Figo - TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!!

Embrace - Zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would. I have had a policy with Embrace Pet insurance for more than two years, at a cost of $85.79, for a total of more than $2,000. They have turned down both of my invoices for reimbursement for timing reasons, which is absurd. They first requested documents which both I and my vet provided multiple times, dragging the process out for months. They decided that they no longer accept JPEGs or DropBox files somewhere during those weeks. DO NOT EVER USE EMBRACE, unless you want to be effed.
Trupanion is fine... sometimes. Over the past two years it appears they are desperately trying to not pay claims.
In particular, recurrent health issues with your pet are becoming a challenge. This is because the claims specialists "tag" each claim. This is done manually, and often has significant error. As such, you wind up paying deductibles multiple times. Trupanion isn't particularly helpful on this issue. They explain that they "cannot initiate appeals" legally, but are unable to answer why this is a legal requirement when pressed. Moreover, they put the onus on the customer to try to link together all records (which are in their claim system already), populate an extensive form, etc. It appears that Trupanion is trying to leverage this tactic to make it a highly manual and labor intensive process, making the customer "give up" in the process. I'm also surprised that Trupanion is one of the few companies where I do not see a NPS question after an interaction or are offered the opportunity for a survey.
I used to highly recommend Trupanion, but now I would say to avoid and consider other options.

I do NOT recomend this company if you really love your pet. I am insurance agent in California and it is normal companies increase your premium year by year, but from paying $89 a month pretend to rise to $227 a month is crazy, specially that my pet has no claims in 10 years. It is much better to get a good company that protect your pets during all their lives
Also when you try to contact them they will answer in other country with a terryble accent

It would have been nice to know that it takes up to 7 business days to underwrite and approve this, and it would have been nice to know I had to pre-pay for 2 months the day I purchased the plan
Embrace - Embrace is not a trustworthy company
I took my dog in for his yearly checkup and the cost for shots etc was $394.00. I had the wellness benefit so assumed Embrace would cover minus the deductible. My claim was denied because the service was on July 11, 2025 and the policy renewal wasn’t until 10 days later. I have been payjng my policy premiums monthly since the inception of my policy. I called Customer Service and was told because the service was before the renewal date that I had met my Wellness Benefit and would not receive my benefit.
Trupanion - Trupanion was wonderful
Trupanion was wonderful. I was a little disappointed that I still had to pay for most of the event bill even though I have the 90% plan it’s all the little hidden cost, but it was easy to use and friendly staff when I called.

Pets Best - insurance is needed for those times…
insurance is needed for those times when there is really an issue with our pets, however Pets Best is SLOW to respond when they will pay for insured coverage and very FAST when when they don't have to pay. I sent in several claims same day; on those claims they did not pay, they responded within 3 days stating the coverage will be applied to deductible; however one claim that would be covered by insurance, I have not heard from them to date, other than they received the claim.
