Pets Best - Look elsewhere, 3 years a client and leaving.
I have used them since the arrival of my puppy and have kept them for 3 years. The first 2 years, they were great. He has issues with bloody diarrhea and vomiting and they covered about 50% which was about $2.5G (I had the most expensive coverage). This last year, they have not reimbursed me for much. When I appealed, they stated that because my dog had an ear infection - all my claims are related to this pre-existing condition. The same condition he had the prior 2 years when they covered a good portion of his vet bills. I knew something was up when they periodically kept requesting his complete medical history even though he was their client since day one and they have copies of all appointment notes. Save the $100/month cost and find another insurer

The coverage that this insurance company provides seems to be good. But when we first signed up on the phone with a promo code for first 30 days free the gentlemen had explained some great benefits such as the company pays upfront and that our clinic we take our dogs to is a partner with them. However, that was not the case when we talked to our vet clinic they said we have to submit a claim and pay upfront. We called back Trupanion to clarify again and the first person who answered did not have any answers so he transferred us and then the other employee that we got transferred to explained something different. We had also seen a brochure that there is “instant coverage with no waiting period” but we got told on the phone if we wanted to add a second dog we had to do a waiting period of 30 days in order to receive coverage for the second animal. It does not sound like the employees/company are all on the same page. Very nice employees but very confusing policies and after the 30 day period we will not be continuing.
Nationwide - It is not easy to renew policies…
It is not easy to renew policies on-line, this is the second year in a row I had to call to renew my policy. It took me over one-hour on the phone. This is the last year I will be using nationwide for my pet insurance.
MetLife - I keep getting claim denials
I keep getting claim denials, live chat never works, wait on hold forever to only get open-ended non-answers. Emails never answered. My last claim they wanted my pet's SOAP notes. Turned them in and still another 10-15 days. It has already been a month. I'm about ready to contact the BBB and/or my state attorney general to file a complaint.

You’re better off saving your money on your own because these guys will not pay out a single claim. Bought insurance for my kitten and during the first year she felt a bit sick so took her to the vet and she got treated for a slight respiratory virus. Fetch didn’t cover because of some BS they stated. It wasn’t a lot of money so I said ok I will let it slide. It came time to neuter her and I opted for a plan that covered part of neutering. Nope denied too because it needed an add on. They are complete crooks, stay away.

Healthy Paws - Claims process a hassle
I have had many headaches submitting claims. Sometimes Healthy Paws will contact my vet for records, sometimes I get a message saying I have to contact the vet and have them send records. I work late at night, so I can’t contact anyone after work, and I frequently don’t have time before work to try getting through to the vet to have records sent in. So multiple claims have been denied because I couldn’t get in touch with the vet to have records sent in within the timeframe given. I also had an incident of sending in a dozen invoices at one time and all were denied before the end of the day. I seriously doubt they were even looked at before being denied because when I called customer service to find out what the f was going on, all were approved on review. Because of all the hassle, I would only submit claims when I would have the time and energy to call the vet to have records sent in and call customer service if the claims were denied. That wasn’t often, so I literally have a stack of unsubmitted claims 2 inches thick that goes back years amounting to tens of thousands of dollars.
