Embrace - Simplify for Grooming Expenses
There is some difficulty in inputting on line for a grooming expense if you have that on your insurance plan. It would be easier to have a separate section, non medical, to hit that tab, date, download receipt, name the pet and go forward. I always have to find the other options when your system wants a diagosis,
Spot - Could be better
Honestly paying so much money for pet insurance and not getting at least half or more reimbursement is not the best. There are other pet insurance that reimburse more. Will be switching over to a new pet insurance.
Trupanion - Significant premium increase every year
I have 3 pets using Trupanion. What’s frustrating is the significant premium increase every year. They claim it’s due to increases in medical care across the board and so every member needs to pay more. I wish it was based more on an individual basis and claims submitted. The blanket increase seems unfair. For one dog it’s going up $20 per month even though I’ve never submitted a claim for her.
UPDATE in response to Trupanion reply:
While I appreciate that you say this, that’s not been my experience. For all people that read this review see below the latest monthly change in my premium. The year it doesn’t go up I’ll be sure to update my review.
Pet #1- $74.75 to $101.25
Pet #2- $70.04 to $89.41
Pet #3- $75.74 to $85.09
Trupanion Canada - Get it early or not at all
Classic insurance company
Will deny coverages for existing conditions but charge you like your getting covered for absolutely everything.
I think my premiums just about doubled in 6 years with no claims.
My personal experience would have cost me over 7000 dollars for the term of my policy to be rejected on my first and only claim to cover to euthanize my pet versus putting him through a 3rd back surgery which wouldn't have been covered by them either. Appearntly if the reasoning for being euthanized has anything to do with a prior condition they won't cover it......it's not about the couple dollars I didn't get reimbursed but more about the slimey reasoning that they use to justify this denial all while keeping their hands out for your ever increasing monthly payment.
Do yourself a favor and put the equivalent In a savings account.
Spot - You guys even when the veterinary…
You guys even when the veterinary office send you the information don't thrust, that way I don't like people like you liars & theft who refuse to pay the coverage.
If happen 1 time , maybe, but was several times.
Spot - Very dissatisfied with the bill…
Very dissatisfied with the bill coverage. Constantly either only getting a 1/3 of the cost, or nothing at all. Cost of the insurance vs. what we get reimbursed has not been worthwhile. Cancelling very soon and moving elsewhere. Such a shame.
Fetch Canada - Misleading, Terrible Insurance for Older Pets. Wellness is Not Worth It.
If I could rate Fetch zero or even negative stars, I would.
The only type of client that could possibly have a grand time with Fetch is one with a brand new kitten or puppy that has yet to see a vet and has no known health conditions whatsoever. Older pets, even if just rescued/adopted, will rarely have successful claims as they likely have records of some kind of condition that Fetch will reject from review outright.
It's very easy to sign up with Fetch, but also very easy to not find out what classifies as a pre-existing condition. Gingivitis? Your dental cleanings won't be covered even with their Wellness add-on (which barely covers anything). What kills me is that this is a very treatable condition, namely in the early stages, but they will reject your claim if gingivitis was recorded in any previous records before your policy starts. Sorry for wanting to make sure my cat was healthy and had a vet for emergencies after rescuing/adopting him because he had no records? What even is the point of dental coverage if they don't cover general cleanings with or without gingivitis? Complete waste of money.
They might as well be UHC for pets. Guaranteed to reject your claim so they can keep profits. We may have paid for the year already, but we will be cancelling our plan immediately after realizing Fetch is a waste of time and so much money.
I highly recommend looking elsewhere or putting those payments into your own emergency account - might as well fund coverage ourselves if we're going to be forced to pay up with useless insurance policies.
Trupanion - Very expensive
Very expensive plans and they are full of exceptions/ restrictions and co-pays,
Always looking for a reason or exception on not covering situation at hand.
And the rates that were suppose to be locked in are not,
Embrace - Wellness reward program is so costly…
Wellness reward program is so costly and a scam for anyone who isn’t shopping around for a better plan. Maxed out “benefits” within 6 months. Turns out our offers an unlimited rewards program for only $7 more. Make sure to shop around.
Spot - Wellness portion of policy not worth it
The amount covered is so small compared to the amount I have to pay for wellness care to make this part of the policy not worth it. Considering looking for a different provider or none at all if you're all like this.
