Trupanion - Premium almost doubled moving from…
Premium almost doubled moving from Hawaii to California. None of our recent trips are covered. You need to add basic pet visits to it. Personally wouldn’t go through them after my experience. I could only imagine if my pet has to do a major procedure like some of these owners. Go elsewhere. Waiting for a cookie cutter response from their team for this.
Nationwide - No one ever call me back
No one ever call me back ! I had an issue with my polices and no one call me to help with my issue ! I had a pet Keith nationwide for 7 years and I thought I would be treated better! The sales rep never called me back to explain to me what happen with my polices ! Once I sign up I can't get a call back to explain to me why he mis quoted me on my polices ! Once my money clear I can't get in touch with him or anyone who can answer
My questions! Please have someone email me back and help me with my issue! I can explain more when they do!
Trupanion - Nearly impossible to get them to pay for anything.
Be aware that this does not function like normal insurance. EVERY SINGLE part of their body or ailment requires a separate deductible. Consultations are never covered. I paid for this insurance for 11.5 years with zero claims. When my dog finally got arthritis, I have had $5000 in vet bills this year, but because they break out all the body parts separately, you will have a separate $1000 deductible for each body part. They will also make tons of reasons not to cover conditions. For instance, if you don't get your dog's teeth cleaned every year, they won't cover anything in the mouth. Trupanion is a scam. Put your money in a bank account for when something happens. You will be better prepared to handle their medical expenses. If they don't need it, you have an extra investment account.
Nationwide - I have a problem
I have a problem. I can't log in to my account. And I still haven't received the card in my mail.
Embrace - My problem it was not resolved
My problem it was not resolved, so I’m gonna cancel my policy
Fetch - This has been horrible and I am about…
This has been horrible and I am about ready to cancel my policy. I put in a claim stating that there is no vet between the time I adopted Blitz and the emergency clinic. My claim has been put on hold several times stating that I need to provide all medical information between those times. There is no information. I cannot provide something that does not exist. It is obvious that Fetch does not want to pay claims after I have paid the premiums. Horrible, horrible service.
Trupanion - Trupanions Bait & Switch pet insurances policy
I bought this pet insurance when my puppy was about 13 weeks w no pre-existing conditions. One year later, that’s still true.
Although the premium was almost double comparable insurers, it seemed worth it, because the TRUPANION PROMISE is your rate will never increase with the dog’s age!!
Now for the BAIT & SWITCH!! After 1 year, my pet insurance jumped from $114/mo (pretty expensive!) to $148/ mo!
A 30% INCREASE AFTER ONE YEAR! When I called, the rep explained that rates still increase each year, just not because of the dog’s age. 30%?
The US inflation rate in that time increased 1.9%.
Trupanion told me that “possible yearly increases” are explained in the contract - true, but the 30% increase is 15X the US inflation rate. The original sales rep I signed on with NEVER indicated that ANY price increase was possible!
BUYER BEWARE!!
Nationwide - Pending Refund …
I took out this insurance on the 2nd of May and still haven't received the policy. I'm getting ready to ask for my money back. It has been a week.
Nationwide - "Preexisting condition"
I adopted my latest shelter dog in August 2024, needless to say she was a mess and the vet noted she would benefit for some anti-anxiety meds as needed to settle her, due to her trauma of long distance transport (24 hours in a crate). This was in September 2024
After some behavior training that was working along with the first "short term" antianxiety, the vet advised switching her to long term therapy, this was October, same month that I applied for insurance which occured AFTER the insurance kicked in.
Now because she had the short-term therapy as needed (the firs med is only given as needed) first, to get her settled in, the long-term therapy is now considered a "preexisting" condition.
Wow, Nationwide, seems a bit slight of hand to me and quite frankly, considering it is 10.00 a month that you will not reimburse, tells me all I need to know about how much you "care". I will be dropping you ASAP. Apparently Nation wide is NOT on your side.
Nationwide - Look Elsewhere To Insure Your Furry Friend
I received a letter cancelling my 9 1/2 yoa rottweiller’s insurance after being a customer through 2 dogs over 19 years. The letter stated that they were no longer going to be insuring dogs in my state because of the rising costs for healthcare of dogs in the state. This has been found to be an outright lie after speaking with friends that I referred to Nationwide. I also attempted to insure a made-up puppy to see if it would be accepted for insurance - it was.
During the life of my dog’s coverage before cancellation the premium rose over several hundred percent. Nationwide was able to stay in the black cash flow. Attempts to secure comparable insurance on a 9-1/2 year old dog with pre-existing conditions is totally impossible.
