Trupanion - My dog needed an intentional surgery
My dog needed an intentional surgery. He wasn’t eating for a week so I brought him into the doctor knowing he probably ate something bad and had a blockage. My vet visit wasn’t covered, this visit diagnosed the problem. It wasn’t a well visit, this visit wasn’t covered, doesn’t seem right.
MetLife - So so
Vet should be one to send in claims. Many claims sent in by me get denied when i pay a lot of money.
Trupanion - Declined reimbursement
Declined to pay ER treatment required call to Pet Poison Helpline. Also eliminated for payment $430 for Emergency visit ($200 which was NOT an exam fee) & Inpatient Exam ($230.00). Believe they calculated Exam fee twice. Spoke to call center who refused to help. I pay a great deal monthly for this coverage & am not happy with these decisions. They seem to stretch restrictions to save corporation money instead of being compassionate regarding the issues facing the clients & their pets. Used to be a business who bent over backward to work with clients. No more. Will no longer recommend.
Fetch Canada - More headache than payout.
Got Fetch pet insurance for our new puppy, Generally a bad experience. Coverage amounts were frequently less than expected, and often required a lot of back and forth documentation to get even partial coverage. Most egregious situation was when our dog had a sore tail that he was biting at at 11 months old they refused to cover the vet assessment because he was noted to be scratching at his new collar on his first assessment, so it was a "preexisting condition".
At the time I asked them not to renew when my policy ended. Then, when my policy ended, sure enough I got dinged for an annual renewal fee. Then when I called to get it reversed, they said they would only prorate me 11 months because I was already committed to continuing for at least another month.
Ridiculous.
MetLife - Frustrated
I have been working with you guys to get a claim paid for over a month now. Everytime you requested additional information, I responded with that information far within the allotted time given, yet you still denied the claim for not responding to your request. So Frustrating. Now over a month later I am still trying to get the claim reviewed. Not the best experience.

My claims are not being processed in a timely manner. A couple have been overlooked and when I follow up on the status I am unable to get an answer.
MetLife - Consistently denies the same claim I…
Consistently denies the same claim I submit every two months and requires following up with their terrible customer service multiple times.

You have the nerve to ask my opinion of Pets Best after the way they have NOT paid our legitimate bills submitted?!!
This company sucks!! I have submitted dental claims twice to no avail! This time the are going to pay $150 of a $1500. bill!!
That is rediculous! I will not continue to pay a 3 month fee of > $266. for what I have received in return! You people are nuts! I will also report this company!
MetLife - Denial of eligible claims
There have been instances where eligible claims were denied and it was only because I called to query that I was told it was being “reviewed” by a machine, I assume AI. Because I called the claim was reviewed by an actual person and approved. It also takes several days sometimes 3 weeks before a claim is addressed. Neither of these occurrences is acceptable.
MetLife - my experiences during the year I was…
my experiences during the year I was covered with MetLife were OK, while there was much bureaucracy getting things set up, claims went smoothly once all the required materials were submitted. My complaint and reason for a two star rating is a doubling of the cost of my policy from year one to year two. I did not have excessive claims, and there was no reason for this. I had to drop my coverage and move elsewhere and I’m very displeased as a result
