Embrace - Punishing and price gouging if you need to use insurance
They used to be super great prices were reasonable but suddenly $100 increase on one dog after my other dog passed away. The started punishing me for having used the insurance. They claim its new state writings but i call BS. My dog is 8 years old and insurance for just her is $200 a month. If i were you i would check with trupanion instead. I cant switch because my dog had pre existing conditions but if i could i would. I also will not ever use this company again for my cat or any other animal that becomes part of my family.
Embrace - I tried to cancel my policy
I tried to cancel my policy. I was transferred to the adjuster who then hung up.
Embrace - Read the fine print !
We have 4 dogs, who rarely get sick, are not exposed to dog parks.
Our youngest pet was placed on insurance the day she was adopted.
The bill we incurred was over $5000.00 We paid 100%. Embrace asked for medical history starting on January 1, 2025. The puppy was not BORN until April 1, 2025 so how could there be a medical record?
The claim for severe abdominal problem was denied in part because she had motion sickness during exclusion period. BS.
Embrace - Awful company ….
Awful company ….
Stay away 😥
My 6 year old golden doodle was just operated due to a mass on his shoulder area . The claim was partially denied ,because of a pre-existing condition.
The pre existing condition was an allergic reaction in his paws . It causes him to lick his paws during certain times of the year .
I followed all recommendations from embrace . On their recommendation, I sent an estimate of what the procedure would cost . I was approved an estimate of $1900 for a $2300 procedure.
Nothing changed on the day of his procedure, except it was less extensive as planned. The actual procedure was just shy of $1000( my Vet , tends to be more on the cautious side regarding estimating costs ).
I was just awarded a claim in the approximate amount of $250 for a $1000 procedure.
There were actually 2 masses removed , both were identified as an abnormal growth ( nothing related to allergies ).
Thank God they were benign.
When you do the math ,
1900/2300=0.826 .
I followed their procedures ( the estimate included all pertinent information).
I was expecting approximately 82% of the amount expected to pay .
250/1000=0.25.
Due to my Vet being cautious on the high side , the actual amount came in less than planned .
I only received approximately 25% .
I never received any phone calls explaining why !
Shame on Embrace !
I’ll start my agenda by reporting this to the BBB .
Embrace - Spent thousands, reimbursed a few hundred
I’ve carried insurance on two dogs for the span of almost their lifetimes. One pup I dropped insurance at age 8, the other kept until she passed (more active dog). When my pup was diagnosed with lymphoma, I thought I’d be happy to have the insurance. I was reimbursed for 1/4 of what was I spent. Cancer meds not being covered, consult fees not being covered. I’m really wondering now if the thousands I spent on pet insurance was ever really worth it.
Embrace - Not satisfied
I’ve been paying every month for a year, my dog has an accident, and I submitted everything to them, they denied the claim saying it wasn’t an accident when the veterinarians notes clearly said it was an accident for acute lameness. Long story short, after I placed a call to them, they are only paying out $41 and my bill was over 200. They said I would’ve got more if my dog was in the rewards program which nobody ever told me about and it would be more money that I would have to pay monthly. I canceled.
Embrace - Don't bother unless your pet is a newborn!
Unless you begin to insure your pet from the time they are born, this insurance is useless. They consider everything you have taken your pet to vet for as a PRE-EXISTING CONDITION and do not cover. It's useless for a pet like ours that is 6yrs old. You also have no control or idea what the vet writes in the medical records and will consider that as PRE-EXISTING. Disappointed and if my claim for our last visit is not covered, I will likely cancel this insurance.
Embrace - So far so good
So far so good. Waiting on a claim payment over one month. However they reassure me that it will be paid asap.
Embrace - Claims site is terrible
Claims site is terrible, both on app and via web. Uploaded every possible clinical document, but they didn't seem like they even looked at them and delayed claim process while "awaiting clinical information". I still haven't had an outcome but Embrace sent me an email asking me to review them, so this is where we are at. Maybe when the claim is finally adjudicated, I may have further feedback.
Embrace - Horrible
UPDATE: Replying to Embrace Pet Insurance . I don't think that's true that 92% get approved. There are tons of reddits of customers complaining that your company will find anything as a preexisting. I stand by my experience this company was horrible to deal with and every little thing will be "oh that was a preexisting" I even had the medical director email the underwriter to say No this wasn't preexisting and a "cough" doesn't mean a dog has preexisting heart disease, give me a break, don't you think I would have seen a cardiologist sooner if that was the case? They make up their own stories and tell you that it was "preexisting" when I told them my dog just got newly diagnosed and it's upsetting, nope they don't believe you. I do not trust this company. I cancelled my insurance and will pay out of pocket. Scams. Google on reddit this company too, you will see it's not just me.
Horrible, they chose every reason as a "pre existing" Like if my dog had a cough that means he has heart disease. It was so ridiculous and causing me so much stress on top of me having stress of my dogs new diagnosis that i cancelled and am just going to save up money. They are scammers. Absolutely ridiculous really.
