Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
Fetch - Fetch crazy price increase: would you recommend changing insurance and if so, any company recommendations?
Hi everyone. I have a 6 year old terrier mix that's been insured with Fetch since I adopted him at 5 months old. He's had 4 claims all under $200 in all these years. 2 for ear issues, 1 for diarrhea and 1 for a scrape on his leg. No claims in the Iast two years. I started paying $35 / month and now they want to increase my premium from $71 to $117 which is absolutely crazy!
I currently have no annual limit with a 90% coverage and $250 deductible. I have no problem bringing down the annual limit to 20-25k, 80% coverage and a higher deductible to decrease my rate but my concern is if he's only 6 right now and Fetch is jacking up prices like this, even if I reduce coverage I'm afraid I'll end up with a crazy premium in just a couple of years! Also, I had another dog insured by them and we spent 25k with her last year. She unfortunately passed away but now I wonder if that is playing a role with how much they are increasing my terrier mix rate since they were both under the same account (I read someone here in Reddit had something like this happening with Fetch).
I'd love to hear experiences of people switching insurance specially in regards to coverage of pre existing conditions and also, if anyone has recommendations of other insurance companies I'd love to hear your experience too (especially in regards to rate increases and claims). Thank you!
MetLife - Is MetLife Pet Insurance really worth it or just another scam? Need honest reviews!
Hey everyone, I’m considering getting MetLife Pet Insurance for my dog but I’m so confused about whether it’s actually good or just a waste of money. I’ve heard mixed things and want real opinions from people who have actually used MetLife pet insurance. Does it cover enough? Are the claims process and customer service decent? Or is it just another insurance company that makes promises but doesn’t deliver? I’ve been burned before with other pet insurances that seemed great at first but then denied my claims or had crazy restrictions. Looking for honest reviews about MetLife pet insurance — did it help with vet bills? Was it easy to deal with? Any tips or things I should be aware of? Thanks in advance, pet owners!
Aetna CVS Health - Aetna CVS Health Silver 10 Advanced (HMO)
I don’t know if this is the right flair, so I apologize if it isn’t. I’m 26F living in Florida. This is my first time trying to navigate health insurance, so my parents helped me find a plan that would let me keep my doctors and cover my prescriptions (major ones being my neurologist and migraine prescriptions, which are only brand-name).
My pharmacy called and said they needed one my prescriptions authorized, so I called my neurologist’s office to have them authorize it. My insurance just took effect this month, so I was also going to update it with the office. We did a search on the Aetna CVS Health portal and my doctor was listed as being in-network, but I was informed that they aren’t. They take Aetna, just not my policy. Because they’re not in-network, they can process the authorization.
I guess the online portal isn’t accurate… or maybe something is lost in translation? Is there a definitive way to find providers that will take my insurance? Does anyone else even have any experience with the policy in general?
Trupanion - 7-year old dog, NYC - stay on Trupanion or switch to AKC with hereditary plus?
My dog has been with Trupanion for 5 years. She was healthy as a horse when we switched her, so I thought we were in the clear for no pre-existing conditions. Obviously, naive. Anyways, they are rejecting all tooth extraction claims because a vet wrote "mild tartar" one time in her records 5 years ago. The vet never said anything to us about her teeth until this year, when they told us she needed extractions due to bone loss in her jaw. The vet says it should be covered, but they rejected the claim and I am not holding out hope for the appeal.
I am considering switching her to AKC. They won't cover her teeth either - but I can get a high-deductible plan with hereditary plus coverage for $70 per month. It would cover pre-existing conditions after 365 days, according to the person I spoke with. So I could save over $30 per month, that could go towards her inevitable future extractions.
My thinking is that I now understand that the insurance companies can turn anything into a pre-existing condition post-hoc. I don't trust Trupanion to not do that again. At least with AKC, they cover pre-existing conditions so if she ever got cancer on her ear, for example, it wouldn't be excluded just because she had an ear infection in 2020. Is this thinking sound? Has anyone switched to AKC and could give some advice?

State Farm - Car Vs Pedestrian
Car Came In Contact With Pedestrian
Hello All, I would just like some community input.
My mother a few days ago was driving her car in Queens, NYC, she was going about 18mph, when a pedestrian backed into traffic and came in contact with her car and was taken away by Ambulance, No damage to my mother's car and she was not injured. NYPD came and took a report and my mother's insurance. Other party literally hired an "Ambulance chaser" the next day.
In the NYPD report they state what the pedestrian said, "pedestrian pulled over her car at body shop to be looked at, she stated she opened the hood and a splash of water spewed out and startled her and she jumped backwards" (NYPD did not witness the accident and I am aware the police report does not determine fault in accidents just criminal liability, but the report is used as a tool). My mother didn't have a dash cam (lesson learned), my mother also says that someone saw a security camera footage of thr incident. I just wanna know how screwed is my family since my mom has her car and house to worry about and now this?
*Note* My mother works for the USPS and was on the clock at the time, she just drives her car to a central location on her route and then walsk her route.
I already knew State Farm would deny the claim cause my mother was on the clock. They advised the other party to file a tort claim with the USPS.
*Note, the USPS is not as transparent with its employees or customers. So I have very little faith in how this process will be handled since my mother was working at the time.
Thank you all for your input.
Progressive - Cheaper auto insurance for new driver?
Hi there I’m a new driver 18 licensed this year and I’m on my own progressive plan I don’t have a parent/guardian to join their plan I drive a 2018 Nissan versa with two previous owners to me and I’m currently paying 725 a month which isn’t really reasonable tbh that’s as much as rent is with a roommate lmao and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to receive a cheaper rate or a different company I should try I tried aaa and they said since I haven’t been driving for 6 months there’s not other options besides progressive but I cannot afford to pay that every month on top of bills :/ but I can’t not have a car when this city has horrible public transportation
Blue Cross Complete of Michigan - I just had my finger surgery
so I’m on Medicaid since I’m not working due to my finger injury. I got my surgery done a few months ago and they send me a bill today. I literally thought everything is going to be covered by the insurance. Maybe I should’ve asked questions ahead of time, but I wasn’t aware of this since I know few people who got surgeries and it was covered. I’m not working right now as well since my finger is still not healed. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do right now. do I contact Medicaid or the surgery place? Not sure. by the way, my insurance is Blue cross complete of Michigan. My insurance did pay for over half of the bill but just confused why it wasn’t covered completely.
Star Health - Beat Health Insurance for Women in India
Hey Folks so I'm 30+, I had Star Health insurance earlier however I don't see that they are updated on offer good enough health claims for women specifically. I'm searching for a good insurance which caters to medical needs of women 30+ and over where things like Ovarian cancer shots, PCOS/Fybroid related surgery etc can be claimed. I had a very tough time convincing the policy manager at Star bazar to accept my claim for the same while it was a procedure suggested by the doctor herself. But clearly they seem to know my body better than the actual doctor (LOL)
Could you recommend some insurance companies that do cater in the above factors and have better facilities available especially for women.
Progressive - How messed up am I?
Wife and I started a new policy being as ours ended with our previous company and we were under the impression. Everything was good. We were waiting for them to pull the payment we had our ID insurance card sent to us. We were even using their snapshot app during that time, my wife back into the neighbors vehicle, which was parked illegally And the door luckily my neighbor super cool about it but a few days after that happened progressive recanted the policy and I am worried I’m gonna have to pay out cash is what it is. I just wanna know what my options are and if progressive can be held to pay for the damages, even if they recounted their policy, after the fact
Trupanion - Does trupanion lie about rate increases?
They advertise they never raise rates due to age. I got insurance when my dog was a puppy and in the two years ive had her the rates raised annually from $40 to $50 and now $60. It sure seems like they raise rates based on age, unless you are telling me that vet care has increaed by 50 percent in my city in the last two years.
Even in the very email they sent about the rate increase, they said "Trupanion is unique in that we never increase your monthly cost because you’ve submitted an invoice or because your pet ages. "
