Embrace - Disappointed after 5 years
I liked the first 5 years my dog was insured with Embrace for $55 per month. We had one claim that exceeded our deductible and the process for reimbursement went easily. However, I was incredibly disappointed when my dog turned 5 and we moved to a different state that my monthly premium more than doubled to $120 per montb when other insurers such as Met Life Pet Insurance gave me a less expensive rate, $45 per month, for the same coverage ($15k per year with a $1k deductible) I had with Embrace for the same dog - 5 year old Newfiedoodle. I moved from LA to PHX and all my other insurance costs (home, car, health etc.) have gone down rather than more than doubled.
Embrace - I was disappointed entirely
I was disappointed entirely. I paid for the most expensive coverage snd only got back less than 150 out of a nearly 700 bill. They didn't cover the deposit my vet charged even though that went to the exam fee. They didn't cover any of the shots or tests needed nor any medication. I am entirely unhappy. I found other companies for less money per month that when given the same recipt would cover almost every dollar.

My claims continue to be rejected as pre existing conditions; in hindsight I would not go with this company. This company doesn't have your pet welfare in mind; the profits steer their decisions.

Very horrible and deceiving insurance company. They received your claims and do not process them even though they fall within their policy within a new excuse each time.
Embrace - They refused to cover my street rescue…
They refused to cover my street rescue pup when he got the respiratory illness that was plaguing dogs in 2023 bc he had a documented COUGH when I first got him and during his 30 day wait period. It had been months that he had recovered from the initial cough before the respiratory illness that cost me thousands. Then January 1, 2024, he starts limping. We go through months of diagnostics and possibly treatments. I try to file all the bills but continually keep getting kicked off the app and site. Help line consistently has long wait time but I understood that I had 365 days from vet visit to file for reimbursement. WRONG! Denied, again! I can't switch to another company bc now he's got multiple pre existing conditions 😡

I would give -1 if I could, they tell you one thing to get you to sign up (4dogs) but when it comes time to JUST add to the co pay, not even pay you for any thing, then everything changes! had a new vet that day (that I swear must work for them) said my 3 year old very healthy boy who twisted his neck, have some sort of Orthopedic disease!!! Even after I spoke to the vet and she CORRECTED the paperwork, they were terrible! I cancelled all of my dogs insurance with them. Again, you posted “Pre existing” yet the vet herself told me she corrected that in a letter to you. So I am still very glad I canceled all 4 of my policies with you!
Embrace - Customer service
I called to check on claim status and to change payment for my renewal due on 1/11/25 and it now appears my policy was cancelled. I do not see an option to renew with my new payment method. Bad communication sadly. I called today and had a fantastic rep , all is good and thank you for the follow up.
Embrace - Ill informed customer service
I was told over a year ago that my monthly laser treatments for my old dogs arthritis would not be covered I still continue as I could see it benefit her. I come to find out it would have been covered all this time!
I was also told a year ago that the lower back issue my other dog would not be covered but as a good pet parent continue out of pocket to have him also treated.
I come to find out now that this too would have been covered after his issues have become chronic and needed to see a specialist.
The customer service people need better education and maybe provide a list of what is covered to insurance holders. I’m upset that all the money I put out for insurance and only come to find out now that I could have put in claims all this time.
It was implied to only use the insurance for emergencies. Which I have done!
Makes me not happy with the company.
Embrace - Please give us a better explanation for denial.
Embrace kept denying my claims stating unclear invoice. We were sending a very clear invoice and the claims were piling up. Finally I called and was told it was because there was not a year included on the invoices. Just the month and day.
This was a very legitimate reason but would have been SO MUCH EASIER for me if I was told the reason in the first place.
