Spot - Spot insurance is a fraud
Spot insurance is a fraud! Totally a waste of money! Processing time, even if you include all the correct documents takes up to 10 business days! They try not to pay for things that you are covered by and you have to fight with them about it and threaten to sue. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS INSURANCE.
Fetch - Fetch Insurance has the worst customer service
Fetch Insurance has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. After dealing with them, we decided to switch to Embrace Pet Insurance, which was not only more affordable but also offered a far better experience.
The tipping point with Fetch came a month ago when we submitted a claim. They rejected it, claiming the issue wasn’t covered, even though when we signed up, they specifically told us cases like this would be covered. When I reached out for clarification on what exactly the upgraded wellness plan covered—trying to justify the extra cost—they responded with an incredibly passive-aggressive email. Instead of addressing my concerns, they suggested that if I wasn’t happy, I could call to discontinue their service. That incident left a sour taste, and we decided it was time to move on.
Over the past few months, we’ve transitioned to Embrace, and now that my Embrace policy is fully active, I called Fetch today to cancel. The experience was just as bad as before. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes—which I could tolerate—the customer service representative who finally answered was condescending and unapologetic. When he asked why I was canceling, I told him it was due to their rude customer service. He completely ignored my response and said dismissively, “Oh, so you already switched then? Okay, all right, you should get an email soon. We’ll cancel your service tomorrow.”
Note - I’m not upset about my claim being denied—I understand that businesses need to make money to pay their employees, and I can sympathize with that. What I can’t tolerate, however, is the blatantly rude, negative, and sarcastic attitude of two random Fetch agents I happened to interact with. Either I’ve had extremely bad luck, or Fetch has so many poorly trained agents that even random interactions result in bad experiences. How does a company like Fetch manage to survive in this day and age with such terrible customer service? And how are they still popular?
I've been largely happy with Embrace from a service level. In this particular instance I found myself extremely frustrated. This is regardless of whatever decisions they make regarding my claim. I tried to do everything through the app.
The app tried to force me to upload a photo rather than the much easier pdf I received from my vet. By the time I printed the PDF so that I could take a photo, the app constantly and repeatedly crashed. I ultimately completed the claim submission via the website (using the actual PDF from my vet,) but found the submission process very frustrating.
ASPCA - NOW I UNDERSTAND THE 1 STAR REVIEWS.
I was told that an invoice I sent for preventative care would take two to four weeks to process...for yearly checkup and shots. They have no problem debiting my credit card on time each month. I got this insurance in July and this is my first claim. DO BETTER.
Trupanion - I have a two year old Ragdoll cat
I have a two year old Ragdoll cat. I got Trupanion insurance for her when she was three months old thinking it was very good. At her six month physical she was diagnosed with gingivitis and would need a $1500 cleaning. I thought no problem, I have pet insurance so it will be covered since dental problems are covered. To my surprise cleanings aren’t covered even for medical reasons. I had to pay for the cleaning out-of-pocket and now since this is a pre-existing condition if I switch insurance companies no dental procedures will be covered. When I had originally called to get information on Trupanion, they said they covered dental extraction and dental problems. Foolishly, I didn’t ask if dental cleanings were covered for medical reasons. I have a 12 year-old cat who I got pet insurance for through FIGO at 11 years old. His premium is $35 a month. The medical insurance I have through Trupanion started out at $25 a month went to $28 a month and now it’s $35 a month for a 2 1/2 year-old cat with no problems other than gingivitis. I am so disappointed in Trupanion. Buyer beware.
Trupanion - They post false information on website
They post false information on website. Expect yearly amounts to raise to the point you would be better off putting money in your own bank. At first I liked the service but the company has totally changed. Now I. Stuck at there mercy but don't recommend for new customers.
Fetch - Terrible Insurance
Terrible insurance carrier.
Healthy Paws - Beware
Beware! I paid then cancelled in a lotted time (like immediately) and requested stop payment but they went a head and took 2 months out. Called them and nothing was resolved.
Fetch Canada - I was told there was no paperwork or…
I was told there was no paperwork or vet exam needed and have requested the transcript of that call, and I have not received any response to my 3 emails. As a result of bad information from the Fetch representative telling me no vet exam or paperwork was needed, and that wasn’t the whole truth I being told no, believing didn’t get paperwork done because I was told there was no paperwork, and now I have a claim, and now the representative tells me I did need paperwork and a specific exam and specific paperwork to be done and my dogs very costly diagnostics and needed surgery costs are denied and not approved. I’m disgusted by this.
Fetch Canada - Only about the money
I have witnessed my premiums skyrocket in the past 4 years from $400 to my latest premium of almost $1100, with having NO claims submitted during this time. Beware, run like hell, it’s all about money for this company. I enquired that, because I had no claims submitted, would my premiums offer some sort of a reduction. Answer was a flat no. Pathetic Company
