Absolute worst customer service, when they can’t help/ don’t know the answer they just hang up. Also deny claims that are explicitly covered under the contract and again just hang up to avoid accountability. Do not buy this insurance.
Healthy Paws - Never Filed a Claim, yet I was Rewarded with Price Hikes
I never once filed a claim and yet they continued to hike my premium, getting to a blinding $100 bill this year.
I made a request to cancel in May of this year, which they countered with lowering my coverage, so I accepted. A new policy was underwritten and enacted in June.
They wrote me in July to say they cancelled my policy anyway. I asked why, they cited the May request. Okay, fine. I don’t understand why THEY reopened the request after it was ALREADY resolved through a compromise they proposed.
I’ve just wrapped up another round of unnecessary discussion because now, in August, they’ve reopened the ticket AGAIN to say “they’ll look into my inquiry and respond promptly.” So I answered that this was a futile attempt, which then they responded with a condescending email stating that since the policy was cancelled, they cannot reinstate it. Good grief.
Overall I’m exceedingly disappointed in their service, and especially their mismanaged, disorganized “inquiry system.” Save yourself the headache. Don’t go with HealthyPaws.

DO NOT EVER GET THIS INSURANCE THE ABSOLUTE WORSE! HAD SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. APPLIED FOR PET INSURANCE MAR 3 AND THEY CLAIMED IT WAS "APPROVED" BUT THEN SENT AN EMAIL SAYING MEDICAL REVIEWERS NEED TO REVIEW HIS BARE MINIMUM HEALTH HISTORY (HEALTHY DOG) AND THAT COVERAGE HASNT STARTED TOOK THEM 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE STARTING COVERAGE SO COULDNT GET 1 OF HIS HEALTHY APPTS COVERED. THEN ONCE THEY ACCEPTED IT NOTHING WAS SENT OUT. TRIED TO CREATE AND ACCESS AN ONLINE WEB PORTAL AND COULD NOT AGTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. AT THE TIME I COULDNT LOCATE A PHONE NUMBER OR CONTACT US FORM AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING. NEVER COULD FILE A CLAIM OR ACCESS ANYTHING. THEY HAVE KNOWN PROBLEMS CREATING ONLINE ACCESS WHICH I FEEL LIKE THEY DO INTENTIONALLY. ALL THE WHILE I PAID A DEPOSIT AND WAS GETTING MONEY TAKEN OUT FOR 3 MONTHS. I finally contacted my bank to stop payments because I couldn't figure out how to terminate the insurance. I asked for a refund because they stated if the insurance hasn't been used then you may be able to be refunded they switched it to say Marylands says you only have 10 days from "approval" which doesn't make sense because coverage doesn't start until 14+ days later. I was with Pet Embrace for 3 years and never had 1 issue like this. Their customer service was absolutely rude and said "well I pay auto insurance and I'm never credited back even though I'm not in accident" which is not the same type of situation. You get pet insurance to cover their wellness expenses it's more of a form of Healthcare than it is for a car. Save yourself the time DO NOT sign up for their Insurance go someplace else. Their coverage isn't even that great to begin with. If the pet insurance is this bad I can't imagine how any of their other insurance is.
Nationwide - Great, as long as you don't need it
When choosing dog insurance be aware that these companies want your business as long as your pet is young and healthy. As they get older and you use the insurance more frequently to cover your pet's medical expenses, they will start denying claims and raise your premiums in order for you to cancel or they will flat out cancel your coverage.

i was reading that both my cats would be billed toghter. then when i looked at the two emails i got they said billed seperatly? so what is it?
Embrace - Do not sign up with this company
Do not sign up with this company. They will deny claims for "pre-existing conditions" even though the health issue is unrelated. They will badger your vet for the pet's complete medical record, even though they received it as I personally sent it. Then they will ask for it again. Clearly a stall tactic or they are very disorganized.
Fetch Canada - Large annual increases in premiums
Large annual increases in premiums - avg 36%/annum over 7 years. Fairly long waits for reimbursements. Claims denied if filed more than 90 days afterwards, even for monthly prescription refills. Mistakes on reimbursement amounts requiring multiple follow-ups.

Just so disappointed with the actual coverage. When we had an actual emergency, including prescribed medicated food—very little was actually covered by this policy. After a yearly expense of $1,500 for coverage i expected better. We had around $900 in vet expenses, the “80%” back that we’re getting is around 150 bucks. It’s fine but- Why did we spend this money on emergency coverage when we could have saved it instead and come out on top? We had this for a few years now and the cost is going up an additional 50$ a month—so a yearly cost of $2100, and pittance for emergency coverage in compensation. Turns out it’s smarter to save what we’d pay in a high yield savings account and hold to accrue interest than pay somebody else to barely cover anything. I feel ripped off by this.

I acquired this policy based on my vet's recommendations as for the simplicity of it's usage. I was told after each visit a copy of my billing would and was sent to Embrace for processing of reimbursements ... Yet if there is a problem with embrace not receiving the invoice due to changes in their system processing methods I would not be reimbursed. as was the case for several years Receipts were sent in to what was then the original processing center not knowing of any changes having been made thus causing my claims to never have been seen and of course not being processed Embrace told me no matter what it's my responsibility and embrace holds themself at NO fault At $2,625.00 yearly is this truly the way to go?
