Absolutely terrible. And giving me the run around for months. quick to take my monthly payment but when it comes time to claims they are doing everything possible to waste my time and try to find ways to not pay out the claim. End of the day they will need to pay the claim but it's very frustrating that they're wasting so much of my time trying to fight about paying a claim when I pay them every month for insurance so why do I have to fight with them when the time comes for them to honor their end of the agreement. they clearly dont care About my pet if they're not reimbursing the vet bills making it harder for me to afford to take her back to the vet and when I explain this to them they act like they don't care ... I've tried calling them asking for a supervisor and sat on the phone on hold 30 minutes . Job and can't just take all day to sit on hold for pet insurance to try to get them to honor their end of their contract slash agreement. its very frustrating being stuck with this insurance to avoid negative repercussions from existing conditions that happen while I had spot pet insurance. No idea I had to fight every single claim or I would have definitely gone with a different company...do yourself a favor, save your time & money & g with ANY other pet insurance company #stayAwayFromSpotPetIns

I have been a Spot Pet Insurance client for about 13 months. My Premium for both my dogs together was 116/ month. When it came time for renewal, the charged me 151/month, over a 30 % increase. When I asked about his increase they informed me that it was due to the age of my dogs and because of the Vetinarian rates in my area. My oldest dog is 11 years old, so a 1 year increase in age should not translate into a 30% increase in premiums, nor do I beleive that Vetinarian rates increased by 30% in my area. Therefore, I consider this a "bait and switch" tactic. As a result, I cancelled my Spot Pet Insurance and will look elsewhere.

Spot insurance is a fraud! Totally a waste of money! Processing time, even if you include all the correct documents takes up to 10 business days! They try not to pay for things that you are covered by and you have to fight with them about it and threaten to sue. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS INSURANCE.

The experience is average we are glad we did purchase pet insurance for furry friend. Understanding the reimbursement process is a little cumbersome, but overall they do follow through and get back with you and it has been very helpful

I sent in a claim on 12122024 and it has been approved and I'm still waiting on my check on 01042025. slow process

We recently switched to Spot Pet Insurance from a different insurance logo owned by the same company - Independence Pet Holdings - because Spot offered an affordable monthly premium for our middle-aged beagle. All of Spot's customer service initially seemed warm and inviting. Turns out they are just as heartless as you would expect from any private equity-owned insurance company who is just looking to make money off of careful pet owners. Just like many other pet insurers do, Spot Pet Insurance promptly denied our first claim we submitted as a pre-existing condition, but in this case, we have been paying premiums for years to Hartville, which is literally part of the same company that reports to the same CEO and has the same insurance underwriter - Independence Pet Holdings. So even though this company has been paid by us for years, and even though we have no diagnosis for our dog yet, Spot promptly wrote us off as having a pre-existing condition without further ado. Truly so frustrating when you are just trying to do the right thing and seek insurance for your family member. We are now canceling our policy and going the route of a savings account for pet costs.

I purchase a plan including a puppy prevention package that was to pay out a set amount for certain things. Example: $25 for dewormer $50 for a puppy wellness exam $25 for a bordetella shot etc. Twice I submitted receipts showing my puppy was given a dewormer and Spot Insurance did not reimburse me the $25. Dates are December 12,2024 and January 3,2025.
