Spot - Frustrating Experience with SPOT Pet Insurance
After considering switching to SPOT for my pet insurance, I decided to test their service by submitting two claims. Both were denied due to "missing medical records," despite the fact that I had already provided the necessary documents from both myself and my pet's hospital. Even after having the claims reopened, they were ultimately declined again. Thankfully, I hadn't canceled my existing pet insurance, anticipating potential issues like this. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend SPOT Pet Insurance.
Pets Best - Awful- Deny and Delay Claims is the game
Awful! They continuously look at ways to get out of paying claims and will even call your vet to ask them to alter their SOAP notes.
Don't be fooled by the cute advertisements; four years of paying premiums for ZERO reimbursement after an ER visit that was a first time diagnosis.
Embrace - Your insurance sucks
Your insurance sucks! How can you deny a claim for a one-year old puppy because of preexisting condition. She’s only a year old! I assumed since you were affiliated with USAA, that you were a reputable company. I was sadly mistaken.

Embrace denies claims for many reasons of which you basically have NO WAY to argue and or appeal. They deny ALL the time. They take your money but do not pay. The refuse everything and you basically have no way to argue. Forget trying to email them or call them. "No-Reply emails" are always sent. I would avoid them at all costs. I was not reimbursed, did not have the funds to help my dog and hence he subsequently passed. Embrace does not care about you only your money.
Embrace will of course respond stating they care but they don't. Don't believe them when they respond - they will continue to claim "Pre-existing conditions" such as a wart on your dogs skin as a pre-existing condition to a tumor. I kid you not! They are horrible
MetLife - Nightmare at METLIFE PET
There are no "0" stars permitted as MetLife Pet does not deserve the one. This has to be the worst company, let alone insurance company that I have had the misfortune of purchasing pet insurance for my dog. I will keep this brief unlike the FIVE or more telephone calls, multiple emails of SOAPS and MetLife Pet App submissions of SOAPS and Invoices. There are now multiple copies of everything and they are still NOT processing the claims because there are no SOAPS for three urinalysis reports and my claims will expire as they sent me an email that they were giving me NINE days to submit all SOAPS that had already been submitted and resubmitted. DO NOT PURCHASE METLIFE PET INSURANCE!
Pets Best - Worst communication ever
Pets best- we got your claim if we need anything we’ll contact your vet. Weeks later: claim denied! On investigating, they contacted wrong vet (how?) and never got a response and denied the claim! Never contacted me just put it in the claim that it was denied for lack of supporting documents. This is a six month old puppy with his first ear infection! All clearly stated on original docs provided with claim, as well as the vet who treated him. Now almost two months later, still dealing with this claim. I will be finding a different insurer
ASPCA - I was charged twice for pet insurance…
I was charged twice for pet insurance once on date due and again just recently for a dog who is my service animal for a mix of mental health issues please reach out to me so we can fix this or lawsuit will be filed
Pets Best - I can’t recommend
After being insured for over five years, the time came to file a claim for a major event that resulted in ER care. Provided all records from our standard vet and the ER Clinic.
Deny. Deny. Deny! Make sure you go through the appeals process and then file a complaint with your State’s Department of Insurance.
Pet insurance isn’t as cut and dry as human insurance; diagnosis coding guidelines, etc. In some instances, vets have been contacted my pet insurance plans and requested to alter their notes- of course to get the company out from paying claims.
Fetch Canada - Absolutely awful experience
Absolutely awful experience. Anything I’ve tried to put through for both of my animals has been a nightmare.. I got email saying I don’t have a file with them today. Got an email asking me for information from my other insurance company. I don’t have another insurance company.. They don’t seem to know who I am. I get told to submit information and they review it and they rejected it. I’m just confused. I do not like this company whatsoever. I can’t give it a high rating whatsoever either.. I would use a different organization if I were you. When it was a mistake, it took over two months to fix and over 20 phone calls. Confirm me it was fixed and in the end, not getting the claim reviewed so far every kind of put through from my one dog has been denied for some reason or other, they seem to find things and make up things so they were a bit of a joke.. The front end people are sweet, but not very bright. The back of people Don’t seem to connect with the front line people whatsoever or read the notes I give his company a zero rating. If you $162 a month in this company has cost me more than I could ever spend on the dogs just crazy. Add a different organization in the past with mother animals never had this problem.
