Embrace - One of the most unethical business…
One of the most unethical business operations is this company. They do not honor their contract, come up with any excuses to deny significant claims, and operate criminally. They’ve denied all claims ! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They invest heavily in marketing, but check out BBB complaints against them. Furthermore, they increase premiums up to 80% after one year. Such a fraudulent operation and behave criminally and violate contracts. They should be sued!!!!! Do your best and avoid the hype with their marketing and read their REAL reviews.
Trupanion - raising the payments monthly?!
how can I go from 170 to 240 to 260 in three months? Isn't the price for each pup supposed to stay the same? instead for 2 years now the prices have been going up at least ten dollars every month or so often. When will the price increases stop? i barely use my insurance.
MetLife - This is a scam
I submitted my puppy's emergency vet claim on December 8, 2024, and since then, I have contacted MetLife daily, only to receive inconsistent answers regarding the status and processing time of my claim. Their app and website misleadingly state that processing takes 5 to 10 days, but it's clear that this is far from the truth, as I have received no updates after that period.
My dog had a follow-up appointment and is due for another one, but I cannot afford this additional cost while MetLife holds $2,200 of my emergency funds. This situation is unacceptable, and I am deeply frustrated with what appears to be a scam. I am concerned that when they finally review my claim—likely in six months—they will deny it altogether.
I expected better from this insurance, especially since I pay my premium automatically through my employer. At this point, my only option is to wait the official 30 days and then escalate this matter to the State of Michigan and pursue legal action if necessary.
Embrace - seems to have gone downhill
seems to have gone downhill, in my claim submissions
give them what they need and they make something more out of visit then it is, to get out of paying on claim

I have had my puppy since June, and I have submitted every piece of paperwork to MetLife regarding her care. After being diagnosed with pneumonia at the emergency vet, she required an overnight stay for lifesaving treatment. I have uploaded all relevant documents, including every SOAP note, vet bill, and her adoption paperwork. When I last reached out to MetLife, I was informed that each time I upload new documents, it adds an additional 10 days to my processing time. This means I am now facing an unacceptable 100 days of processing time, and I expect a prompt resolution.
Embrace - My experience with Embrace Pet Insurance
Recently had our first claim with Embrace after 2 years of membership. They asked for history of vet visits which I dutifully provided, only to have them use that to deny every claim. Even though the Vet Neurology Specialist wrote a letter to Embrace stating the the reason for our claim had nothing to do with earlier visits. Additionally, they decided that because a skin tag I asked our vet to look at was too small at the time to biopsy, our dog will be denied possible future cancer care because it is a “pre-existing condition”. The skin tag has since dried up and fallen off, but makes no difference.
Lemonade - Labor Intensive!
IU've had Lemonade for 2 years and I will be grateful to be rid of them soon. They encourage claims to be submitted via cell phone. They don't cover any "alternative methods" which I knew from the beginning. When I tried to submit a claim via cell, it was difficult. First, they wanted vet notes, that was fine. Then they wanted everything broken down into separate costs. Jess helped me so much and it took her a few days to tell me what I was due. I find the "fur baby" syndrome off-putting and they have other cute little titles. When I wanted to submit my 1st claim, they asked me for a photo of Tachi. I told them I didn't have time. I wondered why they wasted so much of my time. Healthy Paws and Embrace were wonderful. I didn't ever feel that submitting a claim was difficult. With Lemonade, I was asked for the blood tests, the vet notes and anything else they might want. I don't like working on my phone because it was so difficult to break down costs, as Lemonade asked for them. I was told that I could do everything that could rival Embrace and Healthy Pets. How wrong they were. I have never encountered such a complicated process to simply submit a claim. Maybe others are more agile on the cell phone. I do a lot of things on my phone but anything to do with money is from my laptop. Soon we'll be freed from their clutches and that will be a happy day.
ASPCA - I was upset by the new medical records…
I was upset by the new medical records requirement. The bill states what was done. So why medical records for any visit? I don’t have time for this addd burden
Pets Best - Dissatisfied customer
When you send all the paperwork, and then they lied to me, saying they contacted my vet clinic to get my dogs full history. In fact I had to call my Vet and get my dogs medical history for them to process a claim. I’m not getting paid to do their job, so in return they should reimburse me for doing their.
A very dissatisfied customer

Spot - Like every insurance this one is a rip…
Like every insurance this one is a rip off.
Don’t be fooled no 90% back and they completely denied all of my claims for my dog.
I pay a monthly premium of $150 for nothing. Disgusting horrible insurance only to know I was left with a $2500 bill.
