Trupanion - Do not get Trupanion
Do not get Trupanion! They treat your pet like it’s car insurance. Why do I need to pay 40$ extra dollars a month because I live in a better neighborhood than I did before? I called them and they said that pet insurance is like car insurance. They go by casualties that happen in certain zip codes. Are you kidding me??? My pet doesn’t get sick, ever and you’re telling me I have to pay more because through a zip code it says that dogs in that are get more sick than others??? This is ridiculous!!!! Starting to sound like human corporate.
I’m editing to respond to your non sense response. Exactly, you make a policy due to breeds and their genetic predispositions. I never said I am changing animal hospital, I’m just moving into a new home. I will still go to the same hospital I’ve always gone to, no matter the zip code.
I am extremely dissatisfied with Trupanion. While I understand that geographic factors can influence rates, I find it unreasonable and unfair that this adjustment has no direct correlation to my dog’s breed, health, or claims history. My dog’s risk factors remain unchanged regardless of my address, and I believe premiums should primarily reflect the individual pet and policyholder’s history, not a generalization based on location. This increase feels disproportionate and unjustified.
I used to value the coverage your company provides but am deeply concerned about the fairness of this adjustment. I would never recommend you guys again.
Pets Best - Try hard to get out of paying for emergencies
Have had this insurance for almost 10 years, but as usual when you really need them they what to classify an accident as a medical condition to get out of paying emergency vet bills.
Fetch Canada - Extremely difficult to deal with
If you have ample time to debate with these people and call in on every claim, resubmit every detail multiple times and waste hours or your life, it’s right for you.
Your app needs more space to put in notes as a one liner description is inadequate since your team does not examine documents thoroughly.
I have had to submit & appeal basically everything I did; To the point where I waited on all my claims to be completed before I made my call as I don’t have time to call on each and every claim every step of the way.

I have submitted my receipt several times. I have 2 dogs that were both seen the same day. Each dog has totals on the receipt followed by tax and total. Each time you send it back saying the receipt is not readable. This is total BS. The receipt is CLEAR, your just not wanting to honor your part!

CAUTION DO NOT GO HERE. THEY COMMIT FRAUD. AND CHARGE FEES AND DO NOT REALLY DO THE LAB. THEY DOCUMENT FALSE REPORTS NEVER DONE IN PET CHARTS.
ASPCA - It's been 4 months
It's been 4 months, and there has been no payment of the claims submitted. All paperwork from the vet's office was submitted 3 separate times. They denied the claim, without notifying me, and stated when I reached out 3 times that they needed further documents PRIOR to the claim. I explained, repeatedly, that there are NO other records since she was a rescue from a family getting rid of the kitten. She has no other paperwork, and she was flown in from another state to save her. They said they'd note that and that would be fine.
No, they denied it again and claimed they needed a year's worth of documents prior to the submitted claim.
Again, I explained - there are NO other documents as she had never been seen previously.
Still...nothing.
They are clearly just reading from a script, as I hear the exact same wording again and again when I deal with the incompetent call center who has no power to effect change at all.
This company is fraudulent. Do not be fooled by the cute website and such. They are not in the healthcare business at all, and it's a real shame that the ASPCA would tarnish its name with these BUSINESS dealings.
Stick to rescuing animals, and stay out of the business side of dealing with animals, because this service is not about helping animals at all.
Healthy Paws - Monthly payment tripled
I have been with this company since the 90's. My recent experience has been nothing short of a horror show. I have had a small mixed breed since 2013. Accidentally, my vet sent a document stating my dog was a bulldog, and my monthly payments went from $186 to $486. It is now 3 weeks later, seven emails from my vet stating their clerical error, 5 customer service agents at Healthy Paws (useless), two customer service liaisons at Healthy Paws (broken promises), and my monthly payment is still $486. Tomorrow, I will make my eleventh phone call to a Healthy Paws useless agent, telling my entire story again because this company doesn't allow you to speak to the same person and I probably will get nowhere. There is no one I can call to fix this problem. After my 15-year-old dog passes, I will never go back to this company. There are plenty of dog insurances out there.

I haven been trying to sign into my account to see what I purchased but they do not answer the phone. They have instructions what to do if unable to sign in but it does not work. I did get someone once and he said he will send me a fake sign in word and then change it to my one. The problem his “Embrase123” would not open up the sign and says Rejected. I tried hiding it over and over but the site is messed up. Called over the last 3 days and called today and of course a woman announces that they are closed on MLK holiday and hung up. They are a lot of competitive pet insurances around running for the same cost and I am sure they will be happy to talk to. I not seen nothing from Embrace to make me feel like it is the special place for my Gracie.
Spot - Not Dependable
I was issued reimbursement for my puppy on December 30,2024. I was told check was mailed out on January 3, 2025. Told to wait 7 to 10 business days which I did. No check. Called and was told to give it until the 17th of January but still no check. Called again and was told to give it until the 20 of January. Still no check. Called on the 21 of January and was issued a new check and now they have went from a check arriving in 7 to 10 days to saying it will be up to 20 business days for me to receive my check. I have direct deposit but yet they say they can’t put it in direct deposit because I didn’t sign up for direct deposited when I first did the claim. There is no way that it takes a check this long to arrive to anybody. This place is not reliable and I would advise people not to use this insurance for your pet cause you will not get your money back in a timely manner and they will feed you with false information about your reimbursement. This is my first and last time using this company and I have opted out of this service. Will not ever be using Spot again.
