Premier Health Solutions - Got scammed, worried I’ll be charged again.
26, tried to get heath care for the first time in January. I thought I was going through healthcare.gov. Guess I called a wack number. “Premier Health Solutions/Health care member services.” Told me 383$ for first 2 months as lump payments then $10 rest of the year. That was a straight up lie. It’s 383$ every month and I will be broke if I keep getting charged. I went through the chat feature to begin cancelation and got an email saying the process has started and I’ll get confirmation but I haven’t yet. I called again about it and they said I’ll get a call from an agent to confirm cancellation. I can’t afford to make another payment and I’m terrified.
Bristol West - Insurance
I had Bristol west insurance and found a better price for auto insurance. I called Bristol west and told them not to renew my policy and have me removed at the end of my policy. Turns out they completely canceled effective the date I called. I received my refund they owed me and thought everything was good. Til I started getting emails and mail from them saying my renewal fee is due. I’m not paying it because I was told my insurance was canceled. I just hope it doesn’t affect my credit because of a payment I’m not responsible for. Anyone else have this issue??
Insurance Company - Pretty sure the Body Shop is ripping my Insurance off big time.
So from just looking on here it seems that this happens often. I got my vehicle yesterday afternoon after them having my car for a lil over a month. I didn’t look at my car much yesterday. This afternoon I went outside and was looking at the stuff on there bill of said repairs for the insurance company. A couple small things look fixed but most stuff looks the same as before as in not touched. The thing is what do I do now? I also had just called said place and the person was busy and in telling the person on the phone if they just ripped insurance company’s off he was dead silent.
State Farm - Cash it?
I have a renters insurance claim due to a total loss from roof collapse and flooding during a storm. I sent in the inventory list (replacement cost policy) and there is about 10K in depreciation. My problem is I had $4k + (remaining after 2 weeks in a hotel and food) with loss of use but my adjuster gave me two weeks to move into a shoebox compared to a huge townhouse I had.
I can’t even buy the vast amount of things I lost due to the sheer size of where I live with no storage (I have one closet compared to a whole finished basement and utility room). The list they sent with the check for actual cost is in my hands. The list is printed and huge (mine was a spreadsheet).
I’m not happy. Quite frankly if I was given more time to use my loss of use (we did 2 weeks in a hotel for a permanent move) then I may have a larger place.
I want my money back (replacement cost) and almost wish I negotiated a settlement. I’m not sure if that’s still possible but what’s the best route here since
USAA - $500 policy increase in MA
My policy just renewed this month, my overall policy went from $2300 to over $2800. I had an accident back in 2023, very minor rear end tap. (I was at fault) the other party didn’t bring litigation against me until 2 months before the statute of limitations went up this year in april. My insurance company did pay out the settlement, and I was told I did not have a surcharge from this incident, and that if my insurance was to go up from this accident it would have happened in 2023 when the accident occurred. My insurance company (USAA) informed me of a state-wide increase being put into effect and that this increase on this renewal was only a portion of the overall increase. I’m just very confused, and unsure how it would increase that much if it wasn’t from this prior accident, and my driving record outside of it is totally clean. Been with this ins company for 6 years now, and I don’t want to switch as i’ve enjoyed it thus far but feel like I have to now that i’m being priced out of it. anyone in massachusetts have any insights?
Ally - Ally Requesting Paid In Full Letter After Buying Car At Carmax
I bought a car at Carmax within the week, and just got a call that the lender, Ally, is requesting a paid in full letter for a previous vehicle. The vehicle they are asking about was repossessed in 2021. I do not have a paid in full letter, but a cancellation of debt. I'm afraid to submit that and them not fund the loan. Will this hurt me?
UMR - how do i get rid of a UMR blockage with my medical?
hello! i know my issue isn't major, but I need help as I am desperate to solve this. Long story short, I had medical for the longest time and never had any issues until January when I was informed (when trying to make a dentist appointment) that I had a UMR blockage. I was confused but was told to call medical and get it resolved. I called them and they said to get in touch with UMR whcihc I tried but was beyond useless as they ask for a member ID which I stated multiple time I DONT HAVE, and after somehow bypassing the answering machine UMR tells me they have no records of me ever existing and to basically die in a ditch as they just hunged up on me. I explained this to medical, and they made me fill out a form to remove "other healthcare coverage," and it should be removed (I did this twice, btw). It in fact was not as I tried to make a dentist appointment again and same thing: "UMR blockage. please take this up with medical".
I called medical again, and they gave me a case ID and told me to ask UMR for a "coverage termination letter," which I tried to do, but again, they told me, "We don't know you we can't do anything" and hung up on me. I explained this to Medical, and they filled out a form (the same one I did), and it should be resolved, yet I don't know if it actually be.
Also, worth to mention one of the workers I spoke to told me that the UMR policy I was under was my uncles, whom I have had no contact since like five years ago and have no connection with at this point, the alleged policy began in 2023 so I don't understand how this even happened:C
when I tried to report the fraud to medical they said "you cant report it here, report it to UMR and then we could try to remove the block because until then we cannot remove an active policy by law" But UMR has been beyond useless and I'm scared because I have a cavity and I know its not serious but I am afraid it could get worse
Im just trying to see if anyone was in my same situation (which is very unlikely) or if I could get any recommendations on what to do because I don't know how to proceed anymore and this just pmo.
Anyways thank you to whoever read this and pls help
AAA - Car Accident Question currently scared
This is a wild one and I'm just looking for some kind of guidance or advice.
Try and make the story short, my wife got into a car accident this morning, the car was in her mothers name who passed away and there was a lien on it so we weren't able to get it in our name
but the car was on the insurance.
This morning, on her way to work, she turned at light and was hit by a 1990s Jeep. After giving insurance information, we went home and contacted our insurance company.
Found out we didn't have insurance, when we did, or we thought we did, back in February 2025, I registered a new car with AAA and got insurance. The lady specifically told me I had insurance and said we were good until August, but all she did was sign us up for road side service. I have a receipt of when I went in as well. My car I added was also on the account, but everything else was missing.
I filed a claim and they're going to do an investigation.
I'm just feeling like I'm in a black hole right now and am super confused and worried. I really can't afford to be put in this situation currently and thought I was covered by insurance this entire time.
Embrace Pet Insurance - Embrace Pet Insurance Premium Increased by 84%
Hi,
Curious if anyone else has had this issue. From what I’ve read online, it seems to be a general theme with pet insurance and I don’t think I have any rights or avenues to pursue to do anything about it.
I have had Embrace pet insurance to cover my 3 pets since December of 2020. My insurance premiums renewals for my pets, that I still have the records for have been:
Dec. 2022: $112.90
Dec. 2023: $133.49
Dec. 2024: $245.76
My pets are obviously getting older from when I initially took the policy. Current ages:
Cat (6)
Cat (10)
Dog (8)
Their rationale for increasing my premium is cost of vet bills increasing, my “tenure” (I’ve had embrace 5 years therefore my pets have likely developed ‘pre existing conditions’ that would not be covered if I was a new policy holder which means more money they have to pay to now cover these conditions), and the pets age.
I understand things increase year over year, I’m hung up on the fact that my rate has almost doubled in a single year. I was going to file a complaint with the state insurance commissioner, but it doesn’t seem that they are technically violating any laws.
I feel like I can’t switch companies because my pets have “pre existing conditions” that won’t be covered at a new place but at $300/ month I might as well save my money and pay the vet bills out of pocket.
I found online that Embrace was sold to JAB Holding company for $1.5 billion dollars in 2023. So I don’t think my premiums are going up so Embrace can keep the lights on.
If you have any advice, I am all ears. If you don’t have advice, take this as a recommendation to avoid Embrace pet insurance at absolutely all costs.
Manypets - Anyone NOT doing the transfer from Manypets to Odie? My premium went up nearly 50%!
I guess I should have looked into this sooner, since I got the email from Manypets back at the end of December, but I forgot about it until now when I FINALLY got an email from Odie regarding the new policy which takes effect March 1st. I have been paying $34.12 a month for each of the last 3 years on a Golden Retriever since she was 3 months old with Manypets. $500 deductible and 90% reimbursement and unlimited annual. They say your rates will be the same with Odie as they would have been with Manypets, but the new premium is $50.15 for $500/90% AND I noticed that the annual max is no $20,000 instead of unlimited. I understand rates normally go up each year but this is nearly 50%. I have seen other posts about this so just wondering if you guys are sticking with Odie or finding another company. I still have not received the email regarding the whole policy so there may be more things I find missing. And if you did switch, do you know if the new companies normally waive the waiting period as long as you have had continuous coverage with another company?
