Nationwide - Your company is a disaster and you have…
Your company is a disaster and you have no intention of treating your long time customers well. Good riddance. We’ve already found a better insurance company.
Fetch - I’m beyond disappointed with Fetch
I’m beyond disappointed with Fetch. Despite paying over $1,000 in premiums, I haven’t received a single reimbursement for my cat’s recent medical visits, all of which are clearly eligible under their policy. I've submitted multiple claims through their app and website, provided every required document, and followed up numerous times. Not once have I received a response.
They’ve completely ghosted me while I’ve been dealing with a sick pet and mounting vet bills. This is not only unprofessional, it's unethical. Their lack of communication is appalling, and at this point, it feels like they’re just taking my money without offering the coverage they promise.
Avoid Fetch at all costs. They are the worst, and I would never recommend them to anyone who actually cares about their pet.
Nationwide - Not loyal to their customers.
I’ve been a Nationwide pet insurance customer since 2014. Over the years, I’ve only needed the insurance for routine wellness visits and exams — nothing major. I set up autopay early on so that payments would be consistent and on time, and I never missed a payment.
Recently, I noticed that payments were no longer being withdrawn. When I logged into my account, I was shocked to discover that my policy had expired. I immediately called Nationwide for clarification. The representative told me that my plan was discontinued because it was an older policy. I was never notified.
When I asked why I wasn’t informed — via email, phone call, or even a text — the only answer I received was that they sent a letter. I never received it. I pressed further, asking why there was no follow-up when they clearly had multiple ways to contact me, and the representative had no response.
To make matters worse, when I asked what I could do now to make sure my dog remains insured, I was told that because of his age, Nationwide will no longer insure him. After paying $162.19 per month for ten years, I’m now left with nothing, just when my senior dog may need coverage the most.
How convenient for them.
This is a shameful way to treat a loyal, long-term customer. I upheld my end of the agreement without fail, and now, when it truly matters, Nationwide has abandoned us. It’s incredibly disappointing and feels like a calculated move to avoid covering aging pets when they’re likely to need care.
Shame on you, Nationwide.
MetLife - Great customer service and solid…
Great customer service and solid coverage. But getting reimbursed can sometimes take a while, especially compared to other companies that advertise same day reimbursement.
MetLife - You wrongly DENY just about everything I submit
Just about everything I submit, which are all legit and covered expenses, are rejected over and over. Then the claim is closed. I am currently dealing with this situation on denials of monthly refills for a Simparica script that was already approved!
We rescued this dog after she had been in two "forever homes" and at least 3 fosters, and I keep explaining that we have provided every single thing we have on her past records (which shouldn't even matter!). It is sooooo frustrating! Sometimes they are FINALLY paid after months of back and forth, though nothing is different, so the denials seem false and unethical.
MetLife - Compared to other Pet insurance
Compared to other Pet insurance, it takes you folks way too long to process a claim. But I am very thankful for the coverage that your pet policy covers, including prescription and supplement medication recommended by my vet veterinarian.
MetLife - Claims are very slow to process
Claims are very slow to process. Customer service agents read from a script and provide no actual help.
Pets Best - They don't care about your dog
I really don't understand all the positive reviews. I feel like they're paid. The company has the worst operations of any company I've ever seen. They take a month to pay out claims, have terrible customer service, and most importantly have ridiculous premiums. Year over year increases you can expect between 60 and 90% increases. They don't care about the dogs they care about the money. Terrible company
Pets Best - Avoid the Frustration!
I deeply regret switching to Pets Best from Nationwide, this has been the worst pet insurance experience I've ever had. The biggest issue is their claim denials; a significant majority of the claims I submit are rejected without clear justification, making it feel like their priority is avoiding payouts rather than supporting pet owners.
On the rare occasion they do approve a claim, the reimbursement process is painfully slow, often taking weeks before I see any funds. This delay is frustrating, especially when dealing with urgent veterinary expenses. Having been with multiple pet insurance providers, I can confidently say Pets Best has been the most disappointing in terms of reliability and efficiency.
If you're looking for peace of mind and timely coverage for your pet, I strongly recommend exploring other options. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating, and I truly regret making the switch.
Trupanion - 17 year clients of Trupanion
We were clients for many years. We started our policy back in 2009. At that time we had 5 dogs on the policy.
Coverage was great and monthly premiums were affordable.
All of our dogs from that time period have crossed the rainbow bridge.
Out of 5 of those beautiful souls only two had serious chronic illnesses that we definitely needed coverage for.
Trupanion was great through it all.
We once needed this coverage for our dog after she got into an inhaler and ingested all the medication.
Mind you these were all large breed dogs.
A few years ago Trupanion started to increase rates by huge amounts.
They denied coverage and found ways around paying claims for our then 14 year old Labrador Zoey.
Zoey’s policy started in 2009 and she never had a claim until later in her life.
A broken tooth that was causing her a lot of pain and needed immediate care. That claim was denied and called a routine teeth cleaning.
Our veterinarian was so upset that she credited our account $300 and immediately removed all trupanion literature from her waiting room lobby.
We know have two very small young toy sized dogs. At renewal time a week ago once again we were handed a large renewal increase for our 10 pound maltipoo. He’s just four years old with no health issues or claims. Already we’re at over $70.00 a month for him.
Our other dog Ruby who’s a 20 pound mini poodle and not even two years old has a rate of $84.00 a month.
We paid less for a monthly premium with our 80 pound purebred chocolate and black Labradors.
At such a young age there’s no way that by the time we’re half way through their lives we will be able to afford the monthly premiums for both.
We are on the brink of retirement age.
My husband intercepted the renewal email and shot back at trupanion with a vulgar email that was not signed by himself or I.
I was at work at the time this happened.
That afternoon I had a call come in from trupanion but I work for a hospital and can’t answer a personal call all the time.
The next morning I checked my trupanion app on my phone and all of my dogs past and present we listed under “ previously insured pets”.
I called trupanion immediately to see why my two dogs were listed that way. The CSR put me on hold to inquire about the situation. She came back on and very rudely said your policy is canceled effective immediately because we received two very vulgar emails. She said the emails were considered as written statements asking to have our policy canceled.
There was no name/ signature so that does not warrant permission for cancellation.
I’m the sole person that deals with trupanion, pays the premiums, and submits all claims.
So this unscrupulous company canceled my policy for something I had nothing to do with. They took it out on my dogs also.
The years of paying into this company, the tens of thousands of dollars in premiums and they just canceled the policy.
I have zero doubt that we are not the only policy holders to ever explode on them and their terrible insur
