I am giving the lowest star possible because after reading the reviews I have decided this is not a good pet insurance company who nickle and dimes you to death and won't keep their end of the bargain. I will find something more trustworthy than this one for sure. Thank you everyone for your reviews and alarming other consumers such as myself.

Redundant filling of information when submitting a claim. Nebulous explanation of benefits. Unclear, unpleasant web site. Rare to find veterinary practices accepting the direct payment from Trupanion.

Upped me 3x since ive had them, worst insurance i get nothing back

A 250% increase in premiums without notification. In fact the total premium cost was increased to a level higher than the coverage amount.

Thieving trash losers. Absolute scumbags. They raise your rates without telling you, and don't cover anything that they say they do. It's a nightmare to try and cancel, and they still figure out a way to milk extra money out of you when you try to cancel. They are the worst. The support staff are awful. Just a terrible company.

For the premium paid, I feel that esp for my older dog, the 2000 USD limit barely covers his ongoing medical expenses.

Service is great - time to process a claim takes way too long

Put in for this insurance about 2 weeks ago for cat... Haven't heard back since. But they did take my money. Haven't even gotten policy in mail yet ...

Horrible customer service after filed a claim for ear infection. They requested pets records from Vet. Sent them. Claim denied for pets vet records same as had been sent. This happened 3 more times with me going to vets office last time with claims dept. on speaker phone with vet office clerk. Denied again. This time because of said it was pre existing. Pet had a allergy rash on leg in the past! My recommendation with Spot is Stay Away! Swithed to them from insuror to add another pet. Big mistake! You get what you pay for. I would think they spend most of their internal money on researching how to connect any past illness to being pre-existing to save them money. Of course I have canceled. Never Spot again.

So far, I'm not impressed with the coverage and likely going to cancel. Very disappointed to learn they will not honor any claims only two months after you have the service - ridiculous for what I'm paying in premiums.
