Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
Arkana - Wish I had done this years ago
I’m just glad I have coverage now for my dog Crypto and my cat Amira. They’re both getting older and I know we’ll be at the vet more this year or next. It’s a relief knowing I won’t be stuck with a huge bill when that time comes. Arkana made it easy to compare plans and get something in place without spending hours researching. I feel a lot better going into the next few years with some peace of mind.
Arkana - super easy to get pet insurance

Pet Insurance - The website is too difficult
The website is too difficult. You asked me at the start what my HOME zip code is. Then at the end when I wanted to purchase, you asked me my BILLING address, but I couldn't edit the ZIP code and I had to hit back, back, back all the way to the start to change the Zip code to my billing Zip code. They should have an option on the check-out page to change the billing zip code.
MetLife Pet Insurance - delay and frustration
There is a lot of delay and frustration with the reimbursement process. Either my vet who submits my claims or me are constantly having to provide the same information over and over again. It is really nitpicking it seems sometimes. For example, an invoice that showed the amount due, the payment, and then there was an additional line item showing that satisfying the balance, and then a zero due line. That got pushed back at least two times with the reason being it didn’t show payment.
Trupanion - They are a total scam
They are a total scam. If you love your dog, run away from them.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Sadly gone WAY downhill
Sadly, Healthy Paws has gone WAY downhill. I've been with the company for about 12 years and they have always paid out for my cat, and paid out quickly so that is what gets the three stars but EVERYTHING else gets a zero star.
Embrace Pet Insurance - Not worth the money or the hassle.
Embrace sounds good until you pay and learn that nearly every vet visit is not covered. There were multiple occasions where I was told by Embrace that they needed medical records to review a submitted claim. They would request that I contact my clinic. I would contact my clinic only to learn that my clinic had already responded to the original ask for embrace. This felt like a racket and was definitely a waste of my time.
MetLife Pet Insurance - Overall good, but definitely room for improvement
Overall MetLife is pretty good for pet insurance, however after the first year they hiked my monthly price up by over $30/month which seems astronomical. I’m terrified to see what next year will be, and whether or not it’s something I’ll still be able to afford. Claims sometimes take quite a while to be processed. Additionally, they don’t cover PT unless performed by a licensed vet, which is kind of a fine print thing. I was unable to find a dog PT in the state of CT who was a licensed vet. They are all licensed physical therapists or rehab specialists, but don’t have a DVM. Pretty disappointing since this was one of the main perks to me, having coverage for something very common, but costly and repetitive, that comes up, especially with larger dogs.
MetLife Pet Insurance - It’s a little difficult/confusing to…
It’s a little difficult/confusing to submit documents and I’m constantly receiving alerts that more documents are needed with not much of visibility into why the documents I already provided are not enough.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Healthy Paws Preys on Senior Pets with Outrageous Rate Hikes
I have been a loyal customer since 2018, but recently Healthy Paws increase in my monthly premium from $124 to $346 a month for a single pet, which is unacceptable. For a healthy 13-year-old senior pet, the nearly threefold jump feels punitive, particularly when finding alternative coverage at this age is next to impossible.
