Nationwide - Scam
Scam. I subscribed through my employer for a pittance of a "discount," only to have coverage severed when the pets reached a certain age. We had an emergency vet visit on the final day of coverage, and they denied it due to "terminated coverage." Wrong, sir. WRONG, in every sense of the word. I will never purchase a Nationwide product of any sort. in my opinion, they have stolen from me and made false promises.

I loved nationwide when I first got it in 2020, over the years not so much. Their plans changed and I feel like I should’ve been grandfathered with the plan I had. I regret renewing both of my policies. I should’ve shopped around. I will not be renewing next year.
MetLife - I have no idea what kind of scam this…
I have no idea what kind of scam this is. I took my dog to the vet for itching on his feet.. $369 vet bill.
Only $118 of the bill is applied to the deductible. The vet's exam fee is denied!
I'll give this fly-by-night outfit one more chance then take it to the NYS Insurance Commissioner.
Embrace - The submission requires a diagnosis and…
The submission requires a diagnosis and seemingly obvious cases, such as a dog encountering a porcupine, are missing.

Embrace - Buyer Beware! -Must Reapply to Increase Maximum Annual Amount!
Buyer Beware: You will not be able to increase your "Maximum Annual Limit" without reapplying for a new insurance policy (and at that point all current medical conditions will be considered pre-existing).
After 14 years of consecutive annual policies with Embrace for multiple dogs, annual policies that went up in cost every single year, and never having even approached our $10,000 annual maximum, we dealt with multiple cancer diagnoses and treatments for one of our dogs. When it became clear that we would be well over $10,000 before the end of the policy year I called to increase the annual maximum and was told explicitly, for the first time, that if I ever wanted to increase the annual maximum I would have to reapply with Embrace for a new insurance policy for this dog and that their cancer would then be considered a pre-existing condition and would not be covered at all.
It did not matter if it was done when we were entering a new policy year, either. And this is when I realized what Embrace was all about.
I had asked when I began with Embrace if I would need a higher annual maximum and was told then, and in future years when we would adjust our policy by adding a new dog, that I was well covered with a $10,000 annual maximum.
When I pushed back with this fact and the unfairness of this policy, they reminded me that I should have read the fine print located somewhere within the paperwork that states their many policies. Then they sent me a box with dog treats and toys and a card letting me know how much they appreciated our loyalty as customers and how sorry they were for our dog's illness. We ended up with $20,000 of necessary medical treatment for our dog that Embrace would not cover because it was over the annual maximum limit of $10,000.
What they don't make clear outside of the fine print is that you can never increase that annual maximum amount without reapplying and having all current conditions for your pet considered "pre-existing".
We later discovered that there are other pet insurance companies with no annual limits, and we so regretted all the money we paid to Embrace over the years and so wished we had gone with a different company.
Dealing with Embrace on this issue was the worst insurance experience we have ever had, at the most vulnerable time of our life as pet owners.
Fetch Canada - $1200 vet bill
$1200 vet bill
Received $190
back from Fetch
Even after vet clarified report that kitten did not have a pre existing condition. Have been paying $150 month for two kittens for 8 months
I feel like I was fleeced.
Sent in paperwork and police case number for missing cat. Discovered Fetch denied receipt. Have to resend information. How convenient they don't have the police case number. Was not reimbursed for advertising material nor $150 replacement costs for another cat.
A shocking experience. I will not be giving my money to Fetch ever again.
Spot - SCAM
They refuse to cover ANYTHING and will blatantly lie and gaslight you when you try to confront them about anything. They told me my cat had "never received a dental cleaning" even though it was CLEARLY in his claims records that he has one before. They just adamantly denied it and said "well you can try to appeal if you want". They are a SCAM.
MetLife - Claims don’t get paid
It has been impossible to get a claim paid. I have given all of the documents several times and still can’t get it resolved. The Vet sent the information again and I’m still told that it’s still pending. I’m at a loss
Pets Best - Horrible
Don’t use this pet insurance. Firstly the app never works, which is why the process is horrible. 2nd they considered constipation as a preexisting condition which is why my claim was denied (which is absolutely insane) 3rd customer service is absolutely zero help. I am disputing the claim but I doubt anything will happen. Waste of money. Tell people to not use them!
