Progressive - Need advice/Help!!!
I’m currently with Prgrssive insurance I star with them about 3 years ago I’m 27yo. First car insurance with them paid $700 for 6 months the following year they bumped out the price for $850+ for 6 months and this year I got $900 for 6 months. No accident zero report at all why they kept bumping my prices? I’m from New Jersey. I’m thinking of switching insurance and your recommendation or what I need to do to pay around $700 for 6 months if possible, thank you!
Mr. Cooper - Mortgage company said our loan is in “default”
So I reside in Minnesota, our loan company is Mr. Cooper.
We are behind a little bit February and March, but will come through before the end of the month to fully catch ourselves up again.
They sent me an email stating our loan is in default? How is that possible when it states we are barely in their words 39 days late on the payment? Can they default our loan just for that?
I’m going to be calling tomorrow to ask since we’re paying the full amount before the end of the month if it’s okay.
But I really can’t wrap my head around the fact they defaulted so quickly. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Or specifically this company? Much appreciated for answers!
Plymouth Rock Auto Insurance - Got backed up into TWICE and their insurance ghosted me
This happened a bit over a year ago. I was driving my girlfriend and her coworker to work and pulled over near the curb to let them out, at the same time another driver starts backing up so I lay on the horn but he hits my car my girlfriend and her coworker both were still in the car when it happened and saw everything. We get out and they are not communicating at all and possibly didn't speak english. Police were called and they didn't show up for over an hour and he eventually started trying to drive off. I follow through for half a block and he stops and backs up into me again. His "son-in-law" came after I guess they called him and he started trying to gaslight me into believing I hit him and theres no proof and that police aren't going to come. LOL. Police eventually pulled up and the other driver started to feign a heart attack or something. They even called the ambulance and the EMT didn't look pleased... I got the police report, report states: **"V1 STATES HE WAS PARKED WHEN V2 WAS REVERSING INTO A PARKING SPOT COLLIDED CAUSING DAMAGE TO FRONT BUMPER. V2 STATES HE WAS TRYING TO TAKE A PARK IN SPOT WHEN HE COLLIDED INTO V1. V2 CLAIMS THAT V1 WAS NOT THERE ARE THE TIME HE WAS REVERSING. V2 DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO BOOTH MEMORIAL FOR CHEST PAINS. PO DIDN'T WITNESS"**. I got the insurance info and drivers info from the police report, called their insurance to make a claim. They instructed me to go to this auto shop and get a quote for damages, went there, the shop said they will call me about the quote. I never heard from the body shop again even after calling them they said they'll send it and never did, the insurance company never again picked up my calls after weeks of calling.
I have liability insurance, with Geico and they said to file the claim with their insurance.
This is in NYC, the other driver had NY plates but insured by a NJ company "Plymouth Rock Auto Insurance"
Due to my girlfriend and I living together, Geico requested me to add her as a secondary driver, I told them she does not even have a license to drive and of course never drive my car. They sent numerous letters and emails about this. Each time I replied online and called in to explain that to them, they acknowledged and I thought that was over. They ended up dropping me, and I didn't even realize for nearly a month and then I was fined by NY for driving without insurance. Paid the penalty and started looking for other insurance. Nobody was willing to cover me due to a gap in coverage, possibly the accident being reported, etc. I was only offered to be insured by GEICO AGAIN LOL. They doubled my rate for liability insurance nearly $400 a month and I've been paying that since.
Need advice on how to get what I'm owed for the damages they caused to my car.
Lemonade - lemonade review and in need of advice for possible switch?
hello! i recently got lemonade for my 4 month old kitten. since then, she’s had a UTI or what seemed like one, they couldn’t really tell because she’s very tiny or something like that. i submitted my claim the ends of october and had a follow up on november 1st. the month is about to end and our claims combined to a total of 1.5k~ ish. we have not received our reimbursement yet even with all of the paperwork sent in. lemonade status is just “in review” and usually, id be patient and we have been but sometimes this money could be used for bills or going towards food or another visit if she ever got sick. it’s just infuriating emailing and getting the same automated message of “thanks for being patient.” i dont know if this is a universal experience with every pet insurance because its my first time having a cat ^^ but if anyone can recommend any better service pet insurance or if you’ve had similar experiences let me know!!
Odie Pet Insurance - Odie Pet Insurance is a SCAM
**Odie is taking my monthly money and not holding up their end of the bargain.**
I was switched to Odie from ManyPets when ManyPets sold and want the world to know: ODIE IS A SCAM. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN & DEF DON'T SIGN UP.
Aside from the significant increase in monthly cost and 20k coverage limit on a previously unlimited plan, Odie is...nowhere to be found. My claims are not being processed, nobody answers the phone, the chatbot isn't responsive, and I literally cannot get any information.
**I've filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau, providing screenshots of everything. Anyone else???**
Trupanion - Trupanion Price increase
So I just got a 37% increase this year and this is now a 77% over two years. Based on the cost increases in my area for Vet care.
This is what they said:
We recently reviewed the data for similar pets in your area, and we found that the average cost and use of veterinary care has increased. To ensure that Geena always has access to the best veterinary care possible, we’ll be changing Geena's monthly cost from $302.79 to $413.04 starting on August 17, 2025.
Trupanion is unique in that we never increase your monthly cost because you’ve submitted an invoice or because your pet ages.
When I called them they said there are many factors that go into this cost one of them is the increased cost of vet care for an older dog. So they do not increase for cost because your dog is older but they do increase your cost because and older dog vet cost are higher.
Don't you love insurance companies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Optum Bank - Optum Bank automatically reinvested all of my money, resulting in major loss
Hello,
I have an HSA with Optum Bank that I am transferring to another institution. A couple of weeks ago, I had a phone call with Optum where they had told me to liquidate my investments before initiating the transfer. Right after we hung up the phone, I liquidated all my investments and initiated the transfer with the other institution (Fidelity). I sold X amount of shares of VFIAX at share price of $565.06.
A few days after liquidating everything, there was a purchase of shares on my account using my entire account balance, purchasing shares of VFIAX at a share price $567.88. It turns out that my account had a flag named HSA auto-transfer enabled, which is the cause of this.
VFIAX has dropped a significant amount since this purchase was made. As of now, it is priced at $530 per share, which will drop even lower today.
I am upset because the representative from Optum did NOT inform me that auto-invest was enabled, and my entire portfolio is down about 7% due to this.
I just spoke with a supervisor at Optum to see if they can reverse this transaction and they said there is nothing they can do. The only thing I can do from this point is to disable auto-invest and liquidate all my shares for a loss.
Is there anything I can do about this? I'm upset that I have to take a loss due to the phone rep not telling me to disable this feature. It's also caused delay on the transfer process to Fidelity.
AAA - Michigan No Fault Insurance and medical bills
I was in an accident many years ago in Michigan. I was told I had medical coverage for life for my injuries through AAA car insurance. I now live in another state and need a surgery related to the accident. I re-opened my old claim and spoke with an adjuster. She said due to the no-fault laws, she would send a billable letter to the doctor so they can bill them direct, but that they don't do pre-approvals guaranteeing any payment, and that I can't pay direct and get reimbursed either.
My problem is, no one in my state is at all familiar with this and no one will accept a 'billable letter' or willing to even consider billing a car insurance company. I would gladly pay out of pocket if I could get reimbursed, but AAA says that's not allowed and they wouldn't reimburse me in that case. Am I missing something here? Is there a way to make this work or is it just a way the insurance company has found to make it nearly impossible to actually use the coverage?
Spot - Best Insurance for Cats?
I currently have Spot but they decided to raise my premium with no real extra benefit (as most insurance companies do around this time of year). I am now getting charged around $40 a month for a $500 deductible, 90% reimbursement after deductible and no preventative care. Is this fair?
Also if anyone has actually filed a claim and been satisfied with the company/experience which was it? Any company I should avoid all together? Insight would be nice!
(side note: I was looking at Progressive coverage since I could bundle with auto but idk if that's a good idea)
Banfield - Banfield Early Care Plus
Hello everyone who sees this post. I’m a first time mom dog and need advice on some wellness plans for my 1 month old Labrador Retriever. I’ve done a lot of research on different wellness plans and pet insurance but feel so overwhelmed. I also don’t want to pick any wellness plans as I want to make sure I’m getting my moneys worth and the appropriate care for my puppy. I’ve only had him for 5 days so far and would give my life for him.
I recently went to visit Banfield hospital that was inside of PetSmart at midtown crossing shopping center. The visit was free because my puppy was a new patient. I got him his first dosage of dewormer. The customer service was great and they were very attentive with my puppy. I arrived late to my appointment but they still saw him. I’ve read some reviews and other Reddit post about Banfield and they have been not so great. So I just want to get advice on whether or not the wellness early care plus plan is good for the first year of my puppy’s life and ONLY for the first year.
It includes:
-introductory comprehensive physical exam
-graduation comprehensive physical exam
-routinely recommended vaccinations
-ear swab to help catch signs of parasites and disease (1x a year)
-screening test for heartworm and tick-borne diseases
-WISDOM PANEL health DNA test to screen for genetic diseases
-fecal exam (3x a year) and routine deworming (4x a year)
-virtual visits (2x a year)
-pet wellness 1-1 session
-unlimited office visits
-neuter surgery, including preanesthetic blood testing with electrolyte panel and monitoring throughout the procedure and recovery
This will be $78/monthly. Coming out to $936 for the year.
Of course, for additional recommended vaccines and additional charges for medication and extra procedures not covered by the plan, I’m willing to pay out of pocket. I’ll be sure to get my puppy pet insurance as well but still looking. So far I’ve seen Spot, Figo (since I have a Costco membership), and lemonade.
For now I’m thinking setting the coverage plan at its lowest so I pay no more than $20 a month. I know how it sounds, but I don’t want to pay so much for pet insurance right now as he’s still small. Once I see that he’s growing and being more of a menace, then I’ll change his plan to cover more so I won’t have to worry about paying so much out of pocket. What do you guys think about this? I need all the advice I can get on the Banfield plan and my idea on the pet insurance thing. Asking for all advice. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to me. You don’t know how much I appreciate it.
