Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.

Trupanion - Avoid! They deny everything based on…
They deny everything based on geralizatjons and diagnosis from themselves and not what doctors say. My dog had a puppy scratch on her belly and they said it was allegies even though my vet didn’t. Then they proceeded to deny anything she has ever had because it shares potential symptoms with allergies.
Then there is the “we don’t raise prices based on age or claims” but then they will go and raise it every single year. I have had my dog for 5 years and each year it has gone up 20-40 %. It started at $75. Now it is up to 170 a month.
This company is a scam. Avoid at all costs.
They say to contact them and they will check in on it but I have spent hours and countless emails and it doesn’t do anything. I’m cancelling this month and warn you not to enroll.
Embrace - Technological difficulties
Lately the app and on the website, submitting a claim was has been difficult. The app froze every time I tried to choose the hospital. The same thing happened just now on the website.
Nationwide - Do NOT insure with Nationwide
Do NOT insure with Nationwide Pet Insurance!! Thousands of cancelations for no reasons. Cannot trust this insurance company for ANY type of insurance. BEWARE!!!
Embrace - Save Your Money
Embrace has never covered a cent of the costs associated with my vet bills. I have made thousands of dollars worth of monthly payments, submitted 13 claims, and not a single claim has resulted in any reimbursement.
ASPCA - Absolutely infuriated with ASPCA
Absolutely infuriated with ASPCA, going through the sign up process it seemed like a lovely value, and my understanding was that the preventative limits were what were always covered up to, not if my vet charged a single cent more, nothing would be covered. I feel scammed of my $120 spent on my new puppy, who went through his crucial vaccination period and I received hardly anything back from the insurance because everything cost $35 instead of $25. It makes absolutely no sense why you would refuse to pay up to your allowed amount, and instead decide to cover $0 because my bill was higher. I should be responsible for the $10 difference, not the full amount PLUS my monthly premium. Simple a scam and I will be canceling.

UPDATE – May 15, 2025
I called Fetch, as instructed in their response, and was transferred to Tracy, a customer advocate—presumably a step above a typical customer service representative. Initially, Tracy offered me the same policy I had last year: $15,000 coverage, $350 deductible, and 80% reimbursement—for $360.84 per month or $4,330.08 annually. I was prepared to accept this just to maintain my coverage without further hassle.
However, after checking another system, Tracy reversed her position and reverted to offering a $500 deductible with 70% coverage. When I questioned the change, she began citing company policy and individual risk assessments. The inconsistency and lack of transparency are incredibly frustrating. BEWARE!
Fetch has not been the same since the change in ownership. I’m now waiting to hear back from her supervisor.

When signing up the price changed after I received my confirmation email. Not sure if that’s normal but I feel pricing seemed not transparent.

Healthy Paws - Horrible experience on final claim…
Horrible experience on final claim after losing our dog to cancer. I have had this insurance for 10 years. Never had a claim until March 2025 when we found out our dog had cancer. I submitted 2 bigger claims, but under $500. Another for medications and a final for euthanasia which $150. Never in the previous larger 4 claims did they ever ask for a full 10 year medical record of our dog until the final claim. Seems if a full medical record was necessary it should have been required on first claim, not after losing our dog and on the final claim. This company is unethical and I cannot help but wonder if this about getting yet another payment while they jerk us around.
In response to Healthy Pets reply: No problem on requesting these records, but it should have been on the first submission - not after we lost our pet. Your company should find some compassion.
