangezet, en als ik er wat van zeg, krijg ik het bericht: Dat heb ik niet aangepast, dat was al zo. Terwijl ik de vorige polis voor me heb en het écht niet zo was. Pas nadat ik hier foto's van stuur krijg ik een excuus en wordt het aangepast.. Het is dat het nu goed is en ik bang ben voor gezeik als ik wil afmelden maar niet erg tevreden! Laat ik hopen dat ik de verzekering nooit nodig heb want heb er weinig vertrouwen in

Klantenservice? Welnee. Die leest geen mail, helpt geen klanten en beweert de grootst mogelijk onzin. Maar service verlenen? Verstand van zaken? Dat niet. Geen enkele vraag kan knap beantwoord worden. Betalingen of vragen negeren ze. Belachelijk slechte service.

I am new to pet insurance. So far the process seems to benefit the insurance co not the insured. Time will tell. Hopefully I will never need the use the coverage but it is there and I think I’ve added enough extra benefit riders to cover exclusions.
