ASPCA Pet Insurance - Didn't cover some of the vaccine costs…
Didn't cover some of the vaccine costs required for my dog to go to daycare, and it was also not effective in covering the cost of an exam.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Terrible insurance
Terrible insurance. More expensive than most of insurances and keep denying claims for ridiculous reasons. They say something is pre-existing but it is not. They bend the rules in their favor. We were clients for 3 years afraid of leaving and something bad happens to our dog. But enough is enough.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Good Luck with Reimbursements
Been a customer for 6 months now, took cat to vet for urinalysis because she was peeing everywhere. Claim denied because ASPCA says they cant obtain medical records. See disclaimer at bottom of their website " The ASPCA® is not an insurer and is not engaged in the business of insurance. " Also no close account option in their customer portal. Closing account. Wont return.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Waste of money
Everything, Every. Single. Thing. was somehow coded under "pre-existing condition". Not once did anyone listen to me when I called to explain what the Vet procedure was for. ASPCA connected everything to some pre-existing condition and never approved a claim. Ever. I was basically paying ASPCA to tell me that they will not cover anything that I have done for my pet. Urine test, nope, Fecal test, nope. Blood work, nope, X-rays, nope. Ultrasound, nope. Medication, nope. teeth cleaning with a cyst removal, nope. My dog has never had health issues, still doesn't but somehow they have linked all of this together to something they call pre-existing. They never explained what the pre-existing condition is and never backed down from defending their decision. Never again, never recommend. Cancelled immediately.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Unfair denial of last claim
Our last claim for NoName for over $1600 was rejected by this company for no good reason. Allegedly there was no track record for his recent illness and treatment, but we have always cared for him properly (he was a stray nearly 5 years ago, blind and neglected) taking him to several vets. We had to take him to several owing to the pandemic, and a large portion of his last visit should have been reimburse-able. We are long time clients with multiple animals and feel very much let down. We have made 2 appeals with no satisfaction.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - I just recently signed up for this pet…
I just recently signed up for this pet insurance, and have submitted one receipt for Veterinary visit. It was rejected because they need all my records from every single Veterinary visits she has ever had, and I’m finding it very difficult to negotiate what needs to be done. I am giving it one more try, but they are making it very difficult in my opinion.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Just joined
Just joined. No experience yet. Don't ask new members to review a product they have no experience with. Ask me after I submit a bill. Have used Trupanion. Will compare when appropriate.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Average
It’s decent. I adopted a dog from a rescue shelter who has allergies. Apparently allergies won’t be covered since he had it prior to the adoption. I find that part to be sad. While I have a similar mission of saving dogs instead of buying a puppy like most people, apparently only the ones who buy puppies without preexisting allergies will be covered.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - This is regarding claim from October…
This is regarding claim from October 2023. The claim was denied repeatedly due to need for medical records from the vet clinic. The clinic sent records (wrong date as it turns out) but the follow up communication from the insurer was totally inadequate to resolve. Very frustrating.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Policy Wrongfully Cancelled Without Notice.
My only issue with the insurance is that you get an email stating that your pets policy has been cancelled without your knowledge. When you actually speak with an agent and was told that the co-owner cancelled it, and they have every right to do so. Well, I asked my husband and told me that he didn't. First off he isn't computer literate, he has me go over his emails with him and has me delete, or respond to the emails for him. Secondly, he never received an email from ASPCA regarding the policy. Thirdly, I'm the one who pays the monthly premiums. Last but not least, I never added him has co-owner on the policy. The agent I spoke with assured me that she put in a reinstatement, effective November 8, 2024. She swore to me, assured me that all has been taken care of and that there will not be a problem. Low and behold, ASPCA is advising me that I would have to reapply after being with them for over five years with my current pet, and an additional 5/6 years with my previous pet.
