Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
Pumpkin - Worst insurance company
Worst insurance company. Got them for my 4 month old puppy and have denied every insurance claim linking it to a skin allergy prior to getting insurance. Very disappointed. I should have stuck with a little more expensive and reliable company. I have Nationwide for my other dog who is 10 years old and have no issues.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Using AI in their advertisement…
Using AI in their advertisement wouldn’t trust them with my dogs life . Spammed full of extra fees as well would absolutely not recommend this only it’s very last resort normal vets are a lot better .
ASPCA Pet Insurance - SCAM
SCAM! Beware! They take your money but no claim is ever covered! I paid the covered for 2 years, submitted claims but they denyed coverage on everything so 100% out of pocket and 100% loss on policy cost. That is horsecrap!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Collected my monthly fee for over a year
Update based on their reply:
Spot Pet Insurance - Had expensive medical bill including…
Had expensive medical bill including vaccinations as well as other services and only pay insurance payed $20. It would be cheaper just to open a savings account and save the monthly costs for future use rather than just continuing to pay insurance.
Figo Pet Insurance - I purchased pet insurance from Figo…
I purchased pet insurance from Figo through my Costco executive membership in September 2024. When we opened the policy, I spent several hours of my time compiling vet records for both of our dogs to make sure any future claims would be processed smoothly. Despite this time and effort. Every single claim I've filed (4 in total between the two dogs) has been followed up with an email stating that Figo doesn't have appropriate documentation to move forward. They also send an email to our vet asking for any and all of records on our dogs. I have contacted customer service on multiple occasions regarding this issue, and each time I call I get a different explanation. Initially, I was told it's just something that happens with the first 2 claims and will resolve on its own. Unfortunately, that turned out to be false. My most recent phone call I was told "that email gets sent out automatically because most people aren't on top of their pet records." I asked, "is any way to prevent this from happening in the future because all of our records are on file." I was told, "well I can put in a note in your file, so hopefully people will see it". At the end of the phone call, it was evident that there's basically nothing she could do. Chances are that for every future claim we will likely receive an insufficient records notice. Additionally, we just moved to a new home, and I called on April 21st, 2025, to update the address on file. I spoke to Destini on the phone, and she updated our address, but failed to mention that there would be a cost increase in our premium. On the morning of April 23rd, 2025, I received an email from Figo that both of our policies would be cancelled effective May 22nd, 2025, "after unsuccessful attempts to collect the premium". Our plan is on auto pay, and I confirmed on my bank statement that the payment was withdrawn on April 14th, 2025, for both dogs. I called customer service this morning and spoke with Aisha (sp?) who informed me that there was a premium increase associated with our move and that the additional amount was never charged to the card on file. Figo never even tried to process the charges despite the cancellation email stating otherwise. Aisha offered to run the card on file and remove policy cancellation notice from our account. She also stated that she would send an email confirmation of both payments for my records since we've had so many issues. Both payments went through, but no confirmation emails from Aisha and the policy cancellation notice is still on our account. Overall, I am tired of having to contact customer service frequently for issues with our account, and despite my best efforts it doesn't feel like anything gets resolved. In my opinion, this plan is too expensive to have this many issues. I'm hoping to cancel soon and would not recommend this company to others.
Spot Pet Insurance - It’s so expensive and doesn’t cover…
It’s so expensive and doesn’t cover nearly enough. My one dog’s monthly rate just increased $60/month with no warning. We’re paying nearly $300/month for one dog and not even half of his last wellness visit was covered.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - I have had my now 10 year old mixed…
I have had my now 10 year old mixed breed dog covered through ASPCA for the entire 8 years I have had him. 5 of 7 recently submitted bills were denied due to pre-existing conditions. I called customer support who indicated that on 3-23-2023 my dog was treated for the same thing on my 3-2025 bill and therefore it was a pre-existing condition. First of all on 3-23-2023 my dog went to the vet for vaccines, nothing to do with the 2025 visit. In any event,
Spot Pet Insurance - Extreme increases to annual premium (50%)
My policy has increased 50% for a single cat that hasn’t had any claims since starting with this company. I reached out and was told the increase was "necessary due to either the age of your pet, advances in veterinary medicine, or an update to the coverage that your policy provides". I compared the new policy to the last and there was no change in coverage. My cat is 12. The premium went from $742.92 to $1,113.72. In my opinion they are preying on pet parents. If you already have a policy, be sure to login to the site often and diligently check your mail towards your annual date because your payment could increase over $30/m.
Spot Pet Insurance - Bait and Switch scam.
This company is horrible! What a scam they pull. We adopted a Golden Retriever in July 2024. Purchased pet insurance from Spot and chose “Accident Only”. We passed all waiting periods and made monthly payments on time. Cut to March 2025, my dog became injured in the backyard after his morning walk. He was playing and running, and slipped in the wet grass. He then became unwilling to stand and unwilling to walk as the afternoon progressed. We made the decision to take him to emergency vet where radiographs were taken and pain meds and anti inflammatory given. We then submitted a claim which was promptly denied as we didn’t provide an “exact and specific time” for the incident. We immediately appealed and provided ALL of his medical records AGAIN (this was also done at the application time). The appeal was just denied. What an absolute bait and switch this company pulled. Be very aware of doing business with them.
