State Farm - Should State Farm replace all tires?
I got hit by a motor cycle and they were at fault. It destroy one of my wheels and tires.
State Farm will replace the one tire. I want all 4 tires replaced bc it’s 4 wheel drive grand Cherokee and the owners manual states to keep all tires the same circumference. Basically don’t put one brand new tire with 3 used tires bc it can possibly damage the drive train.
I’m pushing back bc I want them all done. What your take?
Progressive - I'm dumb. What am I supposed to do here?
Windshield claim, Progressive.
Hailstorms for days.
Deductible: $2000
Vehicle: Toyota rav4 2020
Progressive claims person asked do I want to get paid $2000 or pay for the windshield repair and have them pay the rest?
I haven't had to repair a windshield before. I didn't know what to choose.
Haven't gotten a quote but I don't think it'll cost 2k?
I didn't even know there would be choosing.
So before I do next step, adjuster etc: What... exactly am I supposed to do here? (I am feeling... cyberpunk dystopia atm)
Bristol West - filed a claim with bristol west, not sure if proving innocence will be difficult?
yesterday morning i got into a fender bender. i was waiting at a red light on a 3 lane road. left lane is a left turn/u-turn lane. middle lane (the one i’m in) is a straight only lane. right lane is a right turn only lane. the light turns green (i’m first in line at this light), and i slowly start accelerating (i have become a very defensive driver because the city i live is filled with actual idiot drivers, so i never take off at an intersection for fear of someone running the red and t-boning me) to cross the intersection. all of a sudden, a car is in front of me and hits the front right of my car with the front left/side of their car. she was in the right lane and made a u turn from there (or was trying to). i feel like it’s pretty straight forward that moving to the left in capacity from a right turn only lane puts her at fault, but i don’t know how this all works.
i recently turned 24 so my insurance is still a bit high, and im waiting until 25 to get comprehensive collision when it’s more affordable for me. so, i’ve had to file through their claims, bristol west. i didn’t call the police for this accident; i was rear ended really horribly two years ago in this same town and it took 2+ hours for a cop to arrive. i have a large event happening at work this week and i legitimately didn’t have the time to spare to wait for an officer to show up. neither of us were hurt, and the damage isn’t too horrible (from what i can tell) so i couldn’t risk missing my morning at work. i know this isn’t great as a police report would help with the story, but i can’t change the past.
does anyone have any experience with this? the girl who hit me was very apologetic to my face, but im worried that her story/her insurance (known for high-risk drivers) will try to swindle me and i don’t have my own collision insurance. does this seem straight forward enough or am i in for a headache? thank you for your help, advice, and guidance.
edit: would it be worth it to go on my cities FB page and ask if there were any witnesses? it’s a pretty common intersection and my city is relatively small. also, should i contact the police department to see if there is intersection footage? i just want to be as prepared as possible since i don’t have any dashcam footage. thanks
Auto-Owners Insurance - Switching from incompetent agency for inability to cover
So this is a bit long and involved. I’m a 25M who just moved back home to take over a family business after a family member was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. We have a block of commercial units we rent out, most of them under one roof, and two units disconnected from the main building. In total we have about 75,000 SF of commercial retail space.
Problem is when the landlord has Alzheimer’s they forget to do important things like carrying insurance on the main building with 65,000 SF. So I went to the insurance agency we’ve always went through for literally everything commercial or otherwise. They insisted for two months that I had coverage on all the properties (unfortunately I don’t have that in writing) despite being unable to provide a bill or declarations listing the units. It took me ambushing the agent at the office an hour away and showing her a map of the property for her to understand that despite the disconnected units being covered, the main building and parking lot carried no coverage. She had never even audited the property or looked at it on maps nor visited it.
She finally says she’ll get working on adding the main units to the policy, and today she emails me right before she leaves to tell me there is no way possible for auto-owners to cover us as we have two restaurants on the property (my gf used to work as a receptionist at a different agency auto-owners does do commercial coverage for restaurants in my area). So now I’m stuck here with no insurance on a multimillion dollar lot because I get the feeling the agent doesn’t feel like rewriting the policy.
All of my families coverage for everything is through this agency and auto-owners but the agency is incompetent at the very least and it’s evident I need to switch agencies at least. The only experience I have with insurance prior to this is renters insurance and personal auto, I’m really at a loss for where to start or what I should be switching around. Any advice or guidance is appreciated.
Farmers - Waterproof Vinyl Question
I just had a pipe bust in my attic that flooded my home for about 40 minutes before it was stopped. It’s ruined the insulation in my attic, all ceilings in 80% of my home, the walls, and the baseboards. The adjuster (farmers) is saying the floors he believes are waterproof vinyl therefore took no damage and can be dried out. When they removed the baseboards i did go around and see the corners of the floors are peeling up and have water under. It is continuous throughout the whole house with no breaks. I tried to google and can’t find anything on this issue, has anybody dealt with this before? Can vinyl floors have no damage under? I’m a new home owner and I have little knowledge in this, thank you in advance!!
State Farm - StateFarm has been increasing my auto premiums
I (live in NJ)have a leased Nissan Rogue 2024. Never been in an accident, have drive and safe enrolled and drive app 10k miles a year max never missed a payment. They've gone up from $89 to $120 in 6 mnths flat. Feels like this is getting a bit out of hand..
Is anyone else facing this and can someone suggest alternatives or suggestions?
United Healthcare - United healthcare prior authorization
I am 20 years old and on my parents insurance. I got prescribed a medication under the impression that they would not be notified but my dad got a call about the prior authorization being approved and also a letter in the mail. Does anyone know how to change this/prevent this happening again in the future?
United - How do people get surprise insurance claims??
I am in a situation where I need a surgery so will 100% hit my out of pocket maximum.
The max, 8K, is fortunately something we can readily afford. The only thing that scares me are all the scary stories about how they get completely screwed over for supposedly covered procedures and are in debt tens of thousands at once.
What I do to prevent this possibility or are those detrimental stories are from people who do not have any coverage???
My insurance is with United.
Clements Insurance - Clements Insurance?
Has anyone used Clements Insurance? I'll be in Bangkok for 6 months to a year and I'm looking for full coverage on expensive personal property. They say they provide that coverage, but saying and doing....
Progressive - Why did insurance place %100 fault on me initially then change to %0
Long story short, I was driving home from work in my work truck F150. I had merged lanes to the left after my lane had ended. I was completely in the new lane. Fully stopped when I was rear-ended by a car.
Called the cops everyone was OK etc.. Both vehicles had a couple thousand dollars in damage. Luckily there was a witness who stopped and told the police that it looked like it was the other driver who rear-ended me.
Call my Insurance tell them the story they tell me I’m at 0% fault. And then about an hour later, they call me back, saying the other driver with no insurance and no license called and filed a claim on my commercial insurance. To my insurance said I was 100% at fault.
I proceeded to argue with the progressive insurance claims adjuster. He said that I was 100% at fault for changing lanes.
Fast forward when I get the police report. Police report clearly states she is at fault. She rear-ended me she received multiple citations, including improper lane change no license no insurance.
I sent the PDF of the police report to progressive and within minutes he called me saying I am at 0% fault.
My question is, why did I have to go through all of this thinking I was at fault and worry about rates going up?
already installed front back dashcam :)
