Trupanion - Trupanion price gouging
My cat is barely over 1 years old. I picked her up from the breeder when she was 3 months old in May of 2024. Now here in May of 2025 trupanion is raising my pets rate from $54 to $84 a month and we have never filled a claim and the cat has a perfect bill of health. They raised my premium by 56%. That is absurd. I immediately called and canceled because that is straight up a scam.

I received a free trial of Trupanion through a breeder when I adopted my Maine Coon kitten. He had very bad diarreah when I got him home and the breeder had sent me home with worming medications. I took him for a wellness check to the vet and asked for a full fecal panel to be sure of the cause of the diarrheah. I submitted the claim and Trupanion refused to pay for the panel and sent me a long list of all the things they do not cover which seems like almost every reason you might bring a pet to the vet. They also asked for $154cnd per month if I wished to continue the coverage. What coverage? No thanks.

Not one claim has been approved in 8 years. We have paid over $15,000 in premiums and only denial. Total rip off.
Pets Best - Filing Claims With Them is Like Herding Cats
Pets Best wants certain documentation in a certain way. Failure to provide it EXACTLY as the want it causes claim rejection. Yet their rejection comes without specific comments on how to correct whatever error they came up with. You get a list of possible things. Around and around it goes, weeks and weeks pass, email after email after email. Phone calls don't even resolve it. Finally, if you're lucky, you correctly guess what they want and eventually they process your claim. They eventually honor their contract but by then you've spent all your emotional capital. It's almost like a corporate strategy, but I'm sure no honest business would do such a thing.

No one ever call me back ! I had an issue with my polices and no one call me to help with my issue ! I had a pet Keith nationwide for 7 years and I thought I would be treated better! The sales rep never called me back to explain to me what happen with my polices ! Once I sign up I can't get a call back to explain to me why he mis quoted me on my polices ! Once my money clear I can't get in touch with him or anyone who can answer

Trupanion - Premium almost doubled moving from…
Premium almost doubled moving from Hawaii to California. None of our recent trips are covered. You need to add basic pet visits to it. Personally wouldn’t go through them after my experience. I could only imagine if my pet has to do a major procedure like some of these owners. Go elsewhere. Waiting for a cookie cutter response from their team for this.
Nationwide - The website needs work
Too many pop-ups I don't like your website and it doesn't explain what the next process is and it should give the customer an option right away to add another pet to see what the discount would be before asking for the money right up front for the first pet
