Total scam! Go with a different option. You end up paying MORE using Spot just to have a membership - they cover almost nothing.

I like the ease and quickness of contacting a vet. But the inability to get the actual prescription so you can use it locally is problematic, particularly when your pet is in discomfort and you have to way3-4 days—even with selecting the extra $20 expedited shipping— to get your meds. I understand that the business model is to use their pharmacy, but when an antibiotic is needed, the passage of time is unsettling.

Your explanation of coverage is misleading. My plan says it covers surgery, and spaying is surgery. I also have a preventative policy. Your website indicates that spaying as preventative, but doesn’t make it clear that the Gold tier doesn’t include spaying. I will be taking my coverage for both my dogs elsewhere.

Healthy Pet Insurance never paid one claim that I submitted, and then they more than doubled my rates.

It is too expensive for what you pay out. I would have been much better off without it financially this past year. My veterinarian charges much more than the reimbursement that is allowed

Got a video appointment for my cat with a respiratory infection Tuesday and was told to get rush shipping so I can get my cats antibiotics in 1-2 days not 5. I have been feeding my cat through a syringe because she is so congested and can't smell her food, so she doesn't eat. I was better off paying for a vet visit to get her meds. If your pet is sick and needs meds asap DON'T use Dutch, your pet will suffer longer than they should.

The acquisition of Embrace in late 2023 by private equity firm JAB Holdings, who now owns more than 10 pet insurance brands, should not be ignored. According to JAB’s 2024 Annual Report, their strategy is focused on using acquisitions to drive revenue growth, and they explicitly highlight “above-industry growth” in pet insurance, attributed to “partnership activations,” “premium increases,” and new business writings after consolidation.
