Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
New York insurance - New York insurance is getting out of hand
I am looking everywhere for insurance and the best rates I could find are around $1,200+/mo for 10 months. I know I am a new driver but that price is WILD!! Any helpful comments would be appreciated.
Progressive - Car insurance increasing
I’m a newly insured driver (early 20s) and my car is over 20 years old. I only drive my car maybe 10 minutes a day 1-2 times a week due to driving anxiety. My first 6 months with progressive it was $200 a month. Now with my renewal it will be $250 a month. I’m wondering if this is normal, if/who I need to call to discuss why it has increased. I live in a very safe area. I’m new to everything and not sure what to do. From reading it seems mostly everyone’s rates are increasing but mine is still significantly higher. Any help much appreciated, thank you.
Geico - geico kicking me off because I'm doing food deliveries but I'm not?!
so I think the title explains it clear enough got a info in the mail me and my mom share a policy because i'm 19 and from my knowledge its pretty hard to get one note says "we are kicking you off on the 8th because you are doing deliveries" I am not doing deliveries I was in my previous car but I didn't even have that car insured with them and i literally told noone i was, along w the fact that the insurance company i used when I was doing deliveries has gone down under I had to switch and it was a totally separate thing and I haven't done any food deliveries since getting my new car since its a 350z lowered and its practically impossible to do them, so me and mom call agent and agent says "idk it just says you are there is nothing you can do your just going to get kicked off"? need advice in general, and just general questions, why can't I just send them proof that i haven't 2nd question where am I going to get insurance at 19 now
Progressive - Leased Car. 24F NYS. Insurance is $500?? Any other places to shop?
Hi all. I recently leased a new car because the used car market was so atrocious in my area it was cheaper to go this route (context: they want full coverage so it's more expensive than the baseline cheapest policy I can otherwise get in NYS, the insurance checks on the used cars I found were comparable). My monthly rate is 500$/month w/ Progressive. Which is way more than the damn car.
I'm a new driver, female, 24 (FML). I understand being young and new is whatever but 500$?? This was the cheapest my agent could find but I really want to shop elsewhere and look around before the next insurance renewal rolls up.
Priority Health - Priority Health rarely gives me the correct information
I am in the habit of constantly asking clarifying questions and I ask the same ones over and over again to different people (I call frequently) and I get different answers all the time. I never truly know what's covered or how much it's going to cost. It's so much BS. The medical facilities give me more accurate information than Priority Health does. 3 Priority Health people have told me my son receives unlimited therapy visits because of his diagnosis, but I know that's not true, and I've had only 2 people tell me the correct number of visits he gets for his diagnosis. The pediatric office even knew the correct answer. How is this legal for them to be so wrong all the time? Ughhhhh
Geico - Car accident settlement
I was driving east on 71 headed home for the day after work when someone pulled out from a stop sign on Albert Brown Drive. I was luckily able to maneuver around the person without making any contact with the vehicle however in doing so my vehicle spun out and landed in a ditch. Vehicle is totaled, my head was bleeding from a minor cut, cut on my leg, bruise on my shoulder, little bit of neck pain but the worst was the red mark on the back of my ribs and a coupled ribs being bruised. Sucks I had just bought the car not a month ago and was a fairly rare 1993 Volvo 240 sedan that was black on black with chrome accents, super slick car and I looked forever until I could find it.
Geico called me and said how usually this is an odd case because there was no contact with the other vehicle however the driver and police report said it was his fault so Geico is wanting to offer me a settlement. they offered $2,450 as basically "we sorry" this happened and will still cover the medical expenses from the ER and the vehicle cost's. Just not sure if I should take the offer being the wreck caused me to lose two days of work at one job and haven't been able to go back to my other job since I don't have a vehicle. Also I have racked up close to 300 dollars on Lyft rides, plus 150 to have my totaled car taken home and have my girlfriend leave work to drive 30 minutes to get me and take me to the ER. Also missed one of my best friends birthday parties the day after the accident and haven't been able to go back running or working out since the accident. I'm debating on hiring an attorney but resistant since my medical injuries were not severe. Also I have no idea how much they will pay out for the vehicle and online says 2000-7000 just sucks cause I can't find another car like it and not to mention I just spent 600 plus dollars on parts for the car.
If anyone has had this similar experience what did you do, did you take the initial offer, negotiate with the insurance company or go through an attorney. I greatly appreciate anyones advice and input.
Also if anyone has a 2001-2006 Honda CR-V for sale that's what I will be looking for once this is settled.
GEICO - Denial of automobile insurance claim
I was involved in a car accident. I called the local police after the accident who came and filed a police report. After waiting for the form to be validated I obtained a copy from the DMV and provided it to the insurance. The police issued the other driver a ticket for failure to yield as she was pulling out of her driveway on to the road. I was traveling on the road and was unable to stop or avoid her in time and hit her car in the road. I took pictures of the accident which shows my car pulled over on the road, debris in the road and her car pushed onto the shoulder. I assumed with the police report and my other evidence I would be successful in filing a claim against her insurance.
The insurance company notified that they will not pay for repairs to my vehicle as the other drivers statement does not match mine or the police report. They stated she is working to amend the police report. I’ve never heard of this so I called the police who told me the chances of getting the report amended are very slim and likely not to happen. The other driver claims she was stopped for several seconds and I should have been able to avoid her. The roads were covered with snow so stopping times were increased, I could not stop in time.
I have no collision as my car isn’t worth very much and now have no way to repair it. Does anyone have experience in a similar situation on what my best options are with the evidence I have? So far I have filed a complaint with my states department of financial services, request a copy of the decision and appeal process with the insurance and stared researching the small claims court process. The insurance company refusing to pay is GEICO if that matters. Any advice to recoup some compensation for my damaged car is appreciated.
tldr: got in accident other driver ticketed insurance refuses to pay for repair
State Farm - Does anybody know or have had an awful experience with State Farm?
Does anybody know or have had a awful experience with State Farm? They have kept my car at a body shop. It was a front end collision. They fixed all the outside of the car. Even things that did not need to be replaced. When went to pick it up it was not drivable. We told them at the time of the crash that they stability. Track went out. They refused to fix that. They told me to have it towed to my dealership. And guess what? I can’t get a hold of their roadside assistance. And every time I call they act like they don’t even know Like there is no claim! How can that be? They still have my vehicle at the shop.
Next - I'm having an impossible time finding business insurance in California
Hi all,
Like the title says, I'm having a super hard time finding insurance. I've reached out to Next, The Hartman, and Hiscox; I've been referred to Tivily and then transferred from there to Thimble who turned me down, and I have yet to be connected to anyone who can offer coverage.
I recently launched a for-profit s-corp, 501(c)(3) fiscally sponsored disability resource center that supports individuals across the lifespan in my community. We're launching an adaptive equipment library, classes and services, 1:1 peer mentoring, and community education. I'm the owner and we're a team of 3 volunteers. All of our service offerings are free but we're in the process of applying for grants and contracting with Medi-Cal, CalAIM, and SARC. We also are opening a physical center to act as a social/community space and adaptive store. Ideally, we will be expanding our program offerings this year. Everything is on hold because I can't find an insurance provider and we can't get contracts without it.
Any help and advice is welcome.
Progressive - PTIT
Has anyone done the PTIT program recently? I got a citation for suspended registration in January and my court date is next week. Today I got a post card in the mail saying my case might be eligible for PTIT.
This is my first ticket/citation ever in life so I’m just not sure what to do. My registration was suspended at the fault of my insurance company. In October 2024 I switched from Progressive to Geico and Geico never reported my new insurance to the state so I was unaware I had been driving with suspended registration since about October 2024.
I have since called my insurance company to have them report it and make everything right. My registration has been restored and fees waived. The officer told me on site that if I just call and have them do this I wouldn’t have to appear. I called the court today and they told me I still had to come despite what the officer told me on the stop.
Should I consider PTIT? I think this may be a program only in Atlanta, but I’m not sure. Should I see a judge and provide my documents and hope they throw it out? I just don’t want any points on my license or charges against me so I’m not sure what to do. With PTIT do I pay same day I go to court? How does all this work
