Horrible to deal with and most claims are getting denied! The only thing they seem to be successful at is raising their monthly cost! Started at $95 in 2016 and am now at a $203 monthly fee! Do not choose Trupanion, your pet deserves better!

I cannot believe how much it is costing me for an 8 week old kitten! I never paid this much for a cat at that age! And I had problems with the webiste not confirming my purchase!

They have improved the payment time. It would be good to have EOBs connected to check. They keep mixing up my 2 dogs in regard to payment even tho the correct animals name is on the invoice which holds up payment.

Horrible insurance that I currently have. When filing a claim for reimbursement, I’m informed after six months of payments, but there’s a 30 day hold because I need to review my pets medical history for the last year before they can cover a hospital visit for him ingesting a foreign body. Like how could eating a piece of plastic have anything to do with a pre-existing condition or the fact that when I got the insurance I asked them to get my pets medical history for the last year which they did but apparently I didn’t ask them to also review it so now that I filed a claim, I have to wait 30 days for them to review the information before they can even look at the claim or try to make a decision. Worst pet insurance I’ve ever had anywhere I should’ve never have changed to this company go somewhere else don’t end up screwed like I am.

I'm reaching out once again due to an ongoing and deeply frustrating issue with my monthly claims. My veterinarian has provided clear documentation—on file with my account—stating that both of my dogs require AGE every month. I also submit this same documentation with each invoice and highlight the AGE section to avoid any confusion. Despite these efforts, my claims continue to be processed incorrectly, month after month. As a result, I am forced to call in every single time to correct the error. This is not only time-consuming but entirely avoidable, and it reflects either a lack of training within the claims department or a failure in internal communication procedures. I am further disheartened by the fact that switching providers is not a viable option, due to pre-existing condition exclusions. This leaves me without recourse, which only adds to my frustration. As a paying customer, I expect consistent accuracy and basic attention to detail—neither of which I’m receiving. Frankly, I don’t have much confidence that this message will be read or followed up on, given the pattern of oversight to date. Still, I’m asking—again—for this issue to be addressed and resolved at a systemic level so I no longer have to repeatedly chase corrections to your team’s recurring mistakes.

It takes too long to get your money back and the customer representative are not friendly and sort of smart mouthed.

Been with trupanion for 3 years. Just put in my first claim, wasn’t covered and it felt like a waste. Honestly, if you can afford it, you’re better off putting money aside in a pet emergency fund.
