Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.

Embrace - If I could give this a zero star…
If I could give this a zero star review, I would. Have been with Embrace for @ 12 years and never have I had an issue with them. I was told, (not documented by Embrace) that my renewal premium would be @ $985. What to my surprise and wondering eyes did I see but a charge to my credit card of $1449.00! I never received their renewal quote, nor was the renewal premium what I was told. But they have you over a barrel since my pup has a pre-exisiting condition which would not be covered by other plans. So I either don't have him treated for a year and let him suffer (would never do that) or pay all the expenses out of pocket OR renew with Embrace which I was forced to do.
Embrace - Horrible company
Unfortunately, this is your typical insurance company where they take your money and when you need to file a claim they'll do whatever possible to deny your claim. Then after denying your claim they'll raise your premiums really high. Horrible company and will never recommend or do business with them again!
Embrace - Done with this company
Done with this company. Bait and switch as usual.
ManyPets - No Good
Terrible and now they are getting rid of there insurance and is offing us ODIE pet insurance and premium s doubled and less benefits.
Embrace - Absolute scam artists
Absolute scam artists. They'll find any way possible to deny your claim, break it down into pieces, classify every possible thing as "wellness", classify all the rest as within your waiting period or a pre-existing condition, and put another lump into the deductible - if they even process anything, because half the time they complain about missing paperwork or medical history. You're lucky if you get anything out of them. Even for a $1500 accident / injury vet episode on a single pet, you might get $500 back - but then think of the hundreds you already paid them to insure the pet for the year. And that assumes your pet actually has any health problems that year. Every time I open this website, I get angry. I've had to fight them for coverage multiple times. We have policies on three pets (two cats and a dog).
TLDR: Not even half of your vet expenses are covered under their policy, and you still have to meet deductibles.
* Unless you pay for "wellness rewards", which is just paying in advance for services you might not even use, for the pleasure of maybe getting your money back.
The only reason we still have this is in case something really bad happens - cancer, broken bones, whatever. I don't know, maybe you get your money back when your pets age, but by then you'll be earning more anyway, and the money will mean less to you than it does now. For healthy pets, this is a ripoff of epic proportions, and it will grind your gears every time you have to deal with them.
Embrace - We have been paying insurance for our 4…
We have been paying insurance for our 4 year rescue for two years, no issues to take your money, no requirements or docs needed. Now that we needed to file a claim. They want history from before the adoption which doesn't exist since she was a stray. They keep asking for the same information which doesn't exist. And keep denying the claim.
Stay away from them.
Nationwide - Will never ever recommend NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE
So my dog she is 12 years old now. It was originally VPI "veterinarians pet insurance" when we rescued her at 2 months old. They were great for the very small claims anything under two $300 they will cover me before 40% of it. However 2 years ago she had major surgery which cost $8,700 to remove bladder stones at the animal hospital so it was an emergency. Submit all the claims and all Nationwide covered was
$895. Of course I called them several times after that and submitted the paperwork several times however nothing else was done so I bit the bullet cuz I love my dog very much and I paid out of my pocket $7700. Okay so 2 years now she needs her gallbladder removed. And of course the surgery is $7,600 at the animal hospital and again contact Nationwide and $895 again. So even though I have the middle tier I asked them what if I had the best insurance through them which is the higher tier how much would you have covered? $1,900 was the response. I said to them what surgery do you see that cost $1,900. Listen I'll expect them to cover everything of course but even if they were covered half of this I would have found that acceptable. Now at this point I cannot afford this so eventually she is going to die. Of course getting her gallbladder removed we can of course hopefully pray that we get several more years out of her. Even the surgeon and everyone else says they should be covering at least 80%, however so this is why I want to write this review please stay away from Nationwide regardless of what it is pet insurance home insurance car insurance anything from them they are definitely not on your side. You have no idea how upset I am cuz now we're talking about a life over money. I'll leave it at that.
Embrace - Zero If the website allowed me
Zero If the website allowed me. Please, I urge you to go read Embrace's reviews and responses to said reviews on the BBB website. The reviews are more detailed so you know EXACTLY what Embrace's does and does NOT due after they have taken your money!
Bottom line: They don't review your pet's medical history prior to purchasing a policy. They self diagnosis your pet with pre-existing conditions and illnesses even when a Vet has NOT, even with medical documentation of no such condition/illness. Then deny, deny, deny!
Embrace - Policy coverage is misleading…
The policy isn’t very clear with regard to coverage. The policy indicated most things were covered up to 90% but that is not the case. Apparently we need the Wellness Rewards program for better coverage but that wasn’t communicated anywhere. Our pets already have a wellness plan. Unfortunately we only got back about half of the expenses incurred during the emergency visit.
We will likely not renew in February.
Trupanion Canada - Do not go through Trupanion read this first!
Do not go through Trupanion. I have a six-year-old dog and I have invested $7000. Anytime I put in a claim Trupanion tells me, “she has a pre-existing condition” which is not true. I purchased my dog at 1 year old. How could she have a pre-existing condition at age one. I purchased her from a breeder and she was a show dog before I owned her. I would advise anyone looking at getting pet insurance to not go through Trupanion as they are just a money grab. I have now cancelled my insurance because I have already invested enough for a surgery or two which my dog doesn’t need. I have waisted my money on Trupanion to get 0 coverage in return.
