Waggy Pet - Paid $135 for the letter that never…
Paid $135 for the letter that never arrived.
Go Pet Plan - Been with them 11 years, Never again!
Been with them 11 years will never go with them with any new pets from now on. They have gone from great to horrible. They used to pay within 2 to 3 days you would have a check in the mail they were great! Then they get bought out by other companies and it just slides downhill from there. Now you get turned down for so many things saying that they need more information even though you’ve sent them everything and the vets are specialists (aka lower reimbursement) and have been the same vets they have covered for years. You have to call or within a short time frame as you have agreed in fine print (added into
Waggy Pet - They let my mini dachshund,Lili out
They let my mini dachshund,Lili out. She was gone 4 nites and 3 days. My neice posted on her Facebook page and by the grace of God, she was found. All the owners did was put up a few posters. My family was on foot 3 days and plastered the neighborhood. If u love ur dog...DO NOT board with them. I don't care how many good reviews. It takes 1 trauma to learn a lesson. Also u should never pay for boarding ur pet up front. That is a bad sign. I never had to do that in any state.
Go Pet Plan - Pet plan gouges customers
Pet plan gouges customers as your pet ages, claiming its because of the breed. My premiums have gone from $55 per month to $116 over the 7 years I have insured with them. This makes it unaffordable to insure them as their needs increase. Better off to put $50 a month into a savings account and get compounding interest to cover the vet bills. And hey if the pet lives a long healthy life and dies peacefully with only a euthanasia bill to put them to sleep you'll be able to use the money to buy another dog or even better get a rescue dog and take them on a holiday in the car you'll be able to buy from the savings instead of Pet Plan making a profit. Shame on you pet plan, shame!
Go Pet Plan - PETPLAN IS NOT THE COMPANY IT USED TO BE!
My cats have been insured with Petplan for many years. When I started with them they were a great company - fair and ethical. No more.
AKC Pet Insurance - My Experience is getting better
UPDATE: Changing my review from 1 star to 3 based on a recent conversation I had with the manager. My claims are being worked. He spoke with the Vet on the phone to get all of the needed information since it was not being clearly communicated via fax and email. It took some work but I am thankful that the manager was able to resolve my issues.
AKC Pet Insurance - Happy with Results but may take some time and energy to get claims paid
UPDATE: My pneumonia claim is now being processed. I am satisfied with the results of my claims. It did take time for issues to get resolved but thankfully the manager working the case got in touch with the vet on the phone to work out any miscommunications.
Go Pet Plan - Disgusted
When I got my puppy he had some flea bites that were clearing up, a year later he was biting his legs, vet seemed to think he had a flea allergy, Petplan wouldn’t pay as they said he had fleas bites as a puppy. The vet wrote them a letter to say it wasn’t related. But they said no it was the same. Another year later the problem came back, but I then found out it wasn’t a flea allergy he was allergic to grass over spring- summer. Petplan said it was the same thing I wasn’t insured ! . My vet was furious as this has happened before to other clients. So now if he has any skin problems he is not insured because he had some flea bites as a puppy. !!!!!!!
Go Pet Plan - Save your money and go with someone else....
How this company has almost a five star rating is beyond me, despite the fact that it has one bad review after another on most forums and sites, including this one. This company will gladly take your monthly premiums, but the moment you start to submit any kinds of claims or your pet simply starts to age beyond one year of age, they will decrease your coverage and increase your premiums without giving you any kind of real justification other than the obvious that they want your money but they don't want to ever pay out any claims. They take forever to process any claims you submit, jack up your premiums by ridiculous amounts after year one, the customer service is a joke and they just outright price gauge and rip off their customers and feel absolutely no remorse for doing so. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Go with Trupanion - a company that does indeed genuinely care about your pet and their health vs. just your money and wallet like Petplan. Our other dog is insured with them and we regret to this day having been talked into trying Petplan and going with them for our second dog. Worst mistake ever. DO NOT give this con artist company any of your hard earned money - as you'll get nothing in return when your pet truly needs the coverage you thought you were paying for! Shame on you Petplan - for claiming you care about consumer's pets when clearly all you care about is the almighty profits!!
Go Pet Plan - 12 yr. loyal customer of PetPlan...
I've been with PetPlan for almost 12 yrs. I understand the increase in rates due to age, but this last increase was ridiculous. I've always had the policy of $100 deductible per condition (because when I signed up 12 yrs. ago they did not have annual deductibles), 90% down to 80% reimbursement. And PetPlan has paid almost all of Molly's claims. Molly is 14 yrs. old now. Last year my monthly rates were $218. I got my renewal letter today and my rates doubled and are now $422 a month. When I called to see if this was right, I was told that the rates went up because of Molly's age and because they no longer offer the $100 deductible to new clients...the deductible was raised to $250. Even if I took the $750 annual deduction, my rate would be $432. I'm sincerely hoping my rates did not go up because of her medical conditions, but at this point I'm not sure. Molly is my heart and at this point I feel PetPlan is making me choose between their renewal policy or Molly.
