Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Healthy paws pet insurance
Is it even legal for Healthy Paws pet insurance to increase premiums at almost 200% in CA? This is outrageously high!! Anyone experiencing the same?

Cigna - Understanding Potential Timeline With COBRA & Receiving Cigna ID
Last month, I was laid off. I opted into COBRA with a start date of 04/01. The paperwork was sent to me last Wednesday, I elected into it Thursday, and paid my premium on Friday.
Today, I logged into Cigna and it's showing I'm inactive with no insurance. After a few hours of customer service between the COBRA intermediary (WageWorks), they assured me I'm active and it takes a couple of weeks for Cigna to process. They sent things over yesterday and said my insurance would be dated 04/01.
On the chat, Cigna wasn't able to help very much (which I understand).
Is there anything else I should work on during this transitional time? Or, have others had success with waiting and letting the process work itself out?
Thank you all so much!
PENNIE - PENNIE (Pa) questions
I was laid off effective 3/31. (Thanks, Trump and Musk.)
I filled out the application with PENNIE on 3/31. Got approved and told I have 60 days to select a plan. I called PA/PENNIE then. I didn't have my COBRA info yet so couldn't make an informed decision.
I just logged back on to PENNIE and while it still says "you have 52 days to choose a plan," the effective date is coming up as May 1st, not retro to April 1st (like how COBRA works).
I've called and the rep is not well-informed. The last time I called, another rep said "yes you can choose later and it goes retroactive."
Progressive - Follow up on out of state student car insurance
So, in December my son took one of our cars from Florida to Virginia for university. VA required limits are much higher than in FL and changing the limits, plus garaging the car in VA, raised our Progressive policy to almost 3 times it's cost.
Instead, it was suggested by the insurer we get a different policy for the car in VA. And we did so, through Geico.
Now we have 1 policy in VA for my son and I and 1 car. One policy in FL for my son and I and the other car.
Today, I received a notice from the state of FL that they are going to cancel my registration because the Cadillac (car in VA under Geico policy) doesn't have insurance, according to their records). Sigh.
Will FL accept the VA policy? I can't really register the car in VA since I don't live there and the car is in my name. And both the kid and I have FL licenses because he is a student, so his residence is still FL.
Is the only solution to pay 3 times the amount?
Progressive - Release of All Claims
Someone hit my house with their car and caused property damage. The driver was determined to be liable and has Progressive insurance. I have an active third party claim with Progressive. The adjuster provided an estimate for the damages and a release of all claims form to sign in order to receive the settlement. Once signed, the release prevents any supplemental claims from the accident.
I believe the estimate should cover the repairs, but I am not comfortable signing the release until the repairs are finished, or at least started, so I know for sure there are no further damages that are not visible.
Do I have to sign the release before starting work or is the expectation that I would sign it at conclusion of work? Is there a specific amount of time in which I am required to sign the release of all claims form after it is initialized? My preference is to wait, but this is all new to me, and I am worried about making a mistake. My adjuster has not been very forthcoming with information, so I wanted to come here first for advice.
Any info, especially related to Progressive third party claims, is appreciated.
State Farm - Insurance Renewal/Non-Renewal
Ins: State Farm
I got into a wreck that I was deemed at-fault for in May 2024. My auto policy at that time renewed from Feb 2024-August 2024. In August 2024, they renewed me again and raised my rate (obviously). Then in December 2024, I received a letter from State Farm saying they weren’t renewing me (Feb 2025-Aug 2025) for being high-risk and I had to find new coverage. So my question is: Why did they renew me again in August 2024? Why didn’t they just non-renew me at that point?
Progressive - Work Truck on freeway had a rock from it’s trailer hit my windshield (Oregon)
Was driving on the freeway and a ~2 inch rock came out of their un-tarped trailer and hit my windshield at about 65 mph. They did not have a rear license plate visible. Front registration plate was orange and I believe it to be an Oregon apportioned truck plate. I was not able to get a clear picture of their plate.
I spoke to our state police and they gave me a case number for insurance purposes. Went to file a claim with Progressive and it turns out my deductible ($500) is more than replacing the windshield ($388) so they just recommend I pay for it without insurance.
Shouldn’t the other truck’s insurance be paying for this?? I don’t know what to do other than pay for the replacement out of pocket and hope to make contact with the other party’s insurance after the fact.
He wouldn’t stop as I tried to get his attention but I was able to take some pictures… on the side of the rear trailer is a logo for “The Shaw Group” and some sort of identifying number (T1210xx… censored for this post).
Northwestern Mutual - Life and disability insurance question
Hi everyone, I got to this forum after seeing some "NW mutual life insurance is a scam" posts and i'm not sure if I got scammed. I was in medical training when a financial adviser told me about getting disability and life insurance.. with NW mutual... I'm 35 years old, very healthy, I pay about 87$ for 2M Term to 80 policy with no annual dividend. And my premium for disability is $110.. Looking for advice if I should switch to a different broker (if thats an option) or just general advice.
Nationwide - another nationwide post
pretty pissed tbh...my corgi went through a bad bout of emergency diagnostics early this year, all covered by nationwide at the time.
He went back recently to have a recheck, sent it into nation wide like I had already done, suddenly it's denied. I did the review request and provided tons of documentation from the doctors. they claim its preexisting, and also went and retroactively said that all of my other claims shouldn't have been paid out.
He was diagnosed with protein losing enteropathy, and they're saying that because he "vomited" earlier in the year (our first sign), thats preexisting. This is insane. Cancel your shit before you have an emergency and it happens to you
Liberty Mutual - Liberty mutual....
Has anyone else had issues with them. Recently had hail damage to home and they gave my contractors heck. The adjuster did a half azz job while taking notes for the claim. Contractors came and wanted to add more due to the OBVIOUS DAMAGE that was left off. They denied it. Meanwhile im watching my neighbors get their siding replaced along with their sheds lol. Im between these two homes at that. They also called contractors lying saying photos weren't real and I had to go and prove and sign off that they were. You pay as you should and when its time to use them they nickel and dime you.
