Embrace - claims more than a month…
I submitted my claims more than a month ago. Every time I sent messages or emails I didn’t get any response. I submitted all required papers from my veterinarian. I just got the response it can take up to a month. Finally I got an email saying that my claims are on “review” and I should wait. The worst insurance ever.
Trupanion - They don’t cover anything
They don’t cover anything. There is a waiting period and nothing goes to the deductible you select and the premium is high for this.

If I could give zero stars I would. They totally f’d me over:
1) they issued me two policies instead of adding wellness to mine
2) they then rejected my wellness claims stating that they are not covered in my policy because I had two (which their sales person actually advised me on)
3) when we escalated the issue it took 3 months and still no resolution
I have cancelled my policy now and going with another provider. Please do not go with them!! Keep yourself and your pet safe by sticking to a better provider. Luigi knew what was up with these insurance firms

We certainly understand a premium increase is never ideal, but premiums do increase over time with all insurance products and pet insurance is no exception. The premium increase is not currently based on your pet's individual health status or the claims you've personally submitted, but on our entire book of business (the overall actuarial data) based on your pet's age, breed, sex, and the location where you reside. The main factors that impact premiums each year include the age of a pet, tenure of the policy, and inflation which includes the increase in veterinary costs.
Over the lifetime with any pet insurance company you are likely to see very similar trends, it just may vary when the increase happens. However, Embrace structures our policies to allow each pet parent to change coverage parameters to adjust the premium based on what they feel is best for their individual pet and situation. Pets Plus Us - Good until they decide to discontinue your insurance and provide you with a new one that is triple the price and way less coverage
I've been a customer for over 7 years and suddenly and coincidently after my dog has been needing reimbursement for illnesses, they have discontinued my insurance and will only provide me with one that is 3x the price and with way less coverage. Before this change I was paying $50 a month for $1500 per illness/accident. Now they have offered me with $160 a month for $3000 max a year. I cannot change this plan without my dog's current conditions being excluded (what I need the insurance for). I cannot switch providers because my dog's current conditions will not be included. If I were to sign up with the same company for the first time I would pay $170 for $7500 yearly coverage. The kicker is that they knew in December that this was going to happen - before my dog's issues - but only told me in February, 1.5 months before I get to decide if I want to continue coverage. Needless to say, this experience has taught me that this is an insurance company. They are trying to make money, not trying to help me and my dog out.
MetLife - I have had a horrible experience with…
I have had a horrible experience with MetLife Pet insurance. They do a great job of selling the program, but when it comes time to pay you back for the claims once you hit your deductible, they continually find reasons why they can’t honor that claim it has been unbelievable. I spend hours on the phone and still get nothing done. Don’t do it!
MetLife - Worst insurance company ever
Worst insurance company ever. Took a month to process claims, claim was approved seven days ago and still have no idea when it will be paid. I have called Customer Service several times and their only answer is "Citi Bank will contact you". I (stupidly) paid for a year in advance so I am stuck with this dismal company until December.

covers nothing, really a scam and much better off never to use this company
