Embrace - If I could leave less than one star I…
If I could leave less than one star I would. I was told this was a great pet insurance company, but they consider normal things such as tartar (which every human and dog has) as 'existing conditions' and do what other insurance companies do - 'deny, delay, defend.' To be clear - the 'pre-existing' conditions were - according to our vet and the surgeon - what are 'normal' conditions, such as having GI upsets from time to time. So, not something like a pre-existing diagnosis for cancer or parvo or anything like that, which would be understandable. PLUS, they wanted to be a 'secondary' insurance carrier. Anyway, I canceled my insurance after a few months! I also told a friend I'd recommended this to, to do the same, but she'd already decided that on her own, because she had the same issues. Terrible!
Trupanion - Biggest mistake ever
Biggest mistake ever. Yearly increases are INSANE..... These crooks know they have you by the balls. I could by two more Bulldogs every year for what they charge yearly....
Healthy Paws - If I could give them a zero I would
If I could give them a zero I would. This is so unfortunate. We have been HP customers since 2014. We just got notice that our premiums are going up $300 a month. I want to be clear that this post isn’t because the premium increases, it’s that fact that it increased without reason by 300 a month! When I inquired I got numerous different stories reasons why (we have not had any claims in 5 years and zero with two of the dogs). When I inquired further the excuses just continued. We will be leaving and it’s sad. We were very loyal
Customers, minimal claims in the last 12 years, monthly payment NEVER missed. To get inconsistent stories, and no factual information was uncalled for. HP was in a huge lawsuit years ago for something similar to this. Steer clear lots of other insurance companies out there.
Fetch Canada - I was told on the phone a bunch of…
I was told on the phone a bunch of great things. Like when you put in a claim it takes a few days to be refunded if I got the wellness added to my pets insurance. But that is not true now that I put in a claim I’m told it can take almost a month. Why was I told a bunch of lies on the phone ? So you could get a new customer? I truly hope it does not take that long because if it does I won’t be staying with fetch. If I get it soon then I will change my review but I’m still not impressed with being told a different story just to hook a new customer
Pets Best - Irresponsible false advertising
Pets' Best website clearly states that *all* policies cover veterinary behaviorists, yet they refuse to cover claims involving veterinary behaviorists if you don't buy a special rider to cover office visits. They claim it's not their fault their website contradicts their policy documents, so they don't have to honor it. And you can't purchase the rider to cover office visits without canceling your existing policy and starting a new one that excludes pre-existing conditions, and no other insurance company will cover pre-existing conditions either, so you're stuck with a useless policy. If they don't stand behind their own claims on their website for this issue, you can be sure they won't stand behind other assurances they make. Avoid.
ASPCA - 90% Reimbursement is a Sham !!
My total bill for Ashley’s Vet Visit was 984.47 - I paid 500.00 deductible leaving 484.47 and I was reimbursed 82.85. Now this just doesn’t sit well with me. I was under the impression 90% reimbursement means I should receive 436.02. Was shocked when was told that they only pay what they feel is the appropriate charge for services provided. So think twice about using this insurance. I know I’m looking elsewhere.

ASPCA - Our family cat had a medical emergency…
Our family cat had a medical emergency and was vomiting blood and we had her covered by ASPCA. The vets were telling us it was medically necessary to keep her overnight and xray her. After providing all requested medical records which proved no prior medical issues, they flat out denied. UNBELIEVABLE! Warning do not spend you money with ASPCA or Fireman's Insurance. We need a class action against them for denying legitimate claims. I am honest and this was a medical emergency, my wife as a RN and I have EMT training a vet at 1AM saying it's an issue and them denied says enough. I'll take my pets and $1300 year premiums elsewhere.
Trupanion - DO NOT CHOOSE TRUPANION
Trupanion Pet Insurance has unethical pricing practices and misleading claims about their policy structure. I have been a loyal customer of Trupanion since my Cavalier was 8 weeks old, and in just two years, my monthly premium has increased by nearly 50%. Most recently, I received notification that my premium would rise again to an outrageous $205 per month for my now 2-year-old dog.
This increase is unreasonable, especially considering that my 5-year-old Cavalier is insured with another pet insurance company for half the cost. Despite Trupanion’s claims of being superior, their policy structure is far less consumer-friendly than competitors. Unlike other pet insurance providers that require only an annual deductible, Trupanion enforces a separate deductible per condition, making it difficult for to receive adequate reimbursements. Additionally, Trupanion promotes their “unlimited payouts,” yet many other companies offer the same benefit at significantly lower prices.
I have only filed 5 claims over the past 2 years, yet I have only been reimbursed a mere $56. Despite their assurances that premiums are not based on claim history but rather breed and geographic location, I find it highly suspicious that my premium continues to skyrocket. It appears that Trupanion is engaging in price gouging and misleading marketing to maximize profits while providing minimal benefits to policyholders.
I will be canceling my Trupanion policy and switching to Figo Pet Insurance, where I have been quoted a significantly lower monthly premium of $65 with better coverage—including a $250 annual deductible, unlimited payouts, and 90% reimbursement. Even with additional coverage for exam fees and wellness (which Trupanion does not offer), my Figo premium will be just $92—less than half of what Trupanion is charging.
Trupanion’s rates appear to be designed to take advantage of pet owners rather than provide fair and reasonable coverage.

We just signed up so I have very little to go on but one thing that I would suggest is once you sign up a new customer it would be great if you would provide a wallet sized card that shows, we carry this insurance and maybe an overview of the coverage?
