Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
Embrace Pet Insurance - Disgusted doesn't even begin to cover it PT2.
Because I can’t reply to your response, @Embrace, I’d like to set the record straight for anyone following this issue. The acquisition of Embrace in late 2023 by private equity firm JAB Holdings, who now owns more than 10 pet insurance brands, should not be ignored. According to JAB’s 2024 Annual Report, their strategy is focused on using acquisitions to drive revenue growth, and they explicitly highlight “above-industry growth” in pet insurance, attributed to “partnership activations,” “premium increases,” and new business writings after consolidation.
Embrace Pet Insurance - Bark up another tree. Stay away!
This company USED to be a decent company. NOW, it does not respond to emailsm nor calls. No one even answers the phone. We had over $1200.00 in claims and NOT ONE of them are eligible to be paid or for three months they are still "pending". What the negative reviews are stating IS TRUE!! DO NOT sign with this company. I am cancelling today!!! So tired of waiting to hear about "pending" claims though we and the animal hospital have submitted everything that was requested. BYE
Pet Insurance - They renewed the pet policy on a deceased pet, not the living pet.
They renewed a pet policy on a deceased pet, while my pets who were still alive the policy was not renewed. When I went to file a claim, they said they could not assist me as the pet I was claiming had no active policy. This happened two years in a row, and as a result I have not been able to file any claims after obtaining pet policies for three different animals. When I asked for a record, they said that the record for my call speaking with a representative was not available. After providing confirmation of payment, I was still denied claim coverage because the customer care representative renewing my policy for the year submitted it for the wrong animal. I am extremely frustrated with the way I have been treated, and would never recommend Nationwide pet insurance to anyone looking for a respectful and accurate insurance representative. Not only will I not receive a refund for the annual policy that they incorrectly filed for the deceased pet, but I am unable to file claims for the veterinary bills that I was submitting in good faith for my living pet. When speaking to the representative to fix the issue, she said I did not understand what she was explaining to me. It was an exceptionally rude experience and she hung up the phone without a thank you or goodbye.
Embrace Pet Insurance - Predatory Company
This company is incredibly predatory, avoid at all costs. They use past incidents of symptoms (like vomiting and diarrhea) as an excuse to deny claims for completely unrelated conditions, and utilize a blatantly subjective review of medical records - even against veterinary standards & consensus - in order to serve the company’s best interests. Symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea can occur due to MANY different conditions, diseases, and illnesses… that’s why they’re considered SYMPTOMS and not standalone conditions. But if your pet had a single instance of vomiting OR diarrhea within the past YEAR due to something like a diet change, bacterial infection, or just eating something it’s body didn’t agree with, ANY future condition associated with EITHER symptom will be considered a “preexisting” and denied on that basis. Eg., say you took your 4 month old puppy in for vaccines and told the Vet he/she vomited the day before due to getting into the trash or a recent diet change, and then 10 months later your dog needs emergency care for something like acute gastritis, a severe allergic reaction, or poison consumption (even intestinal blockages have been denied on multiple occasions) and vomiting is one of the symptoms, Embrace WILL deny the claim because of the past documented incident of vomiting (some customers have successfully challenged denials for blockages that required surgery after a time consuming appeals process, but those claims never should’ve been denied in the first place… Embrace frequently uses initial denials as a business tactic because they know a lot of people won’t even bother to jump through all their hoops).
Embrace Pet Insurance - I’ve had this insurance for two four…
I’ve had this insurance for two four years I used to have a different insurance that paid better every time you’ve processed your claims this insurance has been going up every year and pay it out less even if you don’t have your dog diagnosed for the correct disease they may have very difficult to get them to pay the full amount The other insurance I used to have with a lot easier to process. I really don’t recommend them so I went ahead and cancel them. It’s just not worth spending the money for two pets when they do not process the paperwork on time claims they request so much paperwork by the time you get done it’s like 30 days to have to wait to process granted you get a military discount but in the long run, it’s not worth it.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - BUYER BEWARE - Coverage Drop at Age 7!
Just received my renewal after 10 years of covering our dog since he was a puppy. I've paid the expected rate increases each year. I've held a $250 deductible with 90% reimbursement coverage the entire time.
Embrace Pet Insurance - A little problem
No different than any other. Over priced by a lot! They do pay quickly once you figure out their cumbersome site. They do not allow a fax or photo by email as some do. They not doubled, not tripled, but now want to make my future payments 4 TIMES HIGHER the year before. I feel that is very unfair as my dog was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Before the increases were minimal…but you never know. The excuse they gave me is that “you know, everyone’s cost has gone up”. Right…but 4 times higher than the year before and they have included the increase for the cat that is healthy.
Nibbles - New user

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - New Math invented by Healthy Paws
Yes, honest and helpful.... really ? I have purchased insurance from Healthy Paws when my dog was 5.5 years old ( in 2017): I chose 70% company-30% me, and 500$ deductible. I have paid for 7-8 years, never used it. They don't pay regular visits. I took my baby to ER back in January 2025. After a short visit of few hours the final bill was $1000. My deductible was $500, so then they should have paid 70% according with my plan. They said they don't pay the visit ( $250), so I was left with 250$ bill hoping to get 70% which means $175.00... well Healthy Paws invented a new Math and sent me a check of $46. Please be aware they do not cover the percentage they said !!!!
