Embrace - Pet insurance is a waste of money
It's not so much of what embrace did wrong as much as it is that getting pet insurance is a big waste of money. first of all, you get pet insurance in case of an emergency and you don't have cash at hand, correct? well you have pet insurance you pay all those premiums and everything and still during an emergency they don't cover it they pay you back so you still need cash on hand for any emergency, that doesn't make no sense. Me and my boyfriend aren't worried about getting paid back for paying for vet bills we are just interested in pet insurance just in case there was no money in our animal got hurt so I don't suggest pet insurance to anybody, I just decided to take everything that I would put towards pet insurance every month and put it away in a jar or something cuz then in an emergency I'll have that which would help but pet insurance does not help, so would I recommend pet insurance to anybody I would not I would tell them absolutely waste of money
Embrace - They take too long to review claims
They take too long to review claims. I have 2 open claims with cost in the thousands and the claim is still in "review".
Embrace - The response rate is EXTREMELY slow for…
The response rate is EXTREMELY slow for very basic claims. It took months for Embrace to obtain obtain documentation which I obtained with a quick phone call. They payment for my covered claim took months. I would recommend paying more for another service for a better response rate.
Seven years of being a customer with four dogs at one point. I only have two on the policy now, but since they were born. Out of the blue this year for no cause (and I have not used hardly any of the benefit in 7 years) Embrace raised my rate $116 a month, bringing my total to $3880 a year... Ridiculous! They can't explain why, just says it is that now. They've got you by the shorts at 7 years into a policy, given the average life expectancy of a dog. It's nearly impossible to find a more affordable insurance provider on a dog at this point in their life cycle. There are sure to be "pre-existing" conditions if trying for a new policy, which will jack up your rates. Everything was good with Embrace until this point, but when they know they have you and you are most vulnerable, they grossly increase your rates. This is a terrible business practice and a kick in the teeth, so if you're shopping for pet insurance, be warned!
Embrace - Doesn't allow current diagnosis to be type in
Whenever I type in the current diagnosis, I'm given the previous diagnosis to choose from. Your system doesn't accept the current diagnosis, insisting no diagnosis was provided.
I've been largely happy with Embrace from a service level. In this particular instance I found myself extremely frustrated. This is regardless of whatever decisions they make regarding my claim. I tried to do everything through the app.
The app tried to force me to upload a photo rather than the much easier pdf I received from my vet. By the time I printed the PDF so that I could take a photo, the app constantly and repeatedly crashed. I ultimately completed the claim submission via the website (using the actual PDF from my vet,) but found the submission process very frustrating.
Embrace - Trash
Trash. Preexisting conditions limitations basically make anything uninsurable. What a grift.
Embrace - Phone communication lacking reasonable customer service
I called to inquire about wellness coverage/cost for teeth cleaning. I was speaking to someone not knowledgeable about Embrace insurance coverage; it seems like I am talking to call center in Philippine. I was not getting my point across.
Embrace - Summitted a claim for a lump in my dog neck.
Summitted a claim for a lump in my dogs neck. EC0865-6576, the vet did a needle aspiration of the cyst and found it to be non cancerous, thank god. But Embrace said it was a skin condition and that no needle aspiration was done when the invoice clearly stated they had performed a needle aspiration of the cyst. I complained to only have them tell me it was not covered and if she had cancer in the future she would not be covered. Very Dissapointed.
Embrace - embrace is horrible
embrace is horrible. our dog had giardia from the shelter we rescued her from 11 1/2 months ago. during that time, embrace claimed any type of upset stomach was due to her having giardia months ago and each time she had an upset stomach, they would extend giardia as a pre-existing condition 12 months (IM NOT MAKING THIS UP. IT'S INSANE). she hadn't had any stomach trouble for 11 1/2 months. she then got 2 very serious vaccines and had an upset stomach for a day (which our vet said is extremely common). embrace is telling me this is because of giardia and that they're extending the pre-existing definition of giardia another 12 months. they won't return any of my calls. i would never ever recommend them to anyone. i plan on leaving if they don't resolve this and i hope no one ever uses them. there are so many better alternatives.
