ASPCA - The money that ASPCA gets in donations…
The money that ASPCA gets in donations 46% of that money goes to payroll for the CEO and the employees the CEO makes over $1 million dollars a year with several employees making over $100,000 a year not much of the money reaches any animals it's all going in the pockets of greedy people
Spot - It's ok
I am spending more on Insurance then at the vet. I am not sure the cost is worth the benefit.
The APP is easy and submitting for reimbursement is quick. Again, not sure it is worth the price, though.
Fetch - Signing up for pet insurance was made…
Signing up for pet insurance was made easy and the person who helped me was very thorough and obviously cared. However, the plan didn’t cover as much as it claimed to. I could have saved money if I just laid everything out of pocket. The coverage is so little. My $300+ claim was reimbursed $50 and there was no explanation of benefits. The document was blank/error, even for the support person I reached out to. She ended up sending me a breakdown of coverage and it was NOT what I remember signing for. The coverage was MUCH less. I honestly regret getting insurance but I don’t regret trying to get my kitten covered.
Pets Best - Great idea, but no reimbursements
The policy language is so vauge, that it allows much to be interpreted by Pet's Best. After being loyal customers for almost five years, we are hit with claim denial after claim denial. Who knew a dog aspirating on liquid (drinking too quickly) would not be considered an accidental injury?
The veterinary medical books certainly say so, but the experts at Pet's Best were quick to slap the denial stamp down.
Don't give up on claim denials; try your appeal and if they continue to deny, file a complaint with your State Department of Insurance. We must hold these companies accountable for collecting our premiums but refusing to pay claims.
Do yourself a favor and just move the money that you would spend on inflated premiums into a high yield savings account. At least then, you'll be confident that the bill will be paid.
Spot - No Better Than The Rest
I chose Spot this time partially because they supposedly have better comprehensive and dental coverage than other companies. My dog has a fractured a tooth and may need a root canal to save it. I understand that the policy does not cover a root canal procedure, but now they tell me that they will not cover any expenses associated with it even though the exact same expenses (exam, x-rays and anesthesia) would be covered for an extraction. I plan on changing to a company I can trust!
PetPartners - Put your $ in savings instead
I'm paying Pet Partners $1,750 a year for two dogs, for them to reimburse me 15-20% of my dogs' annual preventative exam fees. I would be better served putting $125 a month into savings, and if the dogs don't get sick, keeping the $ set aside for a rainy day in the future in the event they ever do. Instead, 2024 will have passed, I am about $2,200 that I will never get back and I am sick over it. A total of $1,750 in premiums, $650 in pet expenses, and I was reimbursed a total of $190. This is by far the most idiotic way I have ever spent my money, and what's worse is I didn't the reimbursement back prior to open enrollment and so I enrolled for another year. This feels like the ultimate gotcha moment. I actually feel like quitting my job just to get out of the premiums. Isn't that terrible.
Embrace - Fairly easy to use but time consuming
I liked how easy and straight forward the claim submission process is, however: selecting a provider is the slowest I've seen, and trying to type is a provider name is VERY difficult. Also, asking people to pick just one diagnosis is very difficult, especially when you take your pet in for limping (as an example), but the pet also received her vaccines. Lastly, please remember the provider and the pet and use them as defaults, and allow us to change them if anything changed. Also, providing this feedback shouyld be greatly streamlined.
Embrace - I have had claims "on hold" for months
I have had claims "on hold" for months. I have submitted the requested information several times. you are asking for a 12-month medical history on dogs i got at 10 weeks old. the last time i was told i would receive an e-mail within 48 hours. that was several weeks ago. i notice there is never a delay in your taking the monthly premiums. what am i paying for if you won't process my claims or contact me. now i have to deal with this while recovering from surgery.
Embrace - Claims not initially being covered!
The last couple claims I have had to fight for denied line items because they were clearly covered (which they ended up being) instead of Embrace following up with needing information and then I have to follow up MULTIPLE times before things are resolved. I have been a customer since 2018, referred MULTIPLE people and have not had these issues until recently. Very disappointing.
Pumpkin - Everything thing is a preexisting…
Everything thing is a preexisting condition. Your denial just says because of a preexisting condition. I then have to ask for an explanation for the determination. The explanation is weak at best.
