Trupanion - Trupanion Finds any Way to Not Pay Claims
Trupanion misrepresents itself as they boast about all the reasons why their premiums are so much more expensive than others. meanwhile they deny claims for every possible reason. they use every comment written down by a vet to tie in to any possible pre existing condition. so my PERFECTLY HEALTHY CAT was denied claims because they said he was anorexic. my cat never didn’t eat. never lost weight. they said the charts read he was lethargic and stressed. which they said could relate to issues with eating disorders. so he didn’t have a condition. they just linked every symptom to as many conditions that it may be. there were over 20 conditions they wouldn’t cover because of ridiculous symptoms. sneezing was linked to possible respiratory so no respiratory tests covered. plaque of a tooth’s they said is linked to periodontal disease so no teeth related claims. the list went on and on. abdominal because of the possible eating issues. urinary because he peed outside of his box once. so no urinary test covered. Trupanion is the biggest scam that makes health insurance companies for people look reasonable. Do not give your business to these con artists. I had them for 2.5 years and they never paid a single claim.

Trupanion - The company didn’t charge me for July…
The company didn’t charge me for July payment. So I called to alert them. Now they are charging twice in one month without any notification. I did call. Twice. Your people said it was an issue with your payment processing people. I understand crap happens but alert your customers to expect two charges in one month

MetLife - In the beginning
In the beginning, it took several weeks to get reimbursed, but that part is getting better.
I believe this is my third year as a customer and you guys keep raising my rate due to the plan that I’m on because you don’t like that plan anymore and you want to price me out of it. I do not think that’s fair given I pay in full upfront, and I’ve been a good customer and you guys offered that plan… To try to price somebody out of it just because you wanna get rid of something is not the right thing to do.
Nationwide - Please do not process my application
Please do not process my application. Online it quoted $23 a month. I filled out the application then get an email saying over $49 a month. I'm not paying that amount nor is it even in the ballpark of the amount it quoted online which prompted me to complete the application.
Embrace - Know your policy wording
I thought this would be an easy company to deal with, associated with USAA. Sure, they employ nice people who are helpful when you call in to dispute a claim that wasn’t covered, but get ready because you will be calling them a lot.
You have be extremely specific with your claims and that involves invoices from your veterinarian. I have had 5 claims in one month rejected because the wording used in the invoice is not covered. Once the wording is changed to the specific language in the policy the claim is then covered. However it’s the same thing. I can’t claim “physical therapy” as a broad term because that may or may not include the 5 therapies covered. This is such a headache because I then have to go back to the veterinarian and beg them to change the wording on the invoice so I am refunded. What has been extremely frustrating is my veterinarian expressing her own dismay as “other insurance companies aren’t this picky.” Had I known this I would have not automatically trusted a USAA company to be the best choice. My advice is KNOW YOUR POLICY, and be able to communicate clearly to your veterinarian about what language needs to be used on an invoice. It sucks, in the face of an animal in crisis to have to think about it this way, but alas here we are.

I made the mistake of asking for a quote and left my e-mail address. The prices are too high and decided not to but. I keep on getting bombarded with constant e-mails and marking them as spam or blocking does not seem to work.
Pets Best - May cancel policy!
Got got our dog on 7/2, applied for pet insurance 7/3, noticed our dog was scratching his ear alot, had an infections- found out on 7/14 and my claim was denied bc it wasn’t past the 14 waiting trial! 3 days really makes a difference! When I paid the first 6 months up front!

They are the absolute worst company to partner with for pet insurance. After calling customer service for almost a week and not being able to get in contact with anybody to help me so I can cancel my policy before the 30 days and of course nobody answered I finally was able to get in contact with somebody today to be told that I could not get a refund, but they will go ahead and cancel my policy or something that I had never used never again. Will I ever listen to somebody about using a pet insurance company like this again their customer service people are phony. They are liars and they need to learn how to answer the phone. What kind of business runs with nobody answering the phone?
