ASPCA - Very disappointed
Very disappointed. I was excited to find a reasonably priced pet insurance at ASPCA. I have a rescue dog that I got at the end of May 2024. In June of 2024, I took him to the vet (prior to my ASPCA insurance policy) because he had been stung by a wasp near his eye. The eye swelled shut. The vet said he had an allergic reaction to the sting. Now, several months later he started having skin issues on his neck. After repeated vet visits, the skin issues were resolved. The vet (different from the first vet due to my relocation) said the issues were caused by a seasonal allergy. ASPCA denied my claim for the skin issues, citing "an existing condition". So apparently the insect bite reaction and the seasonal allergy are the exact same thing. They also said that ANY claim regarding an allergic reaction will be denied going forward. So that's how they can be so reasonably priced, by denying all claims. Thanks ASPCA.
Embrace - Company refused to cover a new…
Company refused to cover a new condition(ear allergies) because my dog had an ear infection 9 months ago. These are two unrelated conditions with two seperate causes. I am appealing the decision.

Absolutely ridiculous that I was not notified that the direct deposit bounced back and I’m still waiting for the refund check. I’ve called on this 3 times! I will likely be cancelling my policy!

Honestly thought the reimbursement payments would be much closer to actual totals and when needed for my dogs surgery it was only 1/4 of an emergency surgery for the better quality of life for my dog and unfortunately was unable to afford the surgery so my dog continues to suffer.

Nationwide - Delayed insurance coverage
Agent been contacted by anyone. And my insurance keeps getting pushed back on activation date. But you take my money!
Embrace - I'm spending more with this policy than I would simply out of pocket
This year I increased my deductible 100% for each of my 2 cats and my cost still went up over $20 a month. Then when my 2 otherwise healthy cats needed dental treatment, less than $75 was covered, and none of the rest of the $2500 (for both cats) even went towards their deductible. I'll be canceling these two policies as soon as they expire and will be starting my own FSA (feline savings account) for my two cats. I've paid WAY more WITH this insurance policy than I would have without.
Trupanion - Waiting period wasn’t clear
Waiting period wasn’t clear. Claim was denied because the visit was the same day. I feel you prey on people in emotional times doing whatever they can to help their animals in a crisis situation.
Nationwide - This is the 4th canine I now have…
This is the 4th canine I now have insured under Nationwide. It continues to amaze me that a company as large as Nationwide has a pet insurance site that reminds me an old dos version of software. You need to bring a contemporary look to the site. Also, it is ridiculous that after having 3 other canines registered on the site, I still have to enter the full information about my bio. You would think you would have that information readily available so I don't have to reenter the same information a 4th time! You need a very badly updated website. Also, the response time to inquires is very slow!
