Spot - Absolutely the worst Pet Insurance…
Absolutely the worst Pet Insurance Company! Filed a WELLNESS Claim and they denied it even though it was covered. I have sent in the Invoices 19 times and they say they can't read them, but I sent the same invoices to other people and they are just fine.
SPOT PET INSURANCE IS A SCAM! DO NOT USE!
Spot - Spot citing ridiculous and invalid pre-existing condition to deny claims.
My dog recently had an issue with an abscessed tooth, which she is still being treated for.
The company has repeatedly denied insurance claims, citing a pre-existing condition, because the vet records show she had plaque on her teeth and gum disease signs in the past. The vet has confirmed these are not related and information has been repeatedly provided to Spot, yet they are still refusing to reimburse the claims. There will be other claims coming as well as she is still under treatment that I'm sure will be denied as well.
Trupanion - BEWARE! Your monthly cost will increase every year!
Just be aware that this company will raise the monthly cost of your pet insurance every year. My pet is 2-3 years old. Initially, my monthly cost for my dog was $109.61. After the first year they raised it to $150.38 and then again the next year to $244.87. Pretty disappointed and feel completely misled. Also, I pointed out to them that my dog never reached 90lbs as an adult (as wasexpected) which lowered my payment as my dog was now in the 50-90lb range. I called on the last day of the billing cycle and they said because I’m calling on the last day of the billing cycle they would not have this change go into effect until the next month. I asked if they could send me a check for the difference like most insurance companies do if you over pay and they refused. An extra $64 dollars for them that definitely is not warranted. Keep in mind I already overpaid them every month as my dog never reached the 90lb adult weight.
I just want people to be aware that this company will raise the monthly cost you are quoted. They will say the increase “is keeping with the trends for pets in your area.” In fact, I’m expecting another increase this July if the “trend” continues!
Healthy Paws - Collected my monthly fee for over a year
Update based on their reply:
They claimed "In situations where there is not a ton of medical history available, at minimum we will require the notes from the enrollment exam as outlined in your policy in order to process claims." I provided medical records dating back to 2017, with the most recent being 60 days prior to enrollment. TLDR; They use every technicality they can to deny claims.
They've been collecting my monthly fee for over a year and apparently I didn't provide the medical documentation they needed at time of enrollment – despite them sending be a confirmation email that they received my medical records AND the policy is active. Which means that this entire time I'm enrolled with them, nothing I ever would have submitted would get covered. Additionally, they're claiming one item as pre-existing condition, referencing the very medical records (from 2018) that they just said they can't use for our latest issue. Literally the one time my pet has ever needed coverage and during a very emotional time where he was diagnosed with a terminal condition. These companies are absolutely horrific and I'm never buying pet insurance again. Save your money and put your monthly fees in a savings account for medical issues – it will do you more than these companies ever will.
Pets Best - 80% Returned Wasnt There
I need to understand the policy. Maybe I signed and missed something. Our math isnt calculating.
Spot - Sometimes have to submit claims twice…
Sometimes have to submit claims twice or call customer service to get a claim paid.
Fetch Canada - What I find disturbing is my pup got…
What I find disturbing is my pup got insurance with fetch my pup was 8 weeks old and was told it will be $150 a month my sister also signed up and her play was $56 I called and was told it is because of her postal code we live 10 minutes away from each other so that makes absolutely no sense. So today a payment was due and they tried to take twice the amount that was her plan price. I will be canceling Maizie’s policy tomorrow along with my sister as she said the same thing. My vet said it is better to just save the money and if we don’t use it then we won’t be wasting money. Smart vet
Pets Best - Pets best is the worst
We paid for premium coverage and they only paid $150 of a $980 bill for getting our dog neutered. My understanding was this procedure was %100 covered. Do not use this provider, they take over 60 days to pay out often with no exploration of the payout. Use embrace instead
Fetch - STAY AWAY
I have had coverage with them since my dog was 2 months old. Fast forward 8 years I finally submitted a claim. When I got my renewal amount it literally tripled in cost! I paid them 8 years for nothing and this is how they treat their loyal customers. I canceled my plan. I can put that money in a savings account in case something happens.
Embrace - Paid for insurance for nothing
Unfortunately I had a claim that should have been approved but it was denied. Paid a lot into my insurance only for when I needed them they didn't come through. I provided what i could from the vet but it just wasn't enough. The vets never lose though and get there big pay day Everytime. Better off not having pets.
